2:14 Seeing Sonic fly over that water like that bouncing from tree to tree was one of the sickest things I've seen in a long time. Also love that classic Toei Animation "tump" foot sound effect every time Sonic's feet lands on something, that's a nice addition. This project is already looking legendary.

The music is literally just Dragon Valley from Freedom Planet 2 mashed with the South Island theme from the Sonic OVA.

Sick Bro! I just finished playing the current version of Sonic Overdrive, and it is so much fun! There was a slight learning curve when moving around, but once I got the hang of it, it was crazy what I could do. It really feels like playing a Sonic cut scene! The level design for Chapter One is a vast improvement as it looks and plays more polishedly. Keep It up!!

If/when that 3D Sonic game by Christian Whitehead and co gets made, this is what I imagine it looking like. Voices are the only unofficial feeling thing about this and I completely understand that, you are really talented and I hope this ends up getting completed.

@@demigodstudiosVERY occasionally it sounds like they're reading off a script, like maybe once in all the dialogue we have so far, and also just the fact that it isn't the official voice cast which onviously can't happen. These VAs are doing really good for their roles and sound like the characters really well.
Also in another person's comment section who played this, someone said "This might be the closest thing to a playable version of the Sonic CD opening we have and I'm here for it", just wanted to tell you that

If I may make a suggestion: When characters are interacting with each other during levels, maybe cut off the voice clips so Sonic isn’t talking over his own voice. The gameplay is awesome though.

Honestly, I was nervous about it this zone being cut off (Some here may likely already know), so I really appreciate this zone being reworked and much more alive.

Unbelievable…..better than most AAA sonic games on the market
South Island and FP2 Dragon Valley go pretty well together, and also matches the aesthetics here.
With that shade of blue sonic looks a lot more like Ova Sonic, I kinda like that.

The voices are kinda weird, but i hope who voiced them had fun with it ahah.
The overall game seems really nice, the art direction is real real good.
Surely i don't know how the gameplay will be in the actual final game, as it's kinda hard to balance the gameplay of the game you're trying to make.
Prolly my main complain is this being made with Dreams, i have no real problems with that usually but... This project looks way too polished and good... I don't know much about game developing but i think at this point it would be easier to make it in godot or any other type of engine.
But if this is your "dream", then nothing is stopping you.
There are lots of nice projects even on roblox (the only difference is that dreams is way less popular, and playstation only, which is an actual negative thing).

Something Id recommend is that when there's diolog on screen you should disable voice clips from characters

When I first saw Dreams my take away was that it was just mindless memes and half baked slop that I never wanted to get, but this project made me second guess myself on that claim.

On a more serious note, the sense of flow in this game seems amazing. I love how you don't just lose all of your speed when you destroy a Badnik. It's similar to something like Badnik Bouncing in the classic games, so being able to emulate that in a 3D setting is pretty cool.

Is there a way you can limit the distance the camera zooms out when speeding up. At high speeds, Sonic looks really tiny and it becomes a bit hard to see him

@@demigodstudios Is there a chance it could be like a slider or something in the settings?
@@GameMaster0097 Yes and no, it’s a lot more complicated because the camera has to take into consideration Sonic’s current orientation as well as specific instances like wall run walls and loops where the camera has to copy the grounds orientation AND not clip through, I could try but I did also move it in a LOT more than it was in the final demo.

They'd (presumably) have to make the entire game from scratch since Dreams isn't a game engine that uses code. I think it'd be hella cool if this was on PC too, but sadly I don't think that's going to happen.
Is there gonna be an option to mute dialogue?
@@POLYBLUESPlus nope, went through the effort of getting voice actors, making up lines and then having them say them. Importing them, sorting over 200 samples, audio adjusting them, making them activate at specific times and saved several versions.
Level specific dialogue only plays ONCE if you completed a level, hated that in 06.
If you mean the drop dash lines that ONLY happens if you hit max speed OR dropdash which is a Sonic only ability. So you could either A: not dropdash, B: Play a different character, C: give me more likes than “lets rock and time to kick it up a notch”, those are the only 2 I thought wouldn’t sound that weird as a line for that sorta thing.

@@lucdubois3927 caaaaaap, and sure there’s enemies, like the Ka-Bloom, a stationary sun flower enemy that sends 3 homing missiles that match your top speed if you let them launch and the Pyragon, a fearsome dragon that will ALSO match and surpass your top speed, the ONLY way to kill it is to make it crash into the environment. If I stopped moving for even a second I would’ve been cooked. The idea is to unlike Sonic games where enemies hold no utility and are simply around JUST for the sake of being an enemy, more akin to Rolling Rascals design and enemy placement the levels are designed with enemy utility in mind. Also the thermo only allowed for 2 types of enemies. It’s the first level of the game not Eggman land. What about the level is generic tho? There’s quite literally NEVER been a Sonic level with this specific aesthetic or design, Fangame or not I checked beforehand so what are you on about exactly ?
