Sonic Generations - S Ranks & No Skills - Part 005: Metal Sonic Rival Battle

The first rival fight, and the one most suited to this era. Knuckles would probably be a close second, but the fights with him have never been that good.
This is very similar to the Sonic CD encounter. You basically have to let him use his attacks and wear himself out before you hit him whilst he's tired out. I don't know how I managed the timing for the second hit, but it looked spot on before he started charging there.
His attacks are nothing special, and are well telegraphed. Either with charging up or going off screen to chuck cars at you. All three rival fights lucking things at Sonic. Hit him four times to defeat him and obtain the Chaos Emerald. You'll need the Chaos Emeralds to access the ending in this game.
I change the music for all the second fights, though only had one choice here, unfortunately.
Hard difficulty was slightly quicker (by like a second). I think the timing to hit can be more annoying to work out on Hard and he uses more attack variety. But I was quicker. Somehow. I was surprised he got damaged whilst charging up and the last hit must have been through i-frames.
