Yes, that's an interesting tidbit when she says "He's actually my neighbor". It really reminds us how almost all artists, no matter what their outward style and other differences, almost all live in the same area. Sadly, no matter what they call themselves, they also have basically the same elitist politics, conciously or not. I still enjoy their music and the interview, though I'm puzzled that the guy was just now discovering Jean Michel Jarre.
This band is legendary status. Over 12 record and not one of them is a letdown. They inspire thousands of bands but unfortunately they don’t sell millions of records which at this point I wish they did. They deserve it!!!!
They indeed are legends. They don't have to sell tons of records to prove it. In fact I'd argue it's better that they have a niche and esoteric following than a mainstream following.
Was just thinking about this recently while revisiting their music, and decided to make a Blonde Redhead “best of/intro” playlist to hopefully turn others onto them. Their musical journey is fascinating and they are still the epitome of cool!!
Facts! They have a one of a kind sound that can’t replicated especially because of the vocals of Kazu or Amadeo. I always go back to their stuff, it’s truly addicting to me
@@quasiotter Tool fans are a strange bunch. One guy in my row booed them in the first song. Otherwise it was a great show. A friend I went with said he saw Melt-Banana open for Tool once. Now that's a show I would LOVE to see.

Is such a huge !!!! to have Philip Glass as a neighbour. Is amazing the chain conexion in musical interests and understanding from where comes the taste in artists.
These guys made some great selections! XYZ is a fantastic record! Brigitte Fontaine, Morricone, Kraftwerk, Fugazi and Nina Simone. I'm not too familiar with Blonde Redhead's music but that one song they recorded with David Sylvian is amazing!

I knew Guy Picciotto was involved in the creation of Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons, but it turns out he produced even more for them, huh, that's very cool to know. I'd love to see one of these done with Ian or Guy so much.
Saw them in Islington Town Hall in London and it was honestly the best gig I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a LOT of gigs! They aren’t even my favourite band (though they’re up there), they’re just so magical live and in a relatively intimate space! Recommend!
5:41 I heard this exact track about a decade ago. It was used in a promo video for the Lancia Stratos Zero concept car back in the 70s. Always loved that track and I completely forgot about it until I saw it mentioned here
I've had the absolute pleasure of seeing Blonde Redhead 3×'s. Loved that they were like lighting in a bottle at this particular show, at the Tabernacle (ATL).. They were touring with Interpol. Blonde Redhead is AMAZING!!! My heart skips a beat remembering this show.
