The CJ4 instruments are natively available in AM and don't need to be downloaded. They've been in the community store for quite a long time. We don't offer fully built panels because there's too wide of a variety of screen sizes out there. Some people run their AM panels on tablets. Some use 13" screens, others 15, and yet others 23+ in screens. Others use a mix thereof. A layout built for one size likely won't work well for another. It then ends up in way too many support requests from users who want custom stuff for their own setups. For example, I run a pair of 23" screens for my main displays, and a 15.6" as a centre pedestal console, and another 15" for a side panel. Something built for me wouldn't work for the average person using a 15 or 13" screen at all. Hi Russ! Thanks for your great videos! 3 years ago, I builded a G1000 with physical buttons assigned to keyboard/joystick keys. 1 computer for the Sim and another for the G1000 lcds and software. Do you know if it's possible to assign keyboard keys or joystick buttons inside Air Manager on a second computer ? Thanks again! Cheers!
The problem you will have with MSFS is that it doesn’t support networking multiple copies of the sim. Until it does you have to run things on a single computer and there is no scenery only view available. You won’t need to use keystrokes though as the Simstrumentation guys have done the legwork and have bezels for the G1000 that can pretty easily converted to a hardware function to run your physical bezel. Let me know if you need some help with that conversion
@@rbarlow thank you for your quick reply. My concern about running more monitors on the Sim computer is that I already have 3 monitors to replicate a GA cockpit, 1 (4k) for windshield and 2 (1080p) for the windows. And I don't know if adding 2 more monitors on the same computer (Gtx Titan X equipped) for avionics will kill my Fps... How much Fps approximately are you losing by using pop out instruments (views)?
I'm having issues with the Vision Jet's GTC 580 pop out panels and a Wimaxit monitor. I can't interact with them by touch, only via mouse (the pop out windows). I have touchscreen input and click-through selected in Air Manager. For example, I touch the numbers on the comms page, but it only highlights the numbers, instead of actually pressing them. Any thoughts? Edit - Solved. I needed to download MSFS Pop Up Manager. Now it all works perfectly!
Touch is not implemented on MSFS pop out windows. Try the freeware MSFS Pop out Window Manager which has an option to allow touch inputs on pop outs flightsim.to/file/35759/msfs-pop-out-panel-manager
The panels can certainly be adapted to work with X-Plane if you have the same aircraft type available on X-Plane. You could just add the dataref subscriptions to the code and you could use the graphics. Which panel are you interested in? Sim Innovations has pay panels and is adding additional panels. Unfortunately the free panels are limited but check the Air Man discord as guys share there and it is more XP focused. If you want to try to convert one of the MSFS Simstrumentation panels I’d be happy to guide you through the process.
@@rbarlow HI Russ.Curses to you! (no - really I am incredibly grateful) I thought I was fine with the realsimgear G1000 panels I bought, but then you opened my eyes to everything that can be done with Air Manger - blended panels! Hello Russ, thanks for all your info, always helpful, I've took your advice to use Air Manager a while back and thanks for providing the flap handle print files for the Honeycomb throttle, my son has a printer and made some for me. I have a question on my fps problem. Since MSFS has multi monitor capability I added a third monitor. My system was primarily built for video and photo editing, I'm not very knowledgeable about gaming setup. I built my system consisting of an AMD 5950x cpu, 64 GB ram, Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Extreme, fast 2TB SSD 980 pro NVMe drive for the software programs, Nvidia 3090, 1 Benq SW271 monitor and 2 Benq EL2870u Monitors. When running MSFS on 1 monitor I get 60 FPS, on 2 monitors I get 1/2 the FPS (around 30 FPS, on 3 monitors I get 20 FPS.), running Spacedesk on a tablet used for a popout makes the fps completely unusable at 15 fps, this is done on the ground, clear sky's, nothing moving in the frame. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm in low or ultra setting, tried setting all monitors to 1080, pretty much get the same FPS. Is the bottleneck my monitors which are all 60 fps, it seems to be starting at 60 fps and then just dividing it up between them. I tried overclocking the monitors but they don't seem to let me. My motherboard unfortunately doesn't have onboard video to help out somewhere. Flying with 3 monitors is so much better, I would be happy with 20+ fps with spacedesk running. Do you have any ideas?
No ideas, but I can confirm that even a single popped out VFR Map on a single display will halve FPS (latest msfs beta). Some people have said that this doesn't happen if they use the iGPU as the secondary but I can't test that until my 13900K OC bundle arrives as my current mb doesn't support the iGPU.
@@ColinDyckes Thanks for replying, it appears when using 2 monitors it cuts the fps in half, when I use three monitors it cuts the fps to 1/3 so it's consistently dividing the fps between the number of monitors/popouts. I wondered if using monitors with higher frame rate cut the fps relatively in half or 1/3, for example 120 frame rate using 2 monitors cut in half (60fps) with 3 monitors cut to 1/3 (40fps). Unfortunately my motherboard does not have iGPU, it sounded like that could have helped for me.
@@marcelkr It sounds as if your 1/2 and 1/3 slowdowns are due to the increased number of pixels needing to be rendered rather than popouts (which could then halve things again 😢). Turn on Developer Mode and see if you are CPU or GPU bound without popouts. You may not have a powerful enough CPU or GPU for triple monitor.
@@ColinDyckes Thanks I will try that next time I'm on MSFS, what should the mode be in CPU or GPU bound? My system should be powerful enough since I have a Nvidia 3090 gpu and the AMD Ryzen 9 5950x cpu
@@marcelkr I had a 3090 before buying a 4090. I would say that your 3090 is the bottleneck at the moment. With a 4090 it would move to the CPU. My 5.6Ghz all core OC 13900K bundle arrives on Monday to replace my OC 10900k.
Will the simulator ever have the ability to remove the panel from the front view? I assume if it did, you would have already done it for your AirManager panels.
I’ve been following your channel, and I’ve got a 15.6 touchscreen, but I’m seeing a few problems: When I touch the screen, my joystick and yoke no longer work…I have to then click the mouse on the main display to get them to respond again. The second issue I had was the g1000s and the air manager working together…if I touch the g1000 overlay it sends the g1000 display to the back and I can’t see it. Any input or ideas would be greatly appreciated…I’m wanting to add a second touchscreen
Where do you buy suitable touch screen panels ? Can you give me a link - is there a certain size better than others - ? Does it depend on the number of suitable connections on your graphics card ?
It depends on your setup. To get a decent sized panel you may want to use a 22-24" monitor but consider how high it will sit with your yoke in place. Too high and it will block too much of your scenery monitor. You eye should be about level with the mid point vertically of your scenery monitor(s). Will your panel monitor sit on top of or behind the yoke as you look at it in the pilots position? See how high it will be. Be sure to get a capacitive touch monitor as I suggest a glass surface for durability, Log into the Simstrumentation discord and users there can suggest specific hardware they are using.
Russ, a tech question.... when I use Air Manager on my two 10" touchscreens, as I move the controls with touch, the main monitor (camera) changes views (responds) to the touch movement on the 10" screens. Any ideas would be extremely appreciated..... thank you in advance.
A few more details… MSFS or XP? The camera view moves or switches views? Do the controls work correctly on the touchscreens? A new setup or did this just happen after working for a while?
@@rbarlow MSFS.. everything else works correctly. Asyou move your finger on the touch screen, the main screen moves (like using your right mouse button to adjust view angle).
@@rbarlow Russ, I'm back. I've decided to do some more research. Intel I7-9700, 64 GB, EVGA RTX 3080, 38" LG curved, 10" touch screen. Even with MSFS running and Air Manager "not" loaded, when I touch the 10", I can see mouse trails on the 38". I found an article that indicated to make the 10" the main display. Doing that and removing the camera modes from the mouse seems to have corrected it. I'll keep playing and let you know. Hopefully in a couple of hours, I will have a permanent result. Thank you again for your help.
Do you need touchscreen lanals or could I just use a regular monitor? I guess that kind of defeats the purpose but this is nicer to look at them just the alt click solution.

Hey Russ, ron here again. Good news I finally downloaded a Cessna 172 package from the marketplace with the new G 1000 NXI. Before trying to use it with pull out panels, etc., to put on a auxiliary screen that I have. I try to take it for a spin, just to see how the airplane flies. I know sooner got to the end of the runway and both screens shut down. I shut down the program restarted it, and both screens were working and and again after about five minutes, the screens shut down am I doing something wrong or is there a flaw in the system or is there something that I should be doing.I would appreciate your help. Thanks again ron
Not sure I understand what you mean? Describe your setup and confirm this is MSFS ? I answer a lot of questions so I am not sure I remember your previous issue. Tell me what monitor blacks out? Try to explain again please
All good, however, MSFS2020 needs to sort out undocking the cockpit or flight deck interior, just showing you the outside views. This is a must for those who use hardware panels, it was done on previous versions of MSFS, so why have they not made this available?
That video was posted over two years ago. Check out a more recent video and see if there has been improvement. Hopefully it is better now. Thanks for the feedback.
Your comments about VR are very misinformed. PiMax 5k & 8K give 140 degrees FOV, Crystal is very clear and higher than 4k, motion sickness happens when your frame rate is not a fraction of your Hz i.e 90Hz = 45 or 30 fps. if you can't divide your Hz by your frame rate you have a mismatch leading to sickness, a few other points too but I forget in the moment as I'm moving house.
Thanks for your input as I try to be as accurate as possible but my knowledge is ever evolving. Your criticism was rather broad and seemed to cover topics from several of my videos so it is difficult to respond point by point. One issue I will address is your comment on causes if VR Sickness. Just google "cause of VR sickness" and you will see the majority of sources supporting my theory as a major cause. While your framerate mismatch is not specifically mentioned it could create latency which is cited as a major issue in VR sickness that I agree with. Still some people are just more prone to motion sickness even with stable framerate and low latency. Regardless of the cause, assuming you were referring to my video on VR Sickness, my main purpose was to encourage users that it is possible to overcome the issue and not to give up after only a couple tries. Good luck in your new house.
I have all space sims, CV1/G2/tobi5, and have to say VR is the pits, fumbling around like a blind man, fiddling every time you fly a sim, and sim updates are a nightmare. VR is a clunky, stagnant tech, which has become a cash-grab.

And I believe there's a FBW A320 floating around as well done by someone on the Sim Innovation forum.
Your Video heading is some what misleading. The panels are not free. I listened nearly all the way through your video with excitement until you mentioned you have to have Air manager which you have to pay money for?. The panels are not FREE!!!
That's like saying that freeware addons for the sim aren't free because you had the buy the sim. These are free add-ons for a payware software platform. Just like there are a bunch of payware addons for it as well.
@@ottopilot6536 Its like saying like it is. Your video gives the intention that these panels that are removeable and are free. For a new person using a flight simulator that sounded great.
Try the freeware MSFS Pop out Window Manager which has an option to allow touch inputs on pop outs

@srbarlow Thanks Russ, that worked!
Hi Russ. Can these panels be used in X-Plane and if not, is there a comparable resource? Thank you.
(touchscreen / ipad + arduino physical knobs). All from your RUclips videos. Now I am sucked into the vortex! I fly a Cessna 206 and started with sims to maintain proficiency. I though I was fine - then a friend got a DC-3 so I'm now expanding the sim to aid in my multi rating and to set up a DC-3 trainer. I'd love to chat if possible. please reach out with direct contact info. I don't see a way to do that in this forum - I followed you on twitter, would you please try to reach me there? Thank you.
I’ve got a desktop setup that’s similar…but now I can’t pop out any gauges/displays in MSFS which has just rendered my second display worthless
So these panels operate? You could use these to make aircraft without usable panels to operate?
Will the simulator ever have the ability to remove the panel from the front view? I assume if it did, you would have already done it for your AirManager panels.
You can do this in PlaneMaker and save it as another aircraft.
I’ve been following your channel, and I’ve got a 15.6 touchscreen, but I’m seeing a few problems:
When I touch the screen, my joystick and yoke no longer work…I have to then click the mouse on the main display to get them to respond again.
Be sure to get a capacitive touch monitor as I suggest a glass surface for durability,
Log into the Simstrumentation discord and users there can suggest specific hardware they are using.
@@rbarlow Many thanks Russ for the useful advice.
@@jmm_az go to control settings for mouse and look under cockpit camera and remove the default zoom assignment to the mouse scroll wheel
@@rbarlow away right now, I'll get back to you this afternoon... thanks
What about using iPads as extended Monitor
Do you need touchscreen lanals or could I just use a regular monitor? I guess that kind of defeats the purpose but this is nicer to look at them just the alt click solution.
You can use normal screens if you wish. You don't get the extra touch functionality which is one of the main advantages of Air Manager, but it works.
I've been looking at this for a long time, but I don't fly General aviation I'm more the Airbuses A320 Fenix & flybywire A340 & A380 (When released by flybywire), it would be nice to be able to setup a cockpit based on the Airbus
Thabk you Russ for teaching me and ahowing cool ideas, go go fly team 👌💪
Can I ask what touch screen monitors do you use? Thanks!!
The 15.6” are Wimaxit capacitive Iouch glass screens.
Hi Russ great video can you do a video talking about using a ipad as a screen and the air manger app ? thanks
Another RUclipsr already did a good one see:
ruclips.net/video/qQ4CTn9zO8g/видео.html
Here it is 2022 and we still cant turn off the virtual or the 2d panel and run just scenery with our hardware. There has got to be a hack for this!!!
Are you still using the honeycomb systems?
Yes among others but they are a solid choice for a moderate price.
Love your videos, but sure wish you could turn up the volume. So hard to hear.
Let's GO
Thanks
All good, however, MSFS2020 needs to sort out undocking the cockpit or flight deck interior, just showing you the outside views. This is a must for those who use hardware panels, it was done on previous versions of MSFS, so why have they not made this available?
Yes and I think this is in their radar but hasn’t reached their active projects list
Will these work with my Android Tablets?
No the android tablet version only includes the instruments in the app
I like realism in my flight simulations. That is true but I also like good audio in my videos. I think there needs to be some work done in your video
That video was posted over two years ago. Check out a more recent video and see if there has been improvement. Hopefully it is better now. Thanks for the feedback.
This is nice but not enough panels for heavy aircraft
They have the CRJ and the PMDG737 is in progress. Also the Fexix A320 is there.
Perfeito.
Obrigado
Looking good ! Although don’t think I’ve got enough space for more screens, unless I upgrade to a bigger house :)
Can't help with that but you could try a GoFundMe page :)
Your audio is very low. I really had to crank up my volume.
man i need this just for the FMC. sick of using the mouse to click the keys on that thing. thanks for the video!
You could put that on a iPad and use spacedesk to connect it as a monitor. It would give you a touchscreen FMC
Well, FMCs are well covered for the better airliners. We have both the CJ4 and the Fenix A320 FMCs done. And another dude has done the PMDG 737 and it's available in the AM Community Store for free.
And I believe there's a FBW A320 floating around as well done by someone on the Sim Innovation forum.
I can barely hear anything
Your Video heading is some what misleading. The panels are not free. I listened nearly all the way through your video with excitement until you mentioned you have to have Air manager which you have to pay money for?. The panels are not FREE!!!
That's like saying that freeware addons for the sim aren't free because you had the buy the sim. These are free add-ons for a payware software platform. Just like there are a bunch of payware addons for it as well.
@@ottopilot6536 Its like saying like it is. Your video gives the intention that these panels that are removeable and are free. For a new person using a flight simulator that sounded great. You didn't mention you needed Air manager until 7 minutes from the end. So its like what i am saying you have to have the sim in the first place to get anything free for that sim first you got to buy the sim. No point in having free sim stuff if you haven't got the sim??? We all know you can get free simmer stuff for just about anything thats why we have Engineers and programmers.
who can afford vr glasses
I was looking forward to seeing your video until i pressed play and you obviously have not checked your sound. WE CANT HEAR YOU??????????????????
I could hear him.. the volume control can be your friend.
I was using your (grey) Cessna 172 switch panel for MSFS in Air Manager.
I found:
* The Beacon light and *Landing Light switches do not react on the touch screen, but they do move when other linked switches are flipped.

It took a while but I found the problem.

fs2020_variable_subscribe("LIGHT LANDING ON", "Bool", new_landing_switch_pos_fsx)

Is this the free panel for the C172? I suggest you increment the version number and submit the corrected version to Sim Innovations so it will be posted in the free store
