      Patience is what helps teach kids....so many people don't have the patience to teach, all they do is yell at their kids, and wonder why they won't come to their parents for anything LOL.
      I've had to teach quite a few friends' kids how to drive as a result of the parents lacking the patience to teach.

    We are privileged, 2 days in a row and we get to watch Rance in his first experience with the simulator. Every ranch kid needs to be able to drive as soon as they can reach the pedals.

    • @scotty2307
      @scotty2307 9 месяцев назад +15

      And that is what ranch kids have been doing since there were trucks. Unfortunately, now we also have ignorant Karens who have nothing better to do than ruin someone else's day. And yes. I agree with the use of the word "need". These ranch kids absolutely need to know the things their dad is teaching them.

    • @brianbaxter1889
      @brianbaxter1889 9 месяцев назад

      RUclips is ignorant to how farm FAMILY'S are formed. Kids make up the family farm as soon as they can help with family farm chores. I was driving a tractor at 8 picking corn or combining beans. Running barn cleaner into manure spreader and hooking up tractor to spread manure in fields. Why that's whats farm family's did and still do. AMERICA WAS BUILT ON FARMING VALUES NOT RUclipsS LIBERAL IGNORANCE OF REAL VALUES.

      @@scotty2307us kids started out sitting in the lap steering. Then we'd get to shift when our arms were long enough. Reaching the pedals took some growing into.

      Looked to me like Rance needed the seat moved forward more LOL.
      I agree, teach them while they're young enough to not think they know everything. At 41 I'm just learning to operate heavy equipment LOL....while there are kids out there driving this stuff, I'm just now learning...never had the opportunity as a kid to drive anything other than a lawn tractor....every kid should have the opportunity to spend a summer on a ranch, orchard, farm, etc. and learn how to drive everything from the lawn tractor, to all the heavy equipment, and semi-trucks....the more they learn, the more they know, the better off they'll be when they get to the high school age/job market age...great stuff to be able to put in the knowledge section of an application...and an excellent way to get your foot in the door of many companies...heck just having forklift experience can really open up doors for careers in many different markets.

    The real trick, imo, to learning to drive stick is to learn to "feel" when the vehicle (whatever the vehicle is) is ready to shift. Learn the process (clutch, neutral, gas, gear, clutch) and imo more importantly learn the "why" of the process (ie the mechanics behind the scene), then leave the process to the subconcious and just let the vehicle tell you the when.

I can't believe utube took the most entertaining channel off the site. My grandsons are young boys and they have been driving farm equipment and trucks for years on their grandparents farm. It's what they do on farms and ranches. My dad always had my brothers outside working and they know how to do everything now. My sister and I worked in the house with my mom. All kids need to work like your kids and like my generation did. That's what's wrong with these young people now. Kids need discipline and love. I hope you guys get back on utube. When I started out, to put the clutch in I had to brace with the steering wheel and scoot my butt forward to push the clutch in, and not be able to see out the windshield (i.e. to stop). Then a "simulator supervisor" gave the all-clear on when to let the clutch out since i couldn't see until I had the clutch out. Rance may appreciate that bean bag behind his back to give him for more purchases on those pedals. Losing the spurs might help while his learning. His got a good instructor though. I don't think I'd be any better my first time. How's this dad person I keep hearing about, and is there a record number of dads in a row?

    I wager my 2 week paycheck that no YT employee can shift and drive that truck, let alone a manual shift vehicle

      100%. Here in Australia, we say manual cars are equipped with a millennial anti theft device. 😂
      We took our brand new Toyota landcruiser in for it's 1st service to Toyota. The young fellow (over 18, as we don't get a d/l til 18) who checks in your car and takes it back to the service area, was unable to drive it, he had to go inside and find someone who could drive a manual. 😂😂😂

    First and foremost, Rance, excellent job
    Second, I need to upgrade my simulator, mine doesn't have the add on for additional characters. LOL
    This one was truly fun to watch. Cool way to start the New Year. ABR #1
