@Fussinated I don't really like the Veyron, But I understand what kind of an achievement it is. If you try and take that Alpha 9 to 253 it would fall apart, though it would never get there. Notice I said nothing about speed or power here. There are quite a few modified cars that are quicker than the Veyron, but will not last a fraction as long or do what it does as easily and comfortably.
@jferjason not really my friend..european Gtr's have a lot of mistakes..from 200 imported to switzerland 37 got motor problems..i don't know why...now i have the V Spec...whitout a Launch Control e.t.c is way better:)
Right, the pictures and video don't do Veyron justice. In person, Veyron is beyond awesome it made other supercars look like toys. I remembered a lot of people patiently waited that car to park for exhibition. There is so much details that it is very much a work of art itself. The height is sightly taller than a Lotus Elise with big room for tall people.
@Fussinated Yes it does. Do you think that is so easy to take a car to more than 250mph? in all that luxury? the car actually costs more than double its price to its manufacturer...
@Kourosael Actually a company called Switzer Performance have tuned a GTR to 1356 HP. It hits 160 MPH in almost under 9 seconds. Oh yea.. that bugatti is 1.5 million dollers.
I thought that until i saw one close up. It was much smaller than i was expecting (almost a foot shorter than a GT-R). However the thing i remember most was the quality and finish of it particularly the interior...totally blew me away. There are few cars which make non car people stop, stare and get their camera out. Its been out a long time now (2005) but its still the most talked about car.
You're talking about Evo Magazine there, which is widely regarded as the best Car magazine in the world for driving enthusiasts. If you think they're wrong, I suggest you write to them and tell them why this wasn't a valid comparison to make....
@KENGTFOUR Memo: Nissan GTR first did in 1:19.7 on Top Gear track. Obviously the 2012 version should be better with update. Be in mind that Veyron has loaned from a private owner meaning the Stig cannot fully push it. Look at SuperSport version handling on Top Gear. On TG Magazine the Stig stated its time can be pushed further. At the end, its all about drivers.
@ellisfreedman Depends on who did the mods on the GT-R. Let the Japanese Pros do it, and it'll be safe. And you all need to know that Veyron sports W16, essentially two V8 engines slapped together + Quad turbo and costs 1.5m ~ 2.5m. Besides, true sports cars are not just about power, but handling as well. Put it on a real race track against the R35, it can't hang.
@mcmanus1806 that too but the Nismo Z-Tune only had 500hp and could take on the bugatti veyron in acceleration, 1/4 mile & mile run, they did the race and it's a rare video I only saw it once in Japanese :)
@Fussinated If I understand you correctly it would be better to take an older Evo or older vette for around 20k and modify it? You can pump 800hp out of an 4G63 for much less than the price of that Alpha 9. I've seen 1100rwhp Viper's sale for the price of that Alpha. No hyper car is practical, of course it is over price when you can't afford it.
@samurai7411 Skyline and GT-R are separated identify. The last Skyline GT-R was the R34 version. @LostShadows91 Vancouver, Canada. One coupe and Grand Sport version near Stanley Park. The car is wider, slightly taller than Lotus Elise and about the same length as Honda Civic Hatchback.
@Fussinated I know you haven't driven one but have you ever sat in a Rolls Royce? I understand where your coming from, but the curve for quality and a complete package gets very steep very quickly. The price difference between using generic leather and false wood compared to premium leather and real hickory is a pretty big jump. Spread that price through the whole car you know?
@Janusha I've got nothing to argue with you about, I love brutally powerful cars that fight you every time you hit the gas. There for the Aero, Venom, shit even the CCX and up are all the greatest production cars on the road to me. But Market wise, the Venom GT is on back order for the next couple years, don't confuse the lack of market with the lack in ability to satisfy it. Same with the SSC.
@jimakosgian26 prices in the UK for a GTR start from £69,000 Bmw M3 coupe is around £60,000 (and you see a LOT of those driving around) veyron... £1,045,000 so the GTR is way closer to a car people can actually buy than the veyron is
@Cybervestia They arent "comparing" them. they re simply showing just how quick the bugatti is. evrybody knows that the nissan gtr is a very quick car, and so they are showing just how much faster a veyron is against a stock gtr
@TheSupraTRD Yeah, I'm getting that. It doesn't change anything. It's showing how much faster it is than a fast car - it's not difficult to get. What is 'stronger' than the Veyron?
@councilrep27 Also, the lap time of 7:29.03 of the GTR can be compared to the second fastest lap, set by the Gumpert Apollo Sport of 7:11.57. This is the difference between the GTR and super cars. The GTR is a standard car, that drives like a super car...without the attached price.
@cazarevalceaturism Bugatti Veyron was heavily tested on both physical and virtual Nordschieilfe track much like Porsche. The fact is Veyron, at this time, never officially raced on that track because it was a touring session while both ZR-1 and GT-R lap time are done on closed circuit. It is like comparing a time done of qualify session with another of racing session. The mistake is to underestimate Veyron handling on circuit even thought it is not intended for track use.
@Fussinated woah woah woah no need to yell at me with your caps. The GTR is quite a bit lighter which would attest to that stopping distance. Have you done any actual research on these two cars or are you just going on numbers and your apparent love for the GTR? What makes brakes fade less?
I think the fact that the GTR had a flying start at the end makes this a lot fairer and shows how fast the Bug is (which is very) no matter what people say.
@edtri19 Veyron never officially raced on the ring. That time (7:40) was done of touring session as stated by Wheels Magazine December 2005 while majority of faster laps are done on trial time closed to the public. Veyron is more than performance, it is a technology showcase.
@65FALCONSG He means, it's a car that you could nip to the shops to, if you really wanted. Not an open-wheel racer with indicators shoved on it, it's a luxury car that is just stupidly fast and does everything so clamly. That's what makes it brilliant
That really puts the performance of the Veyron in context! You put wonderful music in the soundtrack. What is the name of the artist and the song, please? Thanks!
@LostShadows91 You missed the point of that video. First, this is a Nissan GTR, not skyline. Second, the video shows how quick is that particular fast compared to one of already fast because very few people will have the chance to see Veyron in real life (I did).
@Tippotipo unfortunately bugatti has strict regulation on how many one person can buy as it was made in very low numbers and many many billionares are already on a 2 year waiting list as we speak and people are paying up to 2 million for one. or more.
@Cybervestia thats what im trying to say. im just saying everyone knows about the gtr being quick. most people have seen one. and so they're showing the bugatti against a well known quick car.
@musicmanvin1 guess you're right i just recalled an episode (long ago) of top gear where Jeremy was reviewing a Nissan "i think" and talked about Fiat being the first car manufacture to patent a working VVT system but never put it into production and named Alfa Romeo & Nissan for first in production i guess i misremembered which company he said used it first. thanx tho
@trugemini6382 Keyword is reliability. For gas powered engine, more cylinders mean smoother combustion without worrying about piston stresses. Add the gearbox designed to handle that power/torque, aerodynamics where car/plane hybrid changes shape depending of the speed, the wing acts as airbrake with components that have to work in pico-seconds, fuel tank build by aircraft manufacturer, and more. Each Veyron are heavily tested to minimize defect as possible. We are talking about 1001+hp car.
@Fussinated Don't believe that's true, the Alpha 9 is not a factory modified car. Its modified by AMS, an aftermarket company just like Titan Motorsports or Underground Racing. The SS is built and sold by Bugatti as is with no aftermarket modifications. Indeed it would cost more stepping on the brakes in the Veyron would be more expensive. Brakes that can stop you repeatedly from 250 with zero fade would be, wouldn't you agree?
so this is what it comes down to, an everyday driver basically and a super car? thats like comparing a high school football player to a nfl player. If you have to compare it then the high schooler must be something damn well special
@12VIIVII Its not to show its faster, but to show how fast it actually is by putting it against a really quick car. Its like that race of a TT GT and a stock WRX
@punkhunk1723 So your saying that if the GTR had the attachments of a super car it could give hyper cars like the bugatti, gumpert, hennessey gt and mclaren?
The Bugattis engine is pretty much double everything on the Nissan, double the turbochargers, cylinders, displacement etc... but you must agree the acceleration from that nissan is just insane even though it lacks the raw power to compete with most other cars in a straight line, they need to put 550hp+ in it to make it a beast
@iPROFITDON "Your correct the GTR stops in 98 I believe while the two ton Veyron stops in 105, every time? Don't believe so." So, these cars don't stop each time you step on the brakes? As far as I recall I did not give any numbers. So why are trying to give an image that I am not considering fade etc. Each time GTR stops shorter and cheaper than a Veyron. What you believe is irrelevant.
@TheHerbs666 As a side note, McLaren F1 doesn't use 4 stage turbo (what the hell does that even mean?). It actually uses an N/A V12, which at the time wasn't that exotic, but now all cars are shrinking displacement and going with forced induction leaving raw and uncorrupted motors soon to be relics, making that V12 to be a legend.. And if you don't think a quad turbo'd W16 isn't exotic there's something wrong with you. Take off your tuner boy Skyline hat.
@MegaMat84 no the veyron does not start quik , there are so many cars that get infront in the first few meters , after the 200kmh the 16+-4 broughts up all the power the engine can utilize ... its not an ordinary supercar , its a car made to go 400+ with warranties ... thats why the gtr costs 1/10 cause it gives u no warranties for such speeds , in the veyron if a single button looses the feel ( not brake ! ) u call up and 3 ppl arrive in ur home and change it ... u dont just buy a car ..
what i dont get is y compare the stock gt-r vs 1000hp i mean 400hp is less than a arial atom v8 so add 600hp to the gt-r and then see who wins all you need is to make the body parts strong enough to withstand over 220mph
@chemicalBR0 you think anyone watched the video for that reason? almost all of us know that a bugatti is way faster than a gt-r. This video is not a review of both cars, its a drag race and drag races are only interesting when you race cars of equal calibre. An alpha9 would've given the bugatti a tough time is all i'm saying.
@trugemini6382 I agree many tuned street cars can outperform factory made cars mainly due industrial standard manufacturers has to abide. That is expected because tuners spent most time tweaking existing components with few constraints. gasteinerboy perfectly summarized the point about Veyron which deeply influenced other car industries. Veyron can corner, though not like a specialized track cars; it is often tested on mountain roads with lot corners. Thanks for civil post, you deserve respect.
@lolson1990 ATTESA with its super active yaw control and G-force control is revered as one of the best traction systems of all time and all those systems are only necessities because of what the veyron is but i doo agree with you about the older models. the GTR was just a little to much of a jump in style
@banddude121 - Yeah I can believe that. I think the Veyron has the Agera out of the hole, but the Agera will catch up and pass for a bit. Top speed could be a different story if you bring the super sport into the mix. Although the Veyron SS is heavier than the Agera, it helps itstay planted at faster speeds. I think the Veyron super sport may still be faster at top speed by a hair.
and just that you don't understand the purpose of a bigger engine, it is not always just for the sake of hp, you can throw in a turbo and squeeze out as much power as long the engine walls can hold that very pressure, even a decade old skyline can produce 1500whp. The more cylinders you got, the more smooth ride you'll have and no wonder veyron is more then a luxury car, where it's sole purpose had never been to be a track car.
@edtri19 Love the resort of tuned cars when the topic is about stock. So what? The trade-off to achieve that kind of performance on tuned cars are voided warranty from manufacturers, reliability issues when that special piece broke due to excessive abuse, and instability with bad setup. In addition, race fuel and drag times are commonly used for that purpose
I hope you guys realize this video really seems to be made for the purpose of putting into perspective the actual speed of a Veyron. We all know a GTR is pretty fast, and most of us can guess that a Veyron is really fast... but most of us have no idea what really fast is suppose to look like. So seeing a pretty fast car just get thrashed, shines a bit of light on what really fast really looks like.
And since when has VW been a bad manufacturer? German cars are some of the highest quality cars out there, and the safest too. Bugatti didn't have to redesign the ENTIRE chassis of the Veyron when they made the Supersports, but they did: for safety, even at just 13 mph faster. And for those who don't know, Volkswagon owns a number of large car companies: Lamborghini, Porche, Audi, Bently, Bugatti (of course) and a couple more. And I have no idea what you mean about it being ugly. It's incredible
You can compare whatever to whatever else you want, but there is a reason why there are NO video comparison of the Panda vs GTR, while we are commenting on video comparison of the GTR and the Veyron. I did not say that the GTR is better looking, faster or more luxurious than the Veyron, i simply said that the fact of comparing it to the Veyron is in itself a testimony that the GTR is an excellent car for the price. I don't think you know what the GTR is.
The thing is, bugatti can pull that kind of performance any time, so not only its faster than any production car, or any specially designed (for speed only) car, its more luxurious than anything but a rolls-royce and more beautiful than pretty much anything...its all these things put together that make this car special...in my opinion the best car in the history (and to be)
@iPROFITDON Just a note, the person who tested Veyron SS says these; "Well, it kinda feels like a giant Nissan GT-R ... How dare I say an $80,000 Japanese supercar bears any resemblance to a multi-million dollar Super Sport? Three reasons: They're both noisy (inside), heavy (feeling), and slow (shifting). The Super Sport's 7-speed dual-clutch hums and whirs with a similar dissonance found in the GT ..." I suggest that you should read the whole article.
Also, I'm not saying the GTR is at all bad, because I like it. Nissan manufactured it nicely and they are also a great company. But these videos that you see on youtube where the GTR beats the Bugatti, they are all doing something with the Bugatti to make it slower. Having the spoiler up, having the roof down (on the Gran Sport), etc. You really can find A LOT of info about the Bugatti and the GTR just by searching google. It's actually interesting what you can learn and how your opinion changes
@federaikkonerer The GTR is not quicker, thats bending the truth. This is a drag race, a test of power, a test of accelleration and which car is gonna give you the biggest punch in the back, the biggest smile on your face, and for that the GTR is miles behind.
the whole idea of this vid was to show how quick the veyron is, not to have modified cars against it, the overtake on the bend was to test accelration of the veyron, the GTR over took at 110mph and to see if the veyron could still get to the end of the 2 miles before the GTR, which it did...
The Veryon is a Quad Turbo Car that has the World record for highest top speed for a Road Car - 407 km. It has nearly double the Horsepower of a GT-R. Not exactly a fair race lol
At least you got the 'im not smart' part right. You're not really helping others when you try to correct someone who was right in the first place, much less when you add an insult to the end of your (incorrect) correction.
Hear about the Nissan GT-R that did 250 mph stock? Neither did I. The Veyron is not made to be a racecar, and its extremely heavy build and solid structure are much more to survice high impact crashes, as well as provide a solid body that holds up to the extremes of high speeds. The Bugatti was never a sports car, simply a top end freak, so to compare them is like pitting a Mustang against an F-600.
Filmed with Nokia 3310 (NO CAMERA) .
that was so funny I almost laughed .

There are quite a few modified cars that are quicker than the Veyron, but will not last a fraction as long or do what it does as easily and comfortably.
@ellisfreedman ur assuming it's unsafe at those high speeds. when cars are modified properly they are as safe as stock or safer
@jferjason not really my friend..european Gtr's have a lot of mistakes..from 200 imported to switzerland 37 got motor problems..i don't know why...now i have the V Spec...whitout a Launch Control e.t.c is way better:)
The other car looks like it's just built for straight, I'm pretty sure the gtr has better handling around a track than the bugatti
@KENGTFOUR
Memo: Nissan GTR first did in 1:19.7 on Top Gear track.
@Johnforney
Perhaps stateside, but certainly not here in Germany.
@samurai7411
Skyline and GT-R are separated identify. The last Skyline GT-R was the R34 version.
@LostShadows91
Vancouver, Canada.
@iloveparc Does't matter. Stock v stock or the race means nothing.
@jimakosgian26
prices in the UK for a GTR start from £69,000
Bmw M3 coupe is around £60,000 (and you see a LOT of those driving around)
veyron... £1,045,000
so the GTR is way closer to a car people can actually buy than the veyron is
@Cybervestia
They arent "comparing" them. they re simply showing just how quick the bugatti is. evrybody knows that the nissan gtr is a very quick car, and so they are showing just how much faster a veyron is against a stock gtr
@joelgartland Veyrons sell for about £1,400,000 sterling. They actually cost VW Group around £5,000,000 to produce each car.
@cazarevalceaturism
Bugatti Veyron was heavily tested on both physical and virtual Nordschieilfe track much like Porsche.
@edtri19
Veyron never officially raced on the ring.
@RealCPcoolstuff dont get ur point ..just gives an idea on how quick the bug is compared to a regular supercar
@darjensop i was basing the price at 90k...and the veyron at 2.7mil (where they are at now, MSRP).
Yup put a 2 million dollar car up against a 100 thousand dollar car
That really puts the performance of the Veyron in context!
You put wonderful music in the soundtrack. What is the name of the artist and the song, please? Thanks!
@LostShadows91
You missed the point of that video.
@musicmanvin1 guess you're right i just recalled an episode (long ago) of top gear where Jeremy was reviewing a Nissan "i think" and talked about Fiat being the first car manufacture to patent a working VVT system but never put it into production and named Alfa Romeo & Nissan for first in production i guess i misremembered which company he said used it first.
thanx tho
@trugemini6382
Keyword is reliability.
Don't believe so."
So, these cars don't stop each time you step on the brakes?
@MIZQUITLI or why dont the race against the GT-R AMS Alpha 10? (1200bhp+) or the R1K-X (1297bhp) :P
Yes you can make a car go faster then the Veryon but the 268 for the super sport is stock not after market
Good vid, no comparison between super car and standard car please :o
what i dont get is y compare the stock gt-r vs 1000hp i mean 400hp is less than a arial atom v8 so add 600hp to the gt-r and then see who wins all you need is to make the body parts strong enough to withstand over 220mph
And the Hennessey Venom is only road legal as it retains the Lotus VIN plate... Would NOT meet requirements in most countries.
@chemicalBR0
you think anyone watched the video for that reason? almost all of us know that a bugatti is way faster than a gt-r. This video is not a review of both cars, its a drag race and drag races are only interesting when you race cars of equal calibre. An alpha9 would've given the bugatti a tough time is all i'm saying.
@federaikkonerer Where do you get the idea that the GTR will out accellerate a veyron??
@Tippotipo I'm just wondering, (I may be wrong), but isn't that the Nissan R35 Skyline GTR?
not just the price but its magical awd and fast shifting trans and a lot more
@chrisios biggest who had? there are 900Ci big blocks
@trugemini6382
I agree many tuned street cars can outperform factory made cars mainly due industrial standard manufacturers has to abide.
@lolson1990 ATTESA with its super active yaw control and G-force control is revered as one of the best traction systems of all time and all those systems are only necessities because of what the veyron is
but i doo agree with you about the older models. the GTR was just a little to much of a jump in style
@RealCPcoolstuff actually in america you can get a Base GTR for 85,000
@banddude121 - Yeah I can believe that.
A stock veyron did 253, the ssc ultimate aero did 257, no production car has beaten the Supersport veyron but the SSC beat the standard one.
Was this filmed on a potato?
Chill, it was 2009
and just that you don't understand the purpose of a bigger engine, it is not always just for the sake of hp, you can throw in a turbo and squeeze out as much power as long the engine walls can hold that very pressure, even a decade old skyline can produce 1500whp. The more cylinders you got, the more smooth ride you'll have and no wonder veyron is more then a luxury car, where it's sole purpose had never been to be a track car.
@edtri19
Love the resort of tuned cars when the topic is about stock. So what? The trade-off to achieve that kind of performance on tuned cars are voided warranty from manufacturers, reliability issues when that special piece broke due to excessive abuse, and instability with bad setup. In addition, race fuel and drag times are commonly used for that purpose
how many veyrons were made so far? Cuz there are thousands of youtube videos with it.
The thing is, bugatti can pull that kind of performance any time, so not only its faster than any production car, or any specially designed (for speed only) car, its more luxurious than anything but a rolls-royce and more beautiful than pretty much anything...its all these things put together that make this car special...in my opinion the best car in the history (and to be)
@iPROFITDON Just a note, the person who tested Veyron SS says these;
"Well, it kinda feels like a giant Nissan GT-R ... How dare I say an $80,000 Japanese supercar bears any resemblance to a multi-million dollar Super Sport? Three reasons: They're both noisy (inside), heavy (feeling), and slow (shifting). The Super Sport's 7-speed dual-clutch hums and whirs with a similar dissonance found in the GT ..."
I suggest that you should read the whole article.
@SmallBoyzzz How about the new 2011 veyron ss? they got newer versions too
@MrCharming123 its called aerodynamics... maybe you have heard of it?
@TheHerbs666 DID YOU SAY THE MCLAREN F1 USES A 4 TURBOS????????????
@111WWEEBB I agree :) and I don't see any reason to compare this gt-r to PORSCHE :)
@1mattcamo so true, you can have a GTR for each day of the week for the price of the veyron. Or one single GTR and lifetime gas :)
@Bristo777
what do you do with 20 gtr when you can have one veyron?
