- Myoglobin (symbol Mb or MB) is an iron- and oxygen-binding protein found in the skeletal muscle tissue of vertebrates in general and in almost all mammals and works like a oxygen storage protein. This video describes the structure function and oxygen binding kinetics
brother haemoglobin was the first protein whose structure was identified by x ray crystallography. the chemist won noble prize for it.
The crystal structure of hemoglobin was determined by Max Perutz and John Kendrew in 1959, while the structure of myoglobin was solved by John Kendrew in 1957. These discoveries were significant milestones in the field of structural biology.
you're the best Mr. Arpan. This helped me recap this topic really well
Really glad to know it was useful. You can support the channel by clicking on the super like icon below the video ( a heart sign with $ in it ) . You can support using paytm/ phone pe/ gPay / paypal. Your small contribution means a lot for me
Superb
Dear Sir, thank you so much for this video
How does smooth muscles function without myoglobin?
Dear Sir, Is there anything wrong with you? Hope you are fine in this pandemic. God bless you, Sir!
Are you alright, Sir? I no longer see your upcoming videos recently. Hope you are going well in this pandemic. God bless you, Mr. Arpan.
P/s: May I ask you 3 questions, Dr. Arpan? The first question is "I don't understand why mRNA is not degraded by RNase in the cytoplasm while it is no longer encapsulated by lipo-nanoparticle. I can't find the paper explains that mechanism, or maybe I am not good enough". The second question is "I don't know the mechanism of why lipid-nanoparticles don't surround the mRNA and release the mRNA into the cytoplasm. I only found the website of Precision which just said the reason lipid -nanoparticles don't surround mRNA because of the pH disparity between the cytoplasm and inner lipid-nanoparticles and it doesn't provide any papers?" If you have any answer or paper, please provide me, Sir!
Once again, thank you so much, Dr. Arpan. You are the best teacher!
may i ask, where does myoglobin were synthesis?? i searched for it all over the internet but still couldnt find one
Myoglobin, a protein responsible for oxygen storage in muscle cells, is synthesized primarily in muscle tissues. The synthesis of myoglobin occurs within the muscle cells, specifically in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and then continues in the cytoplasm. The process involves the translation of the myoglobin mRNA on ribosomes, and the subsequent folding and maturation of the protein.
Myoglobin is essential for oxygen transport within muscle cells, aiding in the storage and release of oxygen during muscle contractions.
Sir, can you suggest a conceptual book for *RECOMBINANT DNA TECHNOLOGY* .
Myoglobin structure contains 153 amino acids *** kindly correct that as some students rely on your videos
