well, i was going to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a degree in photography...but instead i think i'll watch your videos! Thank u so much! Really the best i have seen after hours and hours of youtube, you are concise, detailed and witty...and exquisite shots on top of that. nice.
Just love this shoot. The model is perfect for this, a dancer with perfect form and features. I hope to try this soon, and if I do, I will share. Thanks very much!
Excellent tutorial well explained and done with good humour. Beautiful you model and brilliant outcome . I'm a pro photographer from Australia but you never stop learning. Thanks Phill.
Beautiful images! I'm finding so much inspiration in this video and I cannot wait to use these techniques in my studio work. Thank you for taking the time to post these lessons online.
Great video. But most important is Mr. Phillip is always charged pack and pleased to Share ideas and he really answers viewer doubts. Thanks Mr. Phillip
Phillip you are truly the real deal mate, so knowledgeable, its amazing what you can do with a bare bones setup. There is no substitute for experience, Great Video & wonderful images!
Hi Phillip, thank you very much for this excellent tutorial. It took some practice but I was able to make some very cool imagery using small 4 " classical statues. I suspended cupid with dental floss and made him fly into the frame to " strike the heart " of a female . In another, " Clash of the Titans " I have Ajax rushing to confront Poseidon , in a nice swoosh , as he waves him off with the back of his hand. Next stop is the university for some athletes - it should be really, really cool. One error I made , was not considering the reflectivity index of my subjects, so the first shots with green figurines had no light trails, ( Cupid & company were white ) then I reasoned, the darker the subject, the, more light, longer shutter speed or wider aperture required. It was a great exercise that yielded great results. A fantastic skill to have in the kit. Thanks again, couldn't be happier. It goes with out saying , you are a great teacher and presenter. Keep up the great work !.
I think that youtube was hiding you Mr. Phillip. After years of serching for photography I saw one of your videos now and.. I can say I found my teacher 👍🏼
this is awesome! Amazed with the techniques that you showed here in a very simple but stunning way! Now I need a couple of things to equip myself before doing this experiment. Thanks a lot Phillip as you taught me the thing that haunted me for months!...
I really love your teaching techniques and the way that you keep your videos moving i wish i could pay for a photography class and have it all on video, superb!
@@PhillipMcCordall Did you ever make that video on 2nd curtain sync? I would like to learn more about it. No doubt your lesson here shows an advanced version of the simple concept.
@@kennethgnielsen I thought I had but looking through the tutorials I can only find the one with the ballet dancer that uses it. I'll do one as it is an interesting subject :)
Great Vid Phillip Thank You. Again you show what can be done with simple rather than costly or complex! More of this is needed imo to bring photography back to an enjoyable affordable pastime for more people rather than a marketers money drainer!
wow awesome tutorial! I thought myself how to photograph when I purchased my first dslr earlier this year in februrary. I watch youtube videos and read online. I got the hang of it and I'm pretty good but there's new things I'm always learning. I loved this tutorial since I have been looking as to how to do long exposure photography with flash in the dark. I had read and seen a video about this before where they explained that flash freezes the subject but I never knew you could use it at the end. Very awesome! And I will try to put it into my photos! BTW! Georgia is a beautiful model!!!!
I really enjoy your videos, they teach more more than what I am in learning in class. Maybe I should say I understand better because of your videos. Thank you so much.
Great great tutorial! I have a shoot with a model, that's about free dance style (some sort of ballet in fact) in the start of oktober. So this, could prove to be a very useful tutorial for me in the near future. I'll send the link her way and I'll let you know what she has to say. :) I have all the flashes/lights needed, so I can experiment with all the types. :D (If my model is willing of course...) Great pictures, perfect model, love the humor, etc.... ^^ Thank you for a very nice tutorial!
@@PhillipMcCordall well I had assignment about photography lighting: history, studio vs location, plan my own shoots. and I said that in studio one has to be still vs natural (daylight) a model can move 🙂
@@MsPrucka That's interesting. The important thing for me is that nothing is impossible in photography, if the photographer has a good knowledge of technique. Experimentation with mixing light sources is great fun. :) Hope you have a great career .
just put the camera on 1/6000th and fire. will only work on copal/leaf shutters, nothing that has curtains. dslrs will max out at 1/200 or so, where as mirrorless cameras like a fujifilm x100s goes up to 1/4000 sync.
well done on this video, great technique shown. Model is absolutely perfect for the shot, stunning! congrats. it's now 2019, where is Georgia now I wonder, royal ballet? would be so interesting to revisit this shoot and Georgia to see what else you could achieve now, I would be proud to photograph this woman.
What I like in your videos is that you show techniques that are quite accessible to the "average" photographer. You're showing here that even without the latest Zeiss lens, one can get GREAT results if stuff is used properly and if (mainly) we use our imagination. So true! Thank you!
hahahaha sounds great will keep that in mind mannnn im just so happy to finally tell ppl u r never too old to do photos n direct em here u r an inspiration
This award-winning tutorial was made with love and passion, and that is all that matters.
Thanks for that lovely comment, Have I missed something when you say award winning ?
I am watching this in 2019. Amazing stuff!

Love this technique and can't wait for the opportunity to give it a go!
Thanks and good luck with it, just make sure the background is dark, that's where most people have trouble :)
Allways enyoing your humor during the videos.. What a great technic
