"Out of the Silence" is probably the best damn record I've ever heard! Not one bad song in sight! I listen to it on Vinyl, it can not get much better than that!
I was very lucky to see them during this tour, they were the opening act for Europe. The following morning I bought their cd, and after, some 20 plus years...I still have the original...
Loved Dare (and especially Raindance). I think the verse is so strong on Abandon - who needs a chorus? Darren is pure hot and I was straight at the time!
I think the reason people think this music is cheesy is because it's very innocent. It's cheesy but endearing. I'd jam to this while driving down the road :)
I was then they opened for Europe me and my two friends we got to meet them they came out after the show I was lucky enough to get to wear his hat around and gave pics took in it sure wish I had them now. They also gave us there address and numbers. How cool. That was the great days.
I was lucky enough when they opened for Europe in Germany I got to meet them and they was great I came to see Europe but hung out with them as soon as the got off the stage I even was special enough to wear one of the guys hat with teeth around and have our pics took in it there a great band. just found this video of this song this past weekend while looking for another band's video and all I can say is WOW. what a great song that takes me back to the days of great sounding music from the eighties that rocked compared to the crap being made in the 2000's. people at work tell me that I need to get with the times music wise but i'll take this kind of music any day over miley cyrus, Justin Bieber or pink and others from today's music
You listen to your good 80's music and have your work buddies get their ears raped by today's shit. Maybe, if you play it long and loud enough, they will get converted. For my life I can't figure out why anybody would listen to today's music (gosh, I don't even want to call it music).
Bugs me when people say "Hey, the good stuff from the 80s is way better than the bad stuff today!". Well...obviously? You compare the well known and established bands to something mediocre like Bieber and think it's a fair comparison? There was plenty of crap in the 80s, too. Just like there's good stuff now. Now, I find it difficult to argue that the 80s was an amazing time for music, I love anything 80s even if it's kinda bad. Still has that 80s charm to it. But to completely discount this generation of music does yourself a disservice, I think. Just don't listen to stuff that sucks and you'll be fine =)
+Daniel Friant Well that depends entirely on your own musical tastes now, don't it? I like Foo Fighters, for instance. I like in This Moment and Within Temptation. I imagine a lot of people think they suck. To say ALL modern music is crap is silly, IMO. There will always be something you like out there.
Awesome. This video was played a lot on a UK late night rock show of the time called The Power Hour and later Raw Power. Keep rockin droogies, boozers, losers and strumpets!

The Album abandon is my Favorit from dare, i am a Fan more than 30 years. I See dare live i was 18. In germany in ludwigshafen aß openingact from europe. I love IT.
Terrific, saw Dare 'live' at the Irish Club in Digbeth, Birmingham on the 'Out of the Silence' tour in '89/90.........loved 'em then.......still do...........vastly under-rated.
If you abandon me Tonight will last foreverI'm stranded here inside this prison called my soul If you abandon me You turn your back forever You will abandon me!!
Professor Brian Cox the Dave Bryan of soft rock keyboard.Bon Jovi and Dare were my guitar rock I used to jam my guitar in the 80s to.Inbtween of Ratt,Poison, Faster Pussycat,Dokken, White Lion, saw most of these bands at monsters of rock donington in the 1980s but the one that I will never forget was Van Halen at the donington 84.Was 18 and it blew my mind, didn't drink didn't do any drugs , the music of the time took me there..
I listened to the Infinity Monkey Cage and this appeared due to Prof Cox. Never heard it before. He said they were aiming to be Oldhams version of Bon Jovi. Don't know about that but this is a great track. Love the 80's!!!!
Literally never heard of this band before. I looked them up because one of the band members is on Married at First Sight UK 😂 they’re a decent 80s rock and roll band. Catchy music ❤
So many great bands from that era. But many were unknown. Because too many came out around similar time, thousands. Not all can become super popular. I hated the crappy grudge that came after.
See them play back in I think 1988 as a support band before Kiss if I remember correctly. Amazing band but also the year before I seen a band called Strange ways support Europe on the final countdown concert and they were amazing as well. So many great support bands in the day at that time.
@@beatricelundin7006 sadly we can't choose when we are born but do understand, I have always said I was blessed being born in 68 so the 80's was the biggest moment in music 🎼 it changed so much good or bad in society but younger people don't understand sometimes. Others say the 69's were the best music and time's maybe! But seeing both Strangewways and Dare was amazing looking back to the late 80's.
Only like this band because of Brian! I don't remember them back when I was a child though which is odd since both parents were big rock and metal fans
Awesome band, song and album. Shame I heard about this band 20 years later it had come out. Not enough advertisement, but now that I found you...You'll be around as long as I listen GOOD music.
actually, he does kinda look like kip winger, good catch! but, he is actually playing the "keytar"". the lead singer/keyboard player is, darren dean wharton, who was the keyboard player on thin lizzys last 3 albums, chinatown, renegade, and thunder and lightening. i always thought the guitar on this particular track sounded like john sykes, which shouldn't surprise me, as sykes and wharton both played in thin lizzy towards the end of phil lynotts thin lizzy.
great album, great musicianship that's what "DARE" of U.K. finest supergroup really is melodic, catchy and big (A.O.R.) 1980s sounds!!! Like "ALIEN" meets " "STRANGEWAYS" pure gold!!!
Fuck, I was 18yo in '88 with the same curly hair. I still have the hair, not that long and I still listen to my rock bands in my 410hp car.
The 80's had the best Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Ballads, and most fun and serious music.
They certainly did. And superb guitar solos that metal bands don't do like they did.
80s forever
The Best band 80s
Still loving this excellent jam in almost mid 2024...TIMELESS !!
yeah!

Totally agree, there is very few new stuff with the feel the 80s had
Professor Brian Cox brought me here. The music made me stay!

You just blew my mind! I love the guy but didn't know this.
Who doesn't lived the in 80's will never feel what we felt.
Will Someone build a bloody Time Machine ASAP so we can get Back to these times , stick today's world , need the Past more now than ever !!!!
Out of the Silence is one of themost amazing AOR albums ever created
When it come to melodic rock, its a genre thats able to combine elements of pure beauty and kick assery. This song is no exception.
I just discovered this band today (january 31, 2021) and im lovin it. I guess its in my blood since i was born in 1985.
Darren Wharton has that husky romantic type of voice . Love it!
"Out of the Silence" is probably the best damn record I've ever heard! Not one bad song in sight! I listen to it on Vinyl, it can not get much better than that!

100% true! One of the finest bands, sadly under-rated in my Opinion
Blood from stone is my favorite but they've never done a bad album. The new song is amazing.
From Wales
I was very lucky to see them during this tour, they were the opening act for Europe. The following morning I bought their cd, and after, some 20 plus years...I still have the original...
Also seen them on this tour in Europe 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Me too!! 😍
Me to at Edinburgh playhouse ❤

Its not cheesey, its total alpha, theres too many beta males playing it safe now in music, these were amazing times,I loved them.
It's not cheesy
Forgot about this one. Awesome song! Miss the 80's and the music from that decade!
Saw them live a few weeks ago, they were aweosme
I remember hearing this song on the radio and instantly recognised it
Absolute banger of a song
Is Brian Cox still in the band?
Nope
I saw these guys in Germany 1988 opening for Europe. Awesome!

How great is line I'm stranded here inside this desert called my soul. Timeless music.
What a magnificent melodic hard rock!..
I loved the 80's and 90's. Best time to grow up in and has the best music. Haven't liked any mainstream music since 1998.
One day every trap/reggaeton fanatic will start cranking these power ballads out of their boom boxes--and the dancing will begin.
Still love this song as much as I did when I first heard it in 1988, awesome song.

The light of day is fading fast outside
I cannot hide the way I feel inside, no
I learned to live with something I can't find
I will never learn
I will take my turn
I can't forget the things that you said to me
So deep inside my heart that can't break free
I can see your eyes
I can see what you're after
And it's no surprise to me
If you abandon me
Tonight will last forever
I'm stranded here inside this prison called my soul
If you abandon me
You turn your back forever
You will abandon me, yeah
And still alone here I hear her voice
It takes my breath away
I have no choice
I can see your eyes
I can see what you're after
And it's no surprise to me
If you abandon me
Tonight will last forever
I'm stranded here inside this prison called my soul
If you abandon me
You turn your back forever
You will abandon me
You will abandon me
If you abandon me
Tonight will last forever
I'm stranded here inside this prison called my soul
If you abandon me
You turn your back forever
You will abandon me
If you abandon me
Tonight will last forever
I'm stranded here inside this prison called my soul
If you abandon me
You turn your back forever
You will abandon me
Love this masterpiece!
I saw them when they opened for Europe at Birmingham NEC in 1989
WoW ! AOR perfection ❤🎸
Masterpiece!
These are some DEEP embrasure breathy AOR vocals. I love it!

This is great, but Blood From A Stone is still my all-time favorite. It was slightly edgier than this, but both are awesome. Very underrated band!
Brian was never really shown, he was and still is the most beautiful.

Darren Wharton the lead singer here was Thin Lizzys keyboardist, and the guy playing the keyboards in the background here is Professor Brian Cox.
