Insurers do what they want, last week I was checking insurance on Triumph Sprint ST, I called my current insurer on getting a multi bike policy but computer said no, I need new single bike policy costing £450. I then went online with the same information and got an email quote of £149 from the same insurer, incredible.
i did this with tesco direct for our cars, then i sent them a screenshot of the new price that i found on a comparison site - they immediately sorted it, apologised and sent me a voucher - twa7s
Maximum pricing is needed. Insurance as a legal requirement means its a virtual money tree. The freedom to independent travel is rapidly becoming a wealthy persons privilege.
I got my 19 year old through his CBT and he wanted a 125cc. The bike was £3500. However to insure the bike TPFT with security devices declared (Datatag, Oxford chain-lock, disk-lock and a tracker) he was quoted £6394.59 with Bennetts. We had to buy a 3 year old MUTT to get the price down to £1300. So much for these new heavily reviewed 125's nobody can afford to have them
That is a Definite F.OFF we do not want to insure you quote, and from Bennetts a broker that advertises itself as a motorcyclist specific one! They should be encouraging next generation bikers not putting them off forever. A comment should be made on their RUclips "Bikers" Social channel. Disgraceful.
a big fiddle i use NFU bit cheaper and they do a bonus thing discount if you renew next year but i agree taking piss at them prices then they say people go without insurance and wonder why you dont have to work for nasa to work that one out ?
Too much? Yes. Will the government bring costs down? Not a chance. Only if the government created an insurance company that was not for profit, maybe part of national insurance. everyone pays, everyone can use.
Looks at energy prices- that went up; Looks at car insurance- that went up; Looks at bike insurance- that went up; Looks at food prices- they went up. I looked at Brokers year end profits in their public financial records. Feel free to look up your favourite for profit statement... the biggest one in the UK profits were up 2023 +23% on 2022, UK 2024 +32% over 2023. Does that sound like an industry drowning in payouts?
i cannot hold my breath indefinitely - also, what's the reason for ripoff fuel still? there is no shortage anywhere nor is there any difficulty in delivering it, the contrary in fact .....

If I had a bike stolen I probably wouldn’t claim on my insurance because I own 7 bikes all with individual policies and my premiums would increase massively on all the remaining bikes not to mention my car policies as well. It’s all a big fat scam.
I admire your intent, however the govt makes a lot of money on addional IPT tax on insurance so would be agreeing to reduce thier tax revenue, just as they would by capping petrol & energy prices. I'd much rather see a fairer change to vehicle weight for motorcycle road tax, which would also have the impact of reducing govt tax revenue. Add the highway robbery tactics many insurers employ being much harder to control, i doubt that we would see a better return for this fight than we would by just shopping around every time your renewal is due. Ride safe 👍
Don’t get Government involved in insurance prices. The rising prices are caused by the cost of government and their monetary policy/investment regulation. If insurance companies cannot get a return on investment it has to increase the price.
Once you realise that there is NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PARTIES, then you're on the way to understanding that it's just US vs THEM. Both parties rape up for their own good. And while I'm on it: that's why all Western g'ments have an 'Aid' policy. Take the Ukn. The senate in the States vote to send 'Aid' money. Z gets it, takes his 10% and the rest? It gets channelled back to the off shore accounts of the very exact same people who voted. In FACT one senator actually flew to Z with a written list of each person who voted and this was in the media.

1 big fiddle
As a legal requirement, there should be a cheap legal cover available for all - like in other countries like, I believe, Spain?

Insurance is designed to pay out share holders

THIS government?
A comment worthy of Facebook
Any Government?
@barrydaly7174 Yeah. Because this one is just an average one. Its like a difference between bad and worse.
