I hear you, though, how the hell could a band featuring songwriting legend(and keyboard/bassist)Holly Knight and Paul Engemann as a lead singer be anything less than a huge success? Freaking mystery to me. Paul moved on to front Animotion after Device for a couple years, but they barely used his vocal range….a total waste, in my opinion.
Holly and Paul in demand not many Artists have that skill New Wave here my era mid 80s 85-89.To be blessed and part of the greatest decade of all time never to forget miss it so much oh hail the 80s atmosphere could harp on and explain vibes and feelings like no other time or place in history
Holly Knight (keyboardist) was such a prolific songwriter back in the 80s/90s, penning many hits for artists such as Tina Turner, Heart, Cheap Trick, Pat Benatar, and Scandal. Guessing she’s long been retired. This Lp had some excellent tunes on it and it’s sad that the group only lasted a couple of years before disbanding.

At the time the song was at #45 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart, the three previous weeks it was at #35, that was also it's peak position on the chart, and it spent 14 weeks on the Top 100... And on the same 'Bandstand' show the group also performed "Who Say?", three weeks later on September 21st. it entered the Top 100 at #95, and four weeks later it peaked at #79 and stayed on the chart for 6 weeks...

it was indeed hard to put into a certain genre... but this belongs definitely into my Top10 of the 80's alongside the likes of Sweet Dreams. What a blend of melodic pop, wave, rock and and and... but what the hell did i know about the talents of Holly Knight at the time.. now i do, but back then, no clue... she's one hell of a good songwriter.

The woman in the group is Holly Knight, she wrote the hit song "Love is a Battlefield" made famous by Pat Benatar. Knight would later release her own version of it on her self-titled album.
Paul Engemann looks like an actual lion here, young with a glorious mullet and pushing a sexual energy with those leathers haha This band should have made a few more albums together. I wonder why they only made one 🤔🤷♂️
