I had a friend tell me about that. Unfortunately due to yold I never managed to play rdr in PS3 and I played after finishing 2 for the first time last summer. One day after I beat it it came out on PS4 and I bought it not proud because it was cash grab but the game was awesome .

I don't think playing RDR2 before RDR1 is exactly a great opportunity. I still feel playing RDR1 before RDR2 is the right way to go, it really gives that intense feeling of dread in RDR2 as you progress the story.

But the Optimism and Hope that Players from RDR2 will have when they go into the first game is something i wish i could experience.

RDR1 is better than RDR2 for a lot of reasons, The Soundtracks that feels like old western movies and they all very memorable, the whole unmatched unique wild west vibe that the game has, way more memorable and charismatic side characters that you spent more time with, main story being very personal about family and sacrificing yourself for then. RDR1 story is better in general, while RDR2 is the exact same basic story from every GTA game about a group of thiefs trying to get rich killing and robbing, RDR1 is about a bounty hunter that was a criminal in the past redeeming himself while trying to save his family from the government. RDR2 only things better were in the technical aspect, like graphics and modern animations, everything else RDR1 done better. and John redemption is better than arthur too, john does good things from the beginning because he wants to his redemption is genuine, and not forced by a decease or fear of death, like Arthur parcial redemption was.
