Saddest moment in gaming history :'(
+Maseehullah Kathrada yep but one of the best games ever made for sure ( my favorite for ps3)
Oh yeah definitely .. One my favorite games too. I just hope they do a second part.
Maseehullah Kathrada `Not gonna happen. It's been almost 6 years so ... They didnt even release a PC version. But a great game and sad.
Oh most defintely.
+DALLAS TV You never know with Rockstar...
Gotta say, THE BEST game without a doubt.
Oh heck yeah
oh fuck ya bro
Hcc Tendeep Of course it is!
Yeah RDR was the best game until Rockstar release Red Dead Redemption 2
How do you feel now?
My papa passed on and this song makes me bawl he was a good man treated everyone with respect kept in good shape even running at 90 I miss him every day. I promised to look after grandma for him. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
I can't with youtube comments (no hate tho)
Looool@OmaewamouShindeiru-oy7vi
@OmaewamouShindeiru-oy7vihe was usually the best man I can turn to for anything and helped those who needed it taught me everything I know how to survive. So yeah it hurt like a knife to my heart when he passed on
@@raseblueberries4871thank you he is now at peace with loved ones
May he rest in peace.
[crying and banging on the ground] HE DIDNT DESERVE IT HE JUST WANTED TO LIVE WITH HIS FAMILY
I like how theres not music just that beautiful voice
exactly
+Peter Clanton The voice *is* the music. It is the magic.
+Peter Clanton that's william elliot whitmore he is amazing
I never even noticed that
I cried like a baby
I cried like a little bitch 😭
+Dan 7 bytche
Same I was like it’s so unfair and was genuinely sad
When I hear this song, it makes me gain a serious mind-set. And that's why I like this song. Because it doesn't talk about how many girls you got, or how you live in a mansion. It hits the soul, well, for me anyways
Quite a lot of the artist's music is like this (William Elliott Whitmore). Look up Cold and Dead...
R.I.P. John Marston
Playng with Jhon in red dead 2 when you know her Destiny in red dead 1 IS very sad
Sorry if my english is bad Im spanish and I dont know much english

I absolutely loved this game and is easily the most memorable game I have ever played in my life. That being said, I wouldn't have the game end any other way than rockstar making us fall in love with John and then killing him. That's what made the game great, that's what made it the best. It was a beautiful game that didn't put its entire prominence on being a great online game, while it still was great online. Games now just don't have the same storyline or connection with characters.
that's what upsets me about new games. single player characters are just dudes you control and that's all. gta games can't even be compared to rdr in terms of storyline. everything was spot on in rdr I mean voice acting, graphics etc. it's not a game it's art. even the undead nightmare, even tho it's storyline is so short, is enough to connect the player to the character. that's just what you don't get with new games. I hope rdr 2 will not be that multi main character shit they better have one main character in single player.
@@Oxenan17 Your wish came true.
@@LuckiestDuckies it sure did
I think I want this song playd at my funeral
RIP John Marston ( until he comes back as a zombie lol)
+Ciaran Parker btw, you can escape the ending of Red Dead Redemption and not die, keep on trying to run away and it works.
+Official Siri where dafuq you seen this
+Shaian A youtuber, I don't know his name, but he showed him at the end of the game and running off into Jack and Abigail's direction, and Edgar Ross will think your a coward and he will walk off with the others, I tried it a couple times and on the 6th time I got it.
Official Siri I don't think so dude
Well, it works.
Let's all hope red dead 2 is a prequel and we can play as john again
Lmk your thoughts on RDR2, if you’re still here
You do, but you’ll miss Arthur
We can in the epilogue
I went into the stages of depression and sorrow
1. I was mentally cut off from the world I wouldn't talk about RDR to anyone
2. Denial- I thought he wasn't dead I looked for ways to make him live again
3. Acceptance- I accepted he died but I didn't want to I knew his life was over
4. Sorrow- I felt a emptiness inside myself I could never fill
But now I realize John Marston died protecting what he loved the most and for that I respect him.
R.I.P forever John Marston
Rockstar, killing his main characters since 2010
more like since 2003
stevenisminecraft I still refuse to believe that was Victor, they were nothing alike.
ok...
Hi everybody
Just finished the game, don't think i'll ever find a more emotional, musical game.
R.I.P John Marston
Same
+Ángel Nobody oh well the games been out for like 5 years lol
what? and marty is stuck in the future.
I cried then had to see john again
Red Dead was a long game which actually took my interest throughout the whole game. I'm still playing it to get 100% completion. It's a masterpiece just like the western movies (Once Upon A Time etc.)
RIP John
Lads, Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer has been released on the official RUclips account of Rockstar!
:( and now they're taking forever to update us, all we got since then is UNDER 10 screenshots and a Delayed til 2018 notice.
Nobody got sad for the old man who died
i did
I did.
Bet they do now.
Who else cried when listening to this, and always will cry when you hear it
actually felt my heartbreak *spolier* when john died... it was so unexpected, i got so attached to john throughout the game that it felt like i was watching a family member die in front of me. one of the finest games ever made, not just in great gameplay, but in the amazing storytelling
Best game I've played in my opinion
same
I was a junior in high school when this game came out, and I watched my older brother play Red Dead Revolver before that. I remember how much fun Red Dead Redemption was. I played the online multiplayer with my buddies all the time, thought the single player story was incredible; storytelling, missions, and gameplay were amazing as per usual of Rockstar.
I also remember how shocking and sad the death of John Marston was. Playing as Jack afterwards had this hollow, empty feeling to it. And then the bastards at Rockstar did it again to me and everybody else with RDR2 🤣 This song definitely stood out though, RDR1 felt much grittier and bleak compared to RDR2. Arthur gets that last ride song and the last May I Stand Unshaken before he dies, but you know his death is coming at that point in the game. You only realize John’s demise is nigh during that final mission, and it’s so much more brutal with no nice music to accompany it. Except this perfect piece right here 💯
Am I the only one that almost cried over the ending? Even though it's a video game, they made it so well. I felt their every emotion. This game is bound to be a classic.
I'm here for the Engineer.
The ending of Red Dead made me finally realise how Video Games can be considered art. So many people believe they melt your mind and cause violence, but its more than that. Most games cant pull any emotion from you, but their are exceptions, and Red Dead is one of them.
this song is HARMFUL for health !
How?
+Venom Snake a melted heart cant work bro
Oh
Red dead redemption 2 is on the way!
Any other reports, Captain Obvious?
@@MJroxOXO I'm from the future he was correct
Yes@@TheGigaRad
I feel like johns death was more sadder then authurs
I agree.
way more brutal
It was shocking I bawled when he died
I want this playing at my funeral
Same
that the song if i die fighting in north korea
No book or movie or ANYTHING has ever hit me as hard as Red Dead Redemption and its ending. It reminded me of losing my grandparents. When it occurred to me what had happened, I literally dropped my controller and stared at the screen. At that very moment, my girlfriend walked into the room and asked what was wrong. I just looked at the screen, my mouth slightly open. I felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach, like I'd just lost a loved one. It still hurts to think about!
Red dead redemption is one of the best games ever, and even thought john dies this song wraps the ending up well
Over one and a half year ago, I borrowed and started playing RDR from my friend, who just completed it. Shortly after, he committed suicide and we buried him. Listening to this song almost makes me cry. I think that most emotional moment of it is paradoxally the moment of silence at 1:02.
"Oh bury me not on the lone prairie."
Where the coyotes wail and the wind blows free.
And when I die, don't bury me
beneath the western sky, on the lone prairie.
1st part
"Oh bury me not on the lone prairie."
This words came soft and painfully
from the pallid lips of a youth who lay
on his dyin' bed, at the break of day.
he fought for what he was told was right, the poor sweet fool he was.
I live in Chicago and work at 3am. I have no car and this is the songI listen to every morning headed out in the cold snow. Thank you Red Dead.
every once in a while we get a game that will last in our memories forever and while it may not have had a happy ending it was one of the most emotional games ive ever played and is ending was definatly worthy of remembrance. well done rockstar
Months later, I'm still slightly traumatized from when I first heard this in the game. Man, best game of the year by far. Maybe of the decade.
this game ending flipped me around. i couldn't believe john was gone.
this was one of the best games i ever played, i felt like i was john and i thought it was gunna end many times before it actually did and when he was on his way back to his ranch i felt satisfaction and while i was doing missions on the farm i felt like they were really my familly and when they cut down john and this song started playing, i almost started crying
I put away red dead stupidly a long time ago and just beat it yesterday and Im still amazed. Video Games can indeed be used to be told intricately detailed beautiful stories.
Every single time I hear this song, I stard crying.. Thank you, Rockstar... agaiin... thank you for another wonderful game!
most emotion I have ever felt in any video game ever... hands down the saddest and most depressing video game ever...
This song alone made me get all of W.E.W's music. And I do not regret it.
When I started playing this game, I was thinking of all the old folk songs of the west and this was in my head sometimes
but then when I actually heard it in the game...
wow
this just made a chill run down my spine when this started at the end
Finished yesterday. And when this song came on I was like goodbye John Rest in Peace.
I cried when he died. There's a bond formed when you play this game and it shows it's not just some random shooter it's an experience. Also every time I hear "Bury Me Not On The Lone Prairie" I have to hold back tears.✞R.I.P✞ John Marston
just replaying red dead and this song still gives me the shivers, amazing game !
"This boy was brought up in a time of blood and dying and never questioned a bit of it. He never turned his back on his folks or his kind. I rode with him... and I got no complaints." - The Outlaw Josey Wales
john- buried with one hope a better life for his boy- forever buried on the lone prairie RIP
I like the way this artist sings this song
I didnt even played this game, just watched ending and this song made me cry
i cry almost every time i hear this. reminds me how sad RDR ending was
This song always gives me chills...
John did so many good things in his life. But he did do bad things before, but he really had changed. With all of the good deeds he did, in the end it came down to his life. He was an awesome cowboy of the west. R.I.P. John Marston. You will NEVER be forgotten
I'm playing through RDR for the third time, and it's still just as good as the first two times. The greatest game I personally have ever played
This ending and Metal Gear Solid 4 one are the most epic and yet the most emotional I've ever exprienced
This song is great for summer evenings with the campfire, if you either have or don't have an acoustic guitar.
Hearing something this amazing gave me goosebumps.
That's the point. It's supposed to be sad, that's how the message gets through.
When I finished the game and the credits rolled i stood up and applauded
i honestly welled up with tears when john was killed. he was such a rugged figure, yet, had a soothingness to him
It's not tears, not tears at all.
this was the second game that made me cry. the ending destroyed me because no matter how hard you tried to resist, you always lost the final standoff against the army.
okay i havent cried when i was harshly dumbed, or when my father died.
this made me break down in tears so much so i didnt go to work that day.
even thou i have beat this game many times whenever i beat it i still have tears in my eyes
@GrubRising13 pretty much, they promised to let his family guy, but didnt say they would let him go after he took his former brothers out, so thats what he had to see was that the government agents of that time always knew how to get around in loop holes
That whole time in Beecher's Hope, I was thinking "This far too happy to be over something has to happen."
Just love then song I cry when I hear William's songs best songs,God bless William.
Still playing RDR 2017. It is the saddest moment off the game R.I.P 1873-1911 John Marston R.I.P 1877-1914 Abigail Marston Made me cry a bit just thinking that they took his life so young and left his family alone.
legit the first time i cried playing a video game was this one.
Beautiful song. Heart wrenching scene. Amazing game.
I have never gotten more attached to a character then John.
I can't listen to this without having me reminded of John's death and crying....
R.I.P John Marston.
You were a great shot, a great sport, and I'm not ashamed to say that I played as you on Red Dead Redemption, and I think I speak for all of us.
This was one of the most amazing games i've ever played. John was the best character Rockstar ever made, and one of the greatest fictional characters ever.
this song mad me cry because i lost my dog to cancer a few days ago, he was a black lab and we lived in the country , i miss him so much
Damn I watch ur vids and here I am seeing a comment from you 13 years ago
@saulgoodman2071 wow I totally forgot about this. Thank you for commenting and reminding me! His name was Boone, and there hasn't been a day without him in my thoughts.
Touches a gamers heart. I cried at the end. This is a beautiful game.
Ive had this game since day one, and have taken my time enjoying it for so long, i completed it this morning and i have to say, Rockstar dont just make videogames, they make a real world environment come to life! Rockstar truely have nailed the western setting, and well if this isnt rated Game Of The Year, then i will honestly lose all hope on game critics.
Such a eery, but beautiful song. John was one of my favourite characters ever. Rockstar did such an amzaing job.
i didn't cry at the end but i was in shock for the whole day
You know, I may be the only one, but I cried like a baby. And I will not deny it! I made it 30 seconds into this song before I cried.
Amazing how rockstar took a almost two dimensional hero and in the last second made him one of the most amazing hero's ever in a game.
By far the best song from Red Dead Redemption.
it wouldve been sooo epic that after he says on the lone prairy for the second time, harmonica and other stuff apears and it becomes a song with a melody!
One time when i played this over at a friends, he had completed it. And i walked to John's grave, in the white suit, and i sat there for ages. And jack actually looked pretty damn sad.
R.I.P. The best Cowboy ever, John Marston.
@JDempsey23 he didnt try to be heroic.. in the end he realized that his past will never let him go, he looked at the bright side.he raised a son to take after him..so he decided to stop running , and went outside and faced his past like a man. (i inferred all this from when he took a deep breath before he opened the door.
A great videogame should make you feel like you're a part of the action, like you're at one with the main character. And that's what Red Dead does so well.
During this ending, when you see John cut down..it's a truely emotional moment, the grief of seeing John die..and the satisfaction of playing as Jack and gunning down Edgar Ross.
Getting to know John, and love him. And get attached to him. And then he has to die such a dramatic and devastating way. Damn you RockStar...
This song is haunting and chilling, much like the memory of John.
When this song started to play at the end I cried :( now every time I play RDR I get up to the last mission stop and start playing undead nightmare.
So many manly tears fell once this started playing.
RIP John Marston.
What goes around comes around Edgar. Rest in pieces.
I love this so much, whitmore has an awesome voice
From outlaw, to family man, to rancher. But, always a Hero always a good man.
this song always makes me sad
But we buried him there, on the lone prairie
where the rattle snakes hiss and the wind blows free.
In a shallow grave, no one to grieve
beneath the western sky, on the lone prairie.
"Oh bury me not on the lone prairie."
These words came soft and painfully
from the pallid lips of a youth who lay
on his dyin' bed, at the break of day.
On his dyin' bed, at the break of day.
What I found amazing in Redemption's story--Each act shows what John will do for his family. In the first one, he helps West Dickens cheat and lie--and boy does he kill for a cause. In the second act, he freely swaps sides between the Mexican army and rebels, depending on who can help him more--and he tortures De Santa. In the third arc, he goes against a man who's as good as his own father. In Act 4 Marston dies for his family, to let them be free of the persecution that'd follow them otherwise
@BionicleChicken66 actually the most likely thing was that she died from old age, she was somewhere between old and young when john was alive, when you see Abigals grave Jack is an Adult, he burys her as an adult, thats why he goes back there.
