If you want to skip a certain point and fly directly to the next point in the cumbersome STAR, it is very difficult. Will soon enter a state of confusion. But this often happens in reality.
Thanks! You can turn on ground power via the FMC. It's in IDX --> Page 2 --> MOD SET. It requires you be in a parking spot that allows ground power units but as far as I can tell that's pretty much most of them.
This video is from an older version of the mod that was still using the default terrain overlay. I don't remember exactly which version it was that overhauled it (maybe around 0.10.0) but it is more accurate to the real plane now as of v0.12.1.
I'm trying so hard to learn this but I'm using the worst version of the game on Xbox one and I do t have the FMC mod menus for this aircraft. Also a green horn hoppin in a jet for the fifth time. Never knew there was quite this much to creating a flight plan and staying ahead of the flight!
Hi Windhover, thanks for all these tutorials of the CJ4! I hope you forgive me an unrelated question: I was trying out the plane w/wt 0.7.1 and full fuel load today and had serious performance issues. The CJ4 was not able to climb to FL430, At FL420 I had only 150 kias with 95% n1. Further, ap VS seems to be broken.... Have you seen this at all? Am I doing something wrong?
Hi! For climb it is recommended to maintain 240 kias with 95-97% N1 and then transition to 0.64 mach once the 240 kias = 0.64 mach (usually just after 30,000ft) at which point you can go full power because of the reduced N1. In real life you would just set the throttle in the Climb detent after takeoff and the FADEC would manage N1 for you but it has to be done manually in the sim (for now). Below 10,000ft those settings will put you at a 4-6,000 ft/min climb rate and above 40,000ft it will be less than 1,000 ft/min. If you get too far below the cruise climb speeds at high altitude it becomes nearly impossible for the engines to push you out of that AoA without descending first. Personally, I use FLC for climbs and then transition to VS for the mach climb portion since mach climbs are bugged at the moment. However, the devs said it would be fixed in the next update which means I'll pretty much only climb in FLC and descend in VS then.
Thanks! Another great video! I found it very informative and useful. I have one question. How do you exit "MFD ADV" so that it centres back on the aircraft instead of a waypoint? Thanks in advance!
Thanks! Plan view should never actually center on the aircraft in the first place, it's a bug that has yet to be fixed. Plan should only center on waypoints. PPOS is technically the only mode that centers on the plane.
i never realized skyvector has access to us approach charts like that! really cool to know thanks =)
amazing video keep up the amazing work and God Bless you
Congrats 🎉 you just hit from 100 to 300 subscribers 👌👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much will study this perfect
A fellow Wisconsinite! Nice vid, currently trying to learn this aircraft

Thank you very much! Very well explained! Question: How do you switch/set up ground power?

@@windhover2021 Thank you soo much!!! Couldn't find this info anywhere. Looking forward to see more of your content. Cheers
Fellow Wisconsite here..little north of ya..GRB
How did you get the terrain view in the MFD.? When checking the flight plan.

That’s the version I’m flying now.

the menu with all the departures and such doesnt appear for me when I hover over the airport name, how do I get it to do that?

AM sorry but how do I ectivate the F/P since atc can't detect my IFR F/P and so doesn't the aircraft either.
