I was summoned to jury duty in downtown Portland for a 6 week trial. On the summons they recommended we take public transportation to avoid issues with parking near the courthouse. When I arrived I was informed the trial was for a man who stabbed people on public transportation. I was not selected, but I definitely did not enjoy the ride back home on the MAX line. This episode was great! Thank you for all the laughs, y’all are the best! 👍🏻 Go Jackets
Nate talking about rolling into church late reminded me of a time when our family of nine arrived at revival service to hear a visiting preacher who was friends with my dad. The congregation was already singing when we arrived. Assuming we were a few minutes late, the nine of us proceeded to the only pew where we could all fit-the front row, of course-with all eyes watching us. When the song ended, the preacher called on my daddy to say the benediction. The service had begun an hour earlier.
Aaron talking about Krispy Kreme giving out a donut per A on a report card reminded me of Pizza Hut having the Book It award, which is where if you read a certain number of books over summer break they would give you a personal pan pizza. I loved it. I still have my Book It medal on my shelf in my office.
Having a new ad about pest control without Dusty present felt like a slap in the face to his pest control career. Ants can’t hide from Pestie…? Keep up the good work fellas!
Bates is absolutely hilarious. He has some very slept on jokes which the other members of the pod fail to acknowledge. And Bates has a lot of good points during many discussions. Aaron and Nate are unfairly harsh to him. Bates is my favorite member of the pod
Came here from a TikTok clip of the donut bit, so am new to the pod and gotta say, it’s funny seeing that this dynamic is present here (one guy who’s kind of the outsider/runt of the group, but certain fans swear they’re gold). So many successful pods/shows with engaged fanbases have this dynamic. Forming a theory that it’s actually super engaging and good for building fandom. There’s in-groups and out-groups, and people in each think the other are wrong. I’m on a bender, but it’s fascinating to me right now. Wonder if these “social dynamics” of popular pods are being studied, and if there’s non-obvious dynamics like the “runt” that actually move the needle. Edit: through the bulk of this episode and this guy is a goober. Get the vibe that Nate legit doesn’t respect him? I’m intrigued either way, and kind of want to know more, which lends credence to the theory. It’s car crash-esque, will he embarrass himself even worse this ep? Will he have a zinger? Are they getting truly sick of him and think they need to remove him from the show? I think it adds an aspect that is prevalent in a lot of friend groups, and prob helps with the parasocial aspect of being a fan of a group of dudes hanging out/shooting the shit together. Every group has a runt. Also is he the guy who does the prep sheet? Any guy who wants to be on mic/cam and still has the task of the prep sheet has to be the runt 9 times out of 10

As a professional musician, everyone in my network is well aware of what plosives are. I don’t wanna make Nate’s head spin, but there’s also a term for when words have lots of “s”, “z”, or “ch” sounds called, “sibilance”. These terms are actually very practical when it comes to EQ’ing vocals because they signify a specific frequency range generally associated with those consonants.

Just got tickets to see Aaron in Lexington, KY this weekend and going to grab some to see Dusty in September in KY. Hope to see Nate and Brian one day as well.
Nate, your career has positively blown up and you deserve every bit of it! ADDITIONALLY, your success somehow makes me feel that this country is still at its core the country that I have known and loved for as long as I can remember which is most of 65 years. Your appeal seems ubiquitous. This was proved by your triumph at SNL One might have thought this was not possible with a 'clean' comedian, but they would be wrong. The majority of the country doesn't want crazy on either side of the divide, just normal. Forgive if you feel that I am exaggerating or putting you in a position that is uncomfortable. I realize that at the end of the day, your success is because you are very very funny but it also means more to me. I say thank you!
That was a great show! I continually enjoy the podcast, but that reminded me of your first days when you were stuck at home and couldn't do comedy anywhere. I think having the studio in a club is genius and it's really helping you guys harness your energy
I had Jury Duty in 2021. The defense lawyer, said "I'm not a Good Lawyer, and I don't understand the law" -- I almost volunteered to be lead council for the defense since apparently public defenders get their degrees from a Cracker Jack box.
Always great to hear an Anthony Edwards shout-out! He does say things that I have to look up. He talks about people being SAC. That means Solid As Concrete.
I’ve felt like this show hasn’t been as good the last few weeks/months (maybe it was me) and I was considering not listening anymore. but I think the new set has brought a lot of energy back to the show! Everyone seems so much more fun and happy again. I’m loving it and here to stay!!

I'm sure it's because I'm part of the uncultured "Ninja Assassin interest group", but the Olympic Opening Ceremony should just be replaced with some giant competition between all of the Olympic competitors. Imagine over 10,000 athletes all competing in a Rock, Paper, Scissors competition. It would take 13-14 rounds to get down to a single winner. Put them all on a soccer field, or something, and if you lose you move to the outside of the field. Would be pretty entertaining to see some 90 lbs. gymnast line up against 245 lbs. wrestler at some point. Donate the remaining $149,950,000 to charity or something.
Best podcast ever! Always miss Dusty! I always watch weekly but I listened with my 8 year old daughter for the first time today. She said "I see why you always watch this, it's funny; even I can understand them." Might have been a low key slap about IQ levels but always a good time! 😂 We are also Christians!! I would hope more than half your listeners are also!
@@tkelly3519 Being a Christian is something I hope many other listeners are also. They mentioned it in this episode and I agreed it would be awesome if more than half of the listeners know Jesus. That isnt a weird thing to say at all. 🤷
Aaron was right about my comment about the trees in the background annoying you guys and weeks later the location is changed. Also, for someone who’s last name has been butchered by so many people: Boles, Nate said it right the first time.
Our church has 3 meetings scheduled. One at 9am, one at 10:30, and one at 12pm. They overlap too. So some are in the chapel while others are in their classes.
My parents taught me how to tie my shoes the “regular” way. When I was about 4 or 5, one of my little friends at preschool or kindergarten taught me how to do the “bunny ears”, and I’ve tied them that way ever since, and I’m in my 50s. Peer pressure’s real.

Thanks for your shout out to West DesMoines IA Nate and our Jordan Creek Mall.
That was a great show! I continually enjoy the podcast, but that reminded me of your first days when you were stuck at home and couldn't do comedy anywhere. I think having the studio in a club is genius and it's really helping you guys harness your energy
Breakfast’s senior picture looks like a Vice Principal.
Their high school photo looks like they're in the acapella group "Here comes Treble"
Dream duo everytime with John! We need a Net Positive with Nate on there
The adjustments were great guys! Much better to the eye :)
I love this show❤
Psyched to watch Aaron's special. As a fan living in South Africa, I can't believe I'll actually get to see that sweat towel in action.
Johnny Crappuchino subbing in for our Public Figure. We're havin a moderately okay time
Didn’t know the New York Times and Wall Street Journal merged-thanks, Nate! 😂😂
Thank you😂😂😂😂 You guys make me laugh so hard😂😂😂😂
Florence Linderman sounds like the name of the jury guy convicted of murder 😂
Yay! Can’t wait for Aaron’s special to come out! 🎉
I had Jury Duty in 2021. The defense lawyer, said "I'm not a Good Lawyer, and I don't understand the law" -- I almost volunteered to be lead council for the defense since apparently public defenders get their degrees from a Cracker Jack box.
That's wild!!
Always great to hear an Anthony Edwards shout-out! He does say things that I have to look up. He talks about people being SAC. That means Solid As Concrete.
4:32 Bates with an underrated joke about known predator John Crist
😂😂😂😂
I'm just here for the setup." 😂
I’ve felt like this show hasn’t been as good the last few weeks/months (maybe it was me) and I was considering not listening anymore. but I think the new set has brought a lot of energy back to the show! Everyone seems so much more fun and happy again. I’m loving it and here to stay!!
That was a great episode!!

I'll go proofread this now.
We are also Christians!! I would hope more than half your listeners are also!
Why would you hope that? What a weird thing to say.
@@tkelly3519 Being a Christian is something I hope many other listeners are also. They mentioned it in this episode and I agreed it would be awesome if more than half of the listeners know Jesus. That isnt a weird thing to say at all. 🤷
I attend church and listen to Nate like this to do the toll if you go to church
Aaron was right about my comment about the trees in the background annoying you guys and weeks later the location is changed. Also, for someone who’s last name has been butchered by so many people: Boles, Nate said it right the first time.
Breakfast saying “at least I’m not him!” Was just as good as his stealing second base story!
"Pre - zoom" 😂
Our church has 3 meetings scheduled. One at 9am, one at 10:30, and one at 12pm. They overlap too. So some are in the chapel while others are in their classes.
My parents taught me how to tie my shoes the “regular” way. When I was about 4 or 5, one of my little friends at preschool or kindergarten taught me how to do the “bunny ears”, and I’ve tied them that way ever since, and I’m in my 50s. Peer pressure’s real.
