+Holly Knight We used to listen to your album while driving on vacation from Texas to Colorado. The songs are so great. I never understood why many of these didn't make it to the top. I think it must have been lack of exposure. It certainly wasn't lack of talent. They are timeless. Still great to listen to 30 years later.
Damn, I didn't realize that this was Holly Knight, she's a heavy hitter in the songwriting department, and she's hella gorgeous. I wish this band would've got more airplay.
The sad part about Device is they never had a chance to get any traction. Great musicians, singers and song writers. A crying shame as they were much more talented than many bands that hit it big at that time.
There were too many bands like them at the time. They were competing against Animotion, Romeo's Daughter, Eurythmics and various bands produced by David Foster and Robert Mutt Lange.
Agreed t a pint…as I have their first album then, and I’m a big glam, hard melodic Rocker, but like the English invasion of the 80’s , Aussie bands.. of course, that singer went to Animotion…there hit! @@matthewprince9705
Holly Knight was an east coast killer queen on the keys! If I were doing session work in the 80s, I'd have done anything for a chance to work with her. She can rip, she can write, and she can dance! She seems to be a pretty cool person as well.
I'm grew up in the 80's only recently heard of this band.....man this band is awesome love all their music.....and this guy can really sing....wish i could relive the 80's .
It's the best song I've ever heard, I was born in 1985 but I would have loved to be a teenager in the 80s, an American teenager would have been even better
I remember hearing the song Hanging on A heart Attack from Device in the mid 80's. As a young soldier getting station in West Germany I was always trying to keep up with them. Some of the best music came from the 80's and Device one of those bands who should have been top 20. 💝💝
My two year old would walk around the house singing the chorus of this song back in ‘86….Who who who says! It just came up in my feed right now. Thanks for the great memory RUclips! ❤
Truth. He just stands there like a statue, therefore proving that it's not that easy to walk away from you. Must be the leather chaps constricting things. All kidding aside Holly, I loved this album back in the day and it still has a place in my collection. Thank you!
Holly Knight and anyone else from Device, who follows these RUclips posts, I am a child of the 80's and NEVER heard of you or your band. And I AM PISSED!!! You are all amazing. I just happened to stumble on your videos and music and I am HOOKED. I am really upset I missed you in your hey day, but just SUPER EXCITED, I found you now. Went to I Tunes and bought your album and have not stopped pause, since. Love You, and wish you all well!! Keep Rockin'
I spent many years in the late 80’s and early 90’s programming top 40 radio stations. We played the crap out of this song as well as Holly Knight’s song Heart Don’t Fail Me Now. I absolutely wanted her to make it big!!!!
I really miss to heard this song... It was so many years than i don't listened! 'Who Says' was played already in Brazil on the 80's, but... Was forgot on the time! To me, it's badass still today!
Holly Knight did GREAT WORK, made her best! Every song is a little piece of gem... Who knows how many more hits they would have been produced before 80's ended.. Such an unfare and sad story in music history...
Thanks mom and dad for playing this album during your house parties when I was sleeping in my bedroom as a 4 year old, then g😮rew up knowing the words to all these songs.
Still a good song. Used to listen to this song over and over again for a long time. Thought it was a metal band till I saw it here recently. Before that, have completely lost track of song title and name of band, and took me 25 years to figure out. Dame!!
I loved this song in the 80s. I just heard One of The Living from the Max Max Beyond Thunderdome movie and wanted to know who wrote it. Turns out Holly Knight is a very accomplished singer/songwriter. Not because she won a Grammy, but because she has written some good songs. I still live this song. I'm listening to it in August 2017.
Wow! First time i actually see the chick in the band. She's astoundingly gorgeous! She's by far one of the most beautiful babes i actually admire. Great band, awesome music!
I don't think I've ever heard a Mike Chapman production that wasn't cool and good. A good Songwriter and Producer all in one. Hope he does more before all is said and done.
no he didn't pay anything and asked me for my blessing and I said no and he took it anyway. thanks for your comments
Holly Knight
+Holly Knight are you on facebook ?

Ohhh!
WTF?
Holly Knight? Really?
You are so fucking awesome!
holly knight i love you
Holly Knight dam holly....ur a beut!
Big hair, synths, melodic rock, DMX drum programming = 80s heaven :D
And oh man is that DMX hammering it out! That tambourine pounding out those 8th notes and the "rock" snare eprom are to die for :D
and unnecessary Chap-wearing!
Good days man!
@@Jackhammer69able 😂🤣😂
It's 2023. Who's with me! This band need to make live comeback 🙌
How on earth was this band not ENOURMOUS!!!!!!?????
They should have been everywhere you looked in '86.
This song kicks as much ass as it did in 1986
This is the best unknown superband in the world!
Exactly. Perfect!!!!
Super band?
Are each member from different band's throughout the 70's-80's?
Or are you referring to them being a badass band?
It’s a mystery on the 86 made to be honest with you
I can’t believe this group didn’t make it huge! This is a masterpiece!
I also think it is masterpiece

Device should have been huge. They had all the songs, the production, the look...just not the marketing.
There were too many bands like them at the time. They were competing against Animotion, Romeo's Daughter, Eurythmics and various bands produced by David Foster and Robert Mutt Lange.

Holly Knight and Michael Chapman were an 80's songwriting dream team!

22B3 is the best album. Holly, Paul & Gene should reunite for a show. Play the whole album in it's entirety.
I have 3 copies of the album on vinyl. It's my favorite of all time.
Three letters - W O W ! A massive 80s hit rediscovery!
Miami Device!!!
REAL music, REAL talent and great hair... timeless!!

So underrated
Holly Knight, beautiful and amazing lyricist, Paul Engemann's voice is mesmerizing
BEhind all this ´80, there is one hell of a song! Thank you Holly!
Love Device , Love Holly Knight........Their one release remains a classic to me.I still have it on vinyl and CD .
This whole album is awesome! I have the cassette from back then. "Pieces on the Ground" is the best song on it though, bar none!
I never noticed before...but...that drummer...is so Terry Bozzio... The kit setup...the funky pads/triggers...he even moves like Terry....

Boya Baliram Same with me! 💙💛💜
He's the best uncle as well
Likewise!
One of the best - and most underrated - bands from the 80s. 22B3 is one of my favorite albums to this day.
The 80's was the coolest music and fashion generation ever.If any of you guys invent a time machine.....pleeeeeeeeeease, let me on it?
Never heard of this group. They seem good though! The chick is hot too reminds me of Troi from Star Trek and an actress named Perry Reeves.
It's the best song I've ever heard, I was born in 1985 but I would have loved to be a teenager in the 80s, an American teenager would have been even better
This is the type of songs you have to turn it all up to enjoy it 🤘🏻
Profoundly Underrated band from the 80’s!
Great Writing(Holly)!
Great Vocals (Engemann)!
Great Guitar(Black)!
They’re rated perfectly.

This song deserved more than a #79 showing on the Hot 100. It's a crime!! The hook is amazing and the song rocks!!!
This great song really took me by surprise!!!Oh man just how many awesome and classic songs did the 80's had???The golden era of rock!!!!!!

Oh man, thank you so much for trying. Strange how fickle the music industry and we humans are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I appreciate your effort. Holly should have made it big, but she did write a shitload of songs for othes that made it huge.
Holly's solo album is quite underrated. Heart Don't Fail Me Now is so good.
Why Dontcha Luv Me Like You Used To is her best song ever.
She really did make it big through other artists ..top forty doesn’t always mean greatness.
Awesome hi tech AOR. One of the best songs from this genera. Thank you Device. You guys rule!
Fantastic harmonies in the chorus

The song just sounded so good and it is.
