Nate’s SNL was one of the best I’ve seen in years. It’s was easy to see how someone who has perfected comedy, specifically timing and delivery, adds an extra element.
The sketch was great, but Bargatze is wrong to claim he doesn't do "political," bc denying rights/agency to Black Americans IS political, and the sketch very lightly- but lethally- kept making that point. It would have been amusing without that, but lightweight The lasting quality, the gravity, along with the absurdity is key
My husband and I were in the audience for the live show (traveled from southern Oregon). We had the absolute best time and are so thankful we scored your episode!
Congratulations on SNL Brother. You crushed it. You will be hosting again. Foo Fighters were the musical guest, but you were the Rock Star. Rock on....Rock on...
Seeing Brian and Dusty be truly happy for their friend's success, and watching Nate take the time to look thru the gifts with genuine interest and appreciation actually made me tear up a bit. Just goes to show that truly none of this is lost on him!
When Dusty said he felt nervous for you because you’re his friend, I felt that. I was so proud that you made it through every word without stuttering or mispronouncing anything! Good job Nate!
Nate being on SNL got me to watch SNL for the first time in... maybe 10 years. He was HILARIOUS and I'm thrilled that he not only got that exposure, but that he knocked it out of the park. The opening monologue and the George Washington skits were highlights for me. Looking forward to Nate coming to Tampa in December!
As a fairly regular SNL viewer, Nate’s appearance was truly one of my favorites. Great writing and performance in all skits. Really impressed, but not surprised. Nate is ultra talented and just hitting his stride.
Lol I was in college 88-92 and a partier. But the show was so good we'd leave parties early to get home for it. Adam Sandler , Chris Farley etc.....But now? How do you watch it regularly now?
Best SNL is a long long time. The hallmark and George Washington sketch were hilarious. So proud to be a long time fan and get to see the success you earned! My mom, my sister and my self will be in Orlando in February. Also thank you for your reasonable ticket prices. I was almost afraid to look and was pleasantly surprised to get good seats!!
I loved this week's guest! He's so funny. It was cool to see Breakfast and Dusty land an SNL host as a guest on their podcast! In all seriousness, watching Nate on SNL was *unbelievable*. We're all so proud of him and we can't wait to watch the continued success of every one of you guys on the show. Keep up the good work!
I’m a huge fan of SNL. Nate killed it! His skits were perfect for him and showed off his superb comedic timing and delivery. The people at SNL have to ecstatic over his performance. With Nate’s specials and non-stop touring schedule, it was only a matter of time that SNL caught on. Congrats, Nate!
I yelled when it was announced that Nate was hosting. It couldn't have come to a better person. I've never been so excited for someone to get to host - I felt like I was getting to host! Way-to-go Nate!
You can tell how humble Nate is by the way he doesn’t ever want to over share. We all just want to hear about his week and he’s worried it’s too much. What a stand up guy pun intended! Congrats Nate!
It’s funny but that’s exactly what we want. We want to know all of the things but Mr. Humble is worried about it coming off as bragging! That’s why we love him!
You da man Nate...... You killed it on SNL. The George Washington skit was funny as hell, and i been singing lake beach to myself all day! I watch SNL every week for the last 25 years or so. Since 4th grade, and yours is one of my favorites.
I love how many times Nate said, “I hope people like this.” He’s so considerate to his fans and wants to give his best to everyone. Even if the behind-the-scenes wasn’t interesting (which it was) we’d all be here for it anyway. Congratulations, Nate - you deserve to celebrate - thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
I’m certain this podcast saved my life. I stumbled across it in 2021 during a super hard time in my life and after 3 weeks of binge listening to catch up I realised that laughing with you guys everyday was healing me! From laughing so hard no sound comes out, to tearing up when you celebrate each others wins- the Nateland podcast brought me back to life. The snowballing of the whole gang’s success is so well deserved- thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I didn't know who you were before a few days ago, but bro you absolutely CRUSHED SNL!! Easily one of the best shows in years, i really hope they have you on a bunch of times!! Keep doing you, man. I look forward to bingeing all your stuff over the next few weeks lol
I’ve never met Nate or even seen him live but some reason I feel like I needed to reach out to my “buddy” and tell him what a great job he did and how happy I am for him. It’s strange how I consider him a friend. You’re a pretty cool guy when people feel this way about you.
Thank you all SO much for doing this podcast! I felt like a fly on the wall listening to Brian and Dusty ask all the questions your fans would want to know about your incredible experience, Nate. Yes, we all wanted to hear and share in your SNL journey. Really happy Brian got to be there, too! The GW skit - it was like watching a classic Carol Burnett show episode with Harvey Korman and Tim Conway! As so many have said, we feel so much pride and happiness for you. It's only fitting you should get so much joy from a moment in your life as we get from hearing and watching you.
My Parents and I love the podcast and they watch it on their TV every week like it's any favorite TV show they've ever had. When I we first started talking about Nate hosting SNL they said "We're really proud of him" which stuck out to me and really shows how the genuine nature of this show and everyone on it is reflected in everyone listening. Love the show and congrats Nate! - Derek Brown
Not sure if anyone in the comments covered this but the Walken / Foo Fighters origin is actually GREAT - About 20 years ago when Foo Fighters were on SNL and Walken was the host, Christopher asked Dave for the correct pronunciation of the band's name, he specifically asked if the emphasis was on Foo or Fighters - Dave, knowing Christopher Walken's cadence, and being a comedy genius in his own right, purposefully told him the emphasis was on Fighters - So sure enough - When Walken introduced the band - It came out - "Ladies and Gentleman, Foo FIGHTERS" - it was magical - The call back this week was epic - Great job Nate - You crushed
These are my favorite type of episodes. Nate asking if anybody really cared to hear in the beginning. YES!! I love the behind the scenes of comedy, SNL, heck even peanut butter sales! Behind the scenes and ranking food and animals! Can't go wrong (LeAnn Morgan is always fun to watch also) love this show and its evolution (devolution?) ❤
Congratulations on hosting Saturday Night Live Brother. You crushed it. You will be hosting again. Foo Fighters were the musical guest, but you were the Rock Star! Rock on....Rock on...
Could not wait to hear all about Nate's amazing week. Thanks for the behind the scenes play by play. It was hands down one of the best SNLs I've seen in a while. Hope to see you return. Outstanding job FB fan group, great gifts.
We had tickets for Indy's show on Saturday night but didn't go due to Nate on SNL. Turns out, I still got to see him live which was super fun. And the first time I've ever watched Saturday Night Live ACTUALLY live. Congrats Nate!
Everything about Nate's comedy and the podcast crew make me so happy. I have watched almost every single SNL episode and when I found out Nate was going to host, I freaked out. 1st time in many years that I stayed up to watch it live! Nate did an amazing job! So funny.
What a great episode Nate , loved hearing about your SNL week. Thanks for sharing and thank you Brian for all your notes. Glad you were there too. Nate you’re our baby and we are so proud of you. Your fans love you so much. ❤
"It was very written good." - Nate Bargatze. Quintessential Nate. Loved seeing you on SNL, loved that you set your standards about clean comedy in a non-threatening way but stayed honest to them. Good job Nate and crew!
I stayed up for SNL for the first time in many years! So glad to hear they respected you and your personality and I thought the George Washington sketch was so funny!!! Reminded me of old SNL!
I would not be surprised if Nate was nominated for an Emmy for the George Washington skit. It is hilarious!!! Love it and love ALL you guys!! We are having a good time!! Quick side note: I was so exited to hear that Brian was coming to Fort Worth, then I find out he will be here when I'm out of town, and I won't be able to make the show. I had a glimmer of hope when Brian mentioned he cancelled the show because I thought he would reschedule and I would be able to see him after all. Now, what???!!! not rescheduling?? Come on!!!
I'm trying to reschedule but I don't have a lot of bargaining power because I wasn't selling many tickets. Apparently a lot of people were going to be out town like you.
Hello folks. Hello Nate, Aaron (Panquin!)and Bosco! Loved loved loved seeing Nate on Saturday Night Live. Chef showdown was my favorite. I could tell Nate had a hand in writing especially in the George Washington skit. Thanks for a clean funny podcast with no politics!! Keep up the good work.
I haven’t watched SNL in YEARS, but my friend and I stayed up to watch Nate MURDER! It’s like watching a real friend achieve his dreams and I’m here for it! God bless y’all!
As excited as I was to watch SNL (made the whole family put it in the calendar) I was just as excited for this episode. I couldn't wait for all the blow by blow details and to share in the experience vicariously. Having seen Nate at a show in SLC just previous - it feels like I am way submersed in a theme and love every bit of it.
Started watching this at 5:00am. Fell asleep while listening and then dreamed that we were all at Nate’s house while he was telling his SNL story. Thanks for the cool dream - literally feel like I was there now! 😅
The food competition and George Washington skit was hilarious!! The measurement jokes had me laughing so hard!! And hallmark murder movie was hilarious too 😂😂😂 I’ll be going back and watching those skits a lot lol so good!
Congratulations Nate! From someone who discovered you by accident and been a fan of the podcast from early on, I feel proud of your achievements and look forward to your future success!
12 minutes in... Im glad John Mulaney has a friend like you Nate. He's been through a lot and I'm glad he's surrounding himself with good folk. And your team and comics there are awesome!
When my 14 year old daughter saw the first SNL promo, she laughed and said, "those aren't middle fingers. Nate wouldn't do that." Not only is it fun to hear the backstory, but also how Nate handled the situation, staying true to his convictions.
I haven't seen SNL in a long time maybe 20 years. But I downloaded the global app just for SNL. Great acting, loved the skits. The George Washington was my favorite. Can't wait to see you in a nateland produced buddy adventure comedy.
I watched SNL for the first time in many years purely because Nate was on. He did not disappoint! His monologue murdered! The sketches were all great as well! WELL DONE! Now I am looking forward to seeing Nate in Phoenix in April. FRONT ROW, BABY!
Felt such great pride watching SNL, cheering for Nate. It was so awesome. Enjoyed every minute. Washington skit was hilarious and happy to see the comments that America agrees
I rarely watch SNL but specifically sought this out b/c of seeing Nate’s specials. The Washington skit was hilarious as well as his intro to the show. Well done!
So when Nate talks about Seinfeld “grounding”…..that’s exactly what his comedy does for me. And this podcast! Met Nate at the Boise show and told him he was my mashed potatoes and THIS is exactly what I meant. You all are my comfort food-you are what grounds me when I’m dealing with the chaos of life.
Have loved all the specials from the beginning and followed for a long time but after the Hello World special I related so much to your background Nate (Karate Kid and Jesus having more fun than our era of Christianity) Then hearing your dad on the podcast 2 weeks ago made me connect more. Surprisingly stayed up for SNL and once again was so happy for a guy who simply stays true to himself Finally …I listened to this podcast this week. When your coming off of perhaps the biggest weeks of your career you call yourself “a vessel”, I’m so inspired to continue working at my own craft and being that vessel. The truths you live is why we love the laughs you give.
Nate, your SNL was the best one in many many years. All those old eras you guys reminisced about are long gone. I grew up on the “best of” DVD sets for Sandler, Mike Myers, Will Ferrell, and so many others. I’m 27 now and discovered you a few years back. To see you make your way onto that show, and deliver a political-free, clean show that was the funniest it’s been, was so awesome and inspiring. You are a gem. That show is straight dookie now and you made it not dookie. May God bless you.
Of the many words to describe Nate, faithful, generous, and humble are the topmost in my heart and mind. You represent a model of Christ in your speech and actions. We have watched your pods since the beginning and thus remained encouraged by you AND your cohorts. Speaking of them, we send our regards to Aaron, Dusty, and Bedazzled. Love the pod. Godspeed!
Nate I’m so sorry but I’ve never heard of you before SNL! Since SNL I’ve watched all your specials. You have a new fan for life. Amazing job, best monologue I’ve seen on the show…period. Love hearing all the behind the scene stuff!
Nateeeeee-illllled It!!! So funny, every skit, tailored to you perfectly and seriously hilarious! Please give us a sitcom 🙏💪🤩🎁 regular tv needs one!!! You deserve all the blessings, so do Dusty and Brian!!! We’ve ( my Hon) and I watched and listened to pretty much everything and saw you at our Palmer Ak State Fair ❤❤crushed! “slayed!”😂
Loved SNL. My entire family and I love the podcast and all of you! Thank you for all the fun you all bring to so many. Really happy to see the well deserved success!
I literally went from having no idea who you are, to one of my favorite comics because of SNL. Congrats on the success Nate, I'll see you here in Asheville in May
Nate, you crushed it on SNL. I've rewatched the entire show five times. I'm 63 years old, I watched the very first episode, it's my favorite show, I've seen the legendary episodes, I lived thru the early 80s episodes, and I can confidently tell you your episode was the best IN YEARS and it had all the right components of an SNL classic: great writing, great musical guest, and a great host. Your influence was in every sketch and Washington, The Cookoff, and Lake Beach video will become high profile SNL legends. 🫡🥳👌🏼👍🏼🙌🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I never watch SNL, but hearing Nate and the Foo Fighters were going to be on made me tune in. I love Nate's comedy, but I wasn't sure how he'd do in sketches. Who knew he'd be better than the musical guest that I really love. Chef Showdown was my favorite skit. Nate kept apologizing made me laugh so hard.
My husband and I were so excited for you and anticipating it as if we’re proud of our best friend! So proud! We’ve also been listening to Nateland and co with our 10 year old daughter, so we let her stay up late to watch the snl episode with us. She felt like such big stuff and absolutely loved the George Washington skit! Thanks for everything you do, specifically I’m making comedy a family event for us, even in a realm you were stepping into. We felt comfortable watching with our daughter because of the character we’ve seen from you. Appreciate y’all so much!
I hit yo see you in Fort Worth last weeks! Really fun time- Thanks for giving us the inside scoop on SNL . I was so hoping you would tell the details. It sounds magical! I loved the show!❤
Great episode of SNL! I hope meeting with Seinfeld means we’re gonna eventually see a new episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee with Nate Bargatze! Really looking forward to that🙏🏽
I haven't watched SNL in decades but I am a huge fan of Nate and it was hilarious 😂😂😂! Plus you know Dave is gonna be in a few skits and he's always funny ❤❤💜😂😂. Really happy Nate is getting attention. Such a natural!!
I have been watching SNL since I was a little kid and the episode hosted by Nate B. was the best I have seen so far! Highlights for me: George Washington sketch, and Foo Fighters "The Glass" performance.
Nate’s SNL was one of the best I’ve seen in years. It’s was easy to see how someone who has perfected comedy, specifically timing and delivery, adds an extra element.
Agreed!!!
ya, if anything I wanted him in more of them than he was
It’s the only one I’ve seen in years.
"The George Washington sketch...was very written good" - Nate (So glad Nate is back for moments like this!)
The Airplane one was funny too
😂😂😂
I have watched the George Washington sketch 5 times! It was hilarious because of Nate. They will be asking him back for sure.

It was a COMEDY SKETCH!!! Jeez!!
My husband and I were in the audience for the live show (traveled from southern Oregon). We had the absolute best time and are so thankful we scored your episode!
That George Washington skit was a throwback feeling skit. I literally slapped my knee. Hilarious!!!!!!
Congratulations on SNL Brother. You crushed it. You will be hosting again. Foo Fighters were the musical guest, but you were the Rock Star. Rock on....Rock on...
Yeah, that one will go down in SNL history.
“And the slaves, sir? What of them?”
“You asked about the temperature?”
“I did not.”
Such a great skit.

"How many feet to a mile?"
"5280. It's a simple number that everyone will remember."
I've watched that sketch so many times. Hilarious!!
Seeing Brian and Dusty be truly happy for their friend's success, and watching Nate take the time to look thru the gifts with genuine interest and appreciation actually made me tear up a bit. Just goes to show that truly none of this is lost on him!
Made my heart smile to be part of the group and join in the excitement
For sure
I believe Nate’s fans were more nervous about his performance than he was, but he blew it out of the water. 🎉🎉🎉
Yes. I was so worried to watch it.
Okay I'm so glad to hear this! I felt silly, but I was praying for him. Really wanted it to go well!
I was worried too. Not that we doubted him! I just wanted everyone to love him as much as we do ❤
I felt bad that I was worried for him😂 but he blew it away.
I was more concerned if he was going to be able to read the cue cards well 😂
When Dusty said he felt nervous for you because you’re his friend, I felt that. I was so proud that you made it through every word without stuttering or mispronouncing anything! Good job Nate!

It’s your humility that sets you apart and above - keep it going!
It makes me so happy that Brian got to be part of Nate’s big day! From the dead horse days to SNL, what a ride!
Brian deserves all of it. He’s such an asset to Nate.
Haven't watched SNL in over 10 years. Saw you were going to host and had to catch it. Great job. Nice to see a clean show.
Nate stays so grounded. You can tell how grateful he is. Stay true bud😊
He stayed true to his morals.
one of the freshest and funniest SNL's that i've seen in years. BIG CONGRATS Nate Bargatze!!!
As a fairly regular SNL viewer, Nate’s appearance was truly one of my favorites. Great writing and performance in all skits. Really impressed, but not surprised. Nate is ultra talented and just hitting his stride.

Surprisingly stayed up for SNL and once again was so happy for a guy who simply stays true to himself
Finally …I listened to this podcast this week.
Godspeed!
His episode was one the best front-to-back SNL's i've seen in awhile. CRUSHED it.
Nate, it was so nice of John Crist to let you borrow his clothes for the Lake Beach skit.
Been waiting for this podcast to hear Nate talk about his SNL experience. Great job Nate!
We all love you Nate .. love the band cause this is the real you . This made me cry when you got our gifts 🫶🏽
Your episode of SNL was the best one ever
Nate I’m so sorry but I’ve never heard of you before SNL! Since SNL I’ve watched all your specials. You have a new fan for life. Amazing job, best monologue I’ve seen on the show…period. Love hearing all the behind the scene stuff!
Dude was literally one of the best episodes of SNL in A LONG time. lol
Well-deserved, indeed.
Loved the Washington and Hallmark sketches, especially!
Nate’s gotta be the nicest guy in comedy. All this good stuff couldn’t have happened to a better dude. He even brought Cow to SNL! 😂
Congratulations Nate! Also, thank you to the team behind Nateland, you guys make my week that much more enjoyable!
I literally went from having no idea who you are, to one of my favorite comics because of SNL. Congrats on the success Nate, I'll see you here in Asheville in May
Didn't know who Nate is until SNL, he nailed it! Excellent job, greetings from Greece!
I loved the show!❤
the airplane lawyer sketch was a lot of fun!
Great episode of SNL! I hope meeting with Seinfeld means we’re gonna eventually see a new episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee with Nate Bargatze! Really looking forward to that🙏🏽
Nate absolutely killed SNL best guest since bill burr!!!
Best opening standup since I can remember, killer set !
I haven't watched SNL in decades but I am a huge fan of Nate and it was hilarious 😂😂😂! Plus you know Dave is gonna be in a few skits and he's always funny ❤❤💜😂😂. Really happy Nate is getting attention. Such a natural!!
We're seeing Nate in San Antonio in April! Allergies can be rough here so stock up on your meds!
I love how Brian is a friend and super fan of Nate! So cool! And I think Nate’s dream is a sitcom. SNL could be in the basket to make that a reality.
I have been watching SNL since I was a little kid and the episode hosted by Nate B. was the best I have seen so far! Highlights for me: George Washington sketch, and Foo Fighters "The Glass" performance.
