In 1966, Denise Drysdale earned as much as $400 a week as a go-go performer.
Today, that is more than $5,300.
This year marks Four Corners’ 60th anniversary.
In August 1961, we made our debut on Australian TV with a staff of just six and a weekly budget of £480.
Copies of the program were flown around the country for broadcast.
Today, Four Corners is Australia’s longest-running current affairs program and a powerhouse of investigative journalism.
Our award-winning program has amassed 62 Walkley awards, seven of them the coveted Gold, as well as 23 Logie awards.

Watching the go go dance class gave me a big grin 😁 wonderfully silly

Why silly? Normal dance. Sure men liked it.
It beats the hell out of disco.
We need MORE GO GO DANCERS in 2024. They are leaders of the community.
I sang with a BIG BAND and in a small space at the end of the stage there was a Go-Go girl dancing away to the Band playing and me singing. . At that particular point we had a Male singer and he began dating the Go-Go dancer. After a few weeks of them going together the GoGo got a bit bold and tried dancing on the floor in front of the stage. It was really busy, she was swaying, hips gyrating, and a young guy asked her for a dance. Next thing I knew the Male singer dived from the stage into a group of dancing patrons. His girlfriend had been dancing with one of them in his full view. What a kerfuffle! I recall he was fired instantly, and no contract ever renewed for any other Male singer. The Band leader thought we could all go on without one. They had me,. GoGo dancer was finished, she never got paid anyway, she just volunteered. 4/5 years I sang there The Cavendish Ballroom had a sprung floor, and it was very popular. I sang at weekends, and through the week I sang a lot of standards for the Ballroom crowd. I loved it all.
So cool
Fantastic! And the dancing looks terrific!
Of course for the non Aussies commenting here who have no idea what they're talking about . . . They need to know that *Denise Drysdale* went on to have a career in entertainment for decades (currently working aged 72 on TV Morning Show), and is a *True Aussie Legend.*
Also known as Ding Dong.

Looking back, the dance craze that followed ago go, SOUL, a slo mo variant of ago - go is more aesthetic!😆🙃
This is how you hold power to account.
I may not be an Ozzie I'm a (NY'er) but I do understand that Ozzies are hip & thank-you for this groovy go-go video ! Oh behave baby!
Great introduction and now I must Go Go 🙂
Go go dancing and the Shuffle Dance....two great innovations....

Its only great music that resonates with the body that creates great dancing and all of that stopped in the 90's. From 1920's -1990's produced great music and dancing
Cardio classes today should be like this.

ANY dance class. They all look the same...
Didn't know cows can dance hahahahahahhahaha🤣🤣🤣
Thats gotta hurt.
$20 an hr? and boomers complain we get paid too much for doing actual hard work
I doubt you could dance vigorously for a few hours straight to music you didn't prepare for.
But anyways, kinda comparing apples to oranges here because a dancer can't expect to get a high paying gig every day. I'm sure only the pretty in demand ones can expect to do it for a living reliably.
No offensive but the other girl seems like a better dancer. This chick makes me feel like I might pull my back
O I C THE COMMENTS ARE ENABLED ON THIS VIDEO, HOW ABOUT ENABLING THE VIDEO CALLED (FOX AND THE BIG LIE) 🤔
Wow comments are open for nonsense but closed for anything that matters...
Go ABC
That's because in this day and age, anything that matters draws so much hatred and incivility… ☹️

If people could bang on their keyboards and keep their heads screwed on it'd be a different story. If you have so much to say about what matters to you, start a channel, create content, or do something that matters like actual real life activism. Comments don't matter.
