- In this video I show you how I built a very simple tent platform in the woods for my Lotus Belle tent. I also take you through the process of setting up this tent all by myself- even in the winter.

That tent stove is the same as mine. I have a tipi tent and a hammock tent, both i put in stove jacks, I will confirm, that little wood stove will warm you out. No BS, they crank some heat in a small place. I have to stoke it often, but i found solutions, Rural King sells briquets that are like particle wood. At your bed time in the tent, toss two in the stove as you stoke your fire for the night, it will get you through to morning when you wake up, warmth wise and keep it burning coals, to build your breakfast stove fire, about 7 hours heat off the bricks. I only sleep 6 a night, im sure most adulta are this way too. But that was my biggest aspect, how to get a small wood stove to keep me warm in my tipi at 5 am, wont need to wake up and stoke the fire. I learned what to do and I live in my tent like its a hotel. lol

I love this set up, and that you were able to pull the whole thing off with only the help of Moose (and I could tell, he really thought he was helping!) Brooke, you inspired me to buy a gathering tent, as well. I looked into wall tents, but then decided to start with a more portable, cheaper pop-up gazebo. I learned how to put it up in my backyard, yet can use it at the lake to keep the bugs out. Thank you for totally inspiring me!

I miss living on my secluded 5 acres. I'm hoping to find my new place in the next couple years. Thinking of moving to another state, with acreage of course. My fondest memories at my country home was coming home from work, turn off my car and walk straight into the woodshed and start chopping wood for my wood stove, even in my skirt and high heels. I didn't care, it was a great way to unwind and get physical! I love camping too and getting creative with nature to build or make what I need.
