Interesting history. I'm not familiar in Northern Schuylkill County. I did a quick search, that memorial on the telephone pole is for a young man killed in an atv accident.
another good video ..@8;49 in the video you show a house..thats actually an old sunoco station ..and was turned into a house ...i was just up this road on wendnesday with my brother...when he was a kid he was on this road when it was in use

and btw..i didnt know about that train accident with a harris bakery truck...that was good to know..Harris bakery was a good place to get hard rolls ,,the building is for sale now
Have walked thru that section before as I came from frackville and walked down. Took some good sunset pictures but never had anyone tell me I wasn’t allowed there. Plus talked to a frackville cop who said he goes down there on 4wheelers and stuff I just assume I can’t drive my truck in there to go collect a rock with fossils in it that I can’t carry that far
My great grandfather was a miner at the Mahonoy Plane. I have his miners license. This was very interesting for me.

My grandfather's brother, Geary Hower, was the president of the Gilberton Coal Company way back in the 1940's or 50's.
Cool, never knew that was there. We used to get to Frackville a lot. Gorgeous fall colors🍁🍂🍃
