Finally we get to see what it's like on the other side of a ghost story.

LMAO I wondered the same thing
They can eat food 😂 wear clothes sound suspicious
I think the shotgun is also a ghost to be fair so it wouldn't be that scary.
Oh no I'm being shot with ghost bullets.
How can the dead handle a physical object that the living created for themselves. That's impossible.
When the plot twist happened I was so shocked, i wish there's a part 2 where we can see the point of view of the family they 'haunted'
Above me is a bot, don't actually call them or text them because its a scam

Nicole Kidman's monologue in this movie reveals that she believed she had been granted a reprieve and a second chance, which I think is very effective and moving. It speaks to her skills as an actress that she was able to sell that moment in light of what had happened.

@@Girl_Sadns Are you joking?!?! The name of the movie is displayed at the bottom, the entire video?!?!?! You’re either brain dead, extremely ignorant, or haven’t watched the video at all.

Her acting was great in here. The whole movie had great acting.
One of the most well written horror movies.
Love the story.
What name of the movie??
The others
Yea, watched it twice
It would be a great movie if it weren't for it's reliance on a ton of cheap jump scares. That dragged it down maybe 20% in rating.
Watched it like 20 years ago kinda sad no one knows about these movies
The part about arranging deceased family members for a photograph is real. It's called death photography, and was popular in the Victorian era. Families would shell out money for a photo to remember their loved ones by, especially for the numerous babies that were lost in a time of high infant mortality rates. Nowadays we have colour photos, recordings, and videos. But back then, a single photo was all that most families could afford.
I am obsessed looking at victorian death photographs. I like to think about the lives they lived, how would've they died, what was the photography session looked like...etc. to me those photos are very sad. For some, they are the only images of those people
While death photography is real, especially then when it was expensive, there is also speculation that a lot of the “death photographs” are actually living people but because the length of time to take a photograph was so long props, braces, and closed eyes were common to get a clean photo and then they were edited on the negative. Therefore some of the photos that are of “dead” people are actually just people that had to sit still for a super long length of time and therefore look dead. (This is often the photos where someone is standing or sitting but you can see a brace holding them)
Called Momento Mori
Grace: tells the people to keep the curtains closed because both her kids are photosensitive
The curtains while she’s telling them that: completely open

If I was haunted by a ghost looking like Nicole Kidman I'd tell ghost hunters "No thanks, I'm cool with it."
I came for the replies and was NOT disappointed 🤣🤣🤣
If I found out I was a ghost I’d go travel the world. There’s not much I point in doing what you’ve always done when you can go watch everything on broadway, sneak into the White House to see what crazy shit they’re up to for fun, or board a space shuttle. Seriously, live a little.
"Seriously, live a little". LOL! 🤣
Live a little best comment on RUclips
the mist prevented them from leaving , if they left the house they would immediately be engulfed in the mist . it happened to the lady in the movie
They were bound to the house just like the servants, because it’s the place where they lived and died. How often do you hear about travelling ghosts?
My late brother appeared in my brother's dream telling him that he was travelling the world. Well I hope so. He left too soon due to liver cancer.
" Bust out the peanut butter boys, we're catching Casper tonight. " had me dead. 🤣🤣🤣
lmao I don't even know what I meant by this. Stream of consciousness, I guess
This comment appeared when I reached that part of the video
The Others and The Sixth Sense are modern classics from the late 90s - early 00s era - just serving peak Hitchock. Nicole should have won an Oscar for this or Moulin Rouge. Her acting was top-tier in both great movies... despite her personal life being a mess at the time.
Definitely nothing sus whenever servants just came into your home without info xD
That was actually a really nice plot twist. They were the one haunting not being haunted all along
It was 1945 it's not like they did background checks back then lmao
"You have two arms and two legs? great start sweeping and I'll give you an envelope full of cash every Friday."
This is one if the first "scary" movies I can remember watching and really was able to understand what was going on. So good; will always remember it.
YESSSS, i'm from Jersey and live here. The house is 5 minutes away from me and it is as creepy as can be. Thank you so much for covering this!
OMG IT'S REAL?! IDEK how to feel
Yes its true.. I live in Jersey too. Still today, people see kids around the house at night.
@KayisX It is real and loosely based off a true story.

For me this is one of the best plot twist horror story.
This one was a classic for sure.
Agreed
I always thought Charles had been in a coma, or something, and therefor was able to straddle the worlds till he recovered.
🤔 that's an interesting concept I hadn't considered it.
That could account for when he says "Sometimes I bleed." if he's coming in and out of the world of the living he might be aware of his wounds but not fully understand what was happening to him
But then how would the house have sold while he was still away if he owned it? Unless he was MIA and presumed dead maybe?
@@SjofnBM1989 That’s always what I kind of thought, like he was very injured in a foreign land and his identity wasn’t known, so life went on as if he were dead, or MIA and presumed dead.
I think he was alive but in a coma and was severely wounded in war. He sometimes bleeds as nurses dress his wounds and is able to see his family as he is nether dead nor alive. Also explains why he was always in bed and seemed like a shell. He had to leave because maybe he was waking up from the coma.
Mom took me to see this in theaters when it came out and that plot twist will forever stand as one of the best of all time thanks Mom 🤗
This is a really good storyline.
Thanks for the amazing recaps ❤
What name of the movie??
Now this makes me wonder if there is another world beside ours that belongs to the dead, but they don't realize that they have already dead and just kind of living in our houses like a reflection from the mirror. This can explain why there are houses with strange activities that called haunted house.
there isn't.
you either make it to paradise or hell and then to the 2nd death which is the lake of fire. if you are seeing something it is a familiar spirit.
@@yahushahamashiachiswarlike that’s your belief.
There are seven skies and seven worlds with different creatures
That's literally just.....the movie. You've described the plot of the movie.
@@SjofnBM1989 So i'm not allowed to summarize the movie plot again in order to open a discussion about it compares to the real world for other opinions and ideas? Since when did the comment section become so strict? lol
I remember watching this in high school and the plot twist had the whole class stunned
So she's trapped, for all eternity, in the EXACT same life & circumstances that made her so horribly depressed and desperate to escape.
How 😢 sad....
You might think of it: They're like in a "time loop", doing the things they use to do in life. If they can do something right or the woman should do something right then maybe they can move to the afterlife 🤔
Or they can move to the afterlife any time.
Not really. The children were no longer photo sensitive, so they were not the in the exact circumstances.
Imagine using a gun against a ghost
Those are made to kill humans not ghost
"After this, she committed the unthinkable." Wait- you're calling the latter suicide the "unthinkable" part? I think the fact she killed the children was more unthinkable than that!!!
I think it was so the video doesn't get demonetized or restricted
@@itsametree6365 oh yeah cause that makes sense- saying youre going to kill children is perfectly fine but saying a grown woman suffering depression committed suicide is definitely taking it too far XP

It's a terrible thing to think u are living Ur life but not knowing u are a ghost causing problem for Ur family members👀🙄
Very good movie with a good story. A very nice screenplay which is simple as well as good. It's got a good twist. It's kind of a similar to SIXTH SENSE .But more good than it. There are only 14 characters. Not too much spooky but gives chills when necessary. Surely you can enjoy.
When i watched this i was surprised by the twist and immediately remember the Sixth Sense movie. Both very good movie and great acting from the cast
Yeah i remember the sixth sense movie too! So maybe that’s why it’s didn’t hit me as hard as it did during sixth sense because at that time, I never thought of this plot twist before! The chills I got when Bruce Willis realised he is a ghost. I was as shocked as he was lol. Both are damn good movies, the actors were amazing
@@bellagrey7739I think "the others" has more details. It's not a about the plot twist is how u get there. It's about a philosophy, about war, about religion etc. etc etc I considered 10x better than the sixth sense (for example it was more scary and shocking to me when the boy talk with his mother, Toni Colette❤ Than when Bruce Willis understood that he was dead because I already knew the reason but in the others both things, she and her children being the ghosts BUT also she being the murderer of her own children and herself leave me in awe for s time, was more shocking and sad for me. After a second third even fourth time viewing the movie.
u see a lot of clues
If you like stories of the living and dead living together but don't like scary things, you might like the BBC show Ghosts :) it's a British comedy about a couple that inherit a mansion, but it is already inhabited by Ghosts from varying time periods. The wife begins to see them, and hijinks ensue. It's really funny:)
Aww ty! I'll surely watch it
I've been watching the American version. It's pretty great! No idea where I could be able to watch the British version, though.
This is one of my favorite movies. I had it on VHS even lol. This movie was done so well I still think of it when my child gets on my nerves. Since I first saw this, even though I was a teenager at the time and wasn't a mom yet, I still get nightmares sometimes that I'll go crazy like Grace did :(
This is a great film. I don't watch movies more than once often, but this one I've gone back to many times.
Mother: "in hindsight, I should've guessed something was wrong with me when I could walk through walls more often than usual...."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
She can't walk through walls. The ghosts assume the context of the place they died; if they couldn't pass through walls in life, they can't as ghosts, either. They have to eat regularly, too, or they feel hungry, etc. The sole exception might be if they are fatally injured or commit suicide in the afterlife; they probably come back from that (to a context "reset" to the point immediately prior to the event).
@@roberthaworth8991 1- it's called a joke XD 2- i guarantee ghosts don't eat withholding media like Bleach shinigami and such. If a ghost "died" by not eating, it'd be beyond bizarre to meet the ghost of the ghost of the ghost of the ghost of the ghost of the ghost who starved to death...
Very good movie, and good twist plot. From beginning to end 👌
There was one episode from "Supernatural" where a lady thought she was being haunted but she was dead for years. That was one of my favourite episodes from Supernatural. Must watch even if you haven't watched the series.
But now that you know the plot twist, it might not be that good for you when its revealed. But I can't tell you to watch it without telling you the plot...uggggghhhh. I hate loops.
I love Supernatural! And i faintly remember the episode - but which one was it exactly? 😅
I absolutely love this movie. The ending still gives me chills. Great job recapping!
that scene where she sees her daughter as an old woman scared the fuck out of me as a kid
This recap makes it a lot less creepy downright horrifying. I watched it at night and it was one of the most terrifying ghost stories I’ve ever watched.
I accidentally watched it by myself on Halloween not knowing it was a ghost story! It was very scary! This was back when I rented DVD’s from the local library.

I remember watching this in the cinema in 2001 and was not expecting that twist. Still one of my favourite films to this day.👏👏👏
Watched this movie with my mom when I was about 11 or 12 and the ending messed me up sooo bad! Children: “Were NOT dead!!” 😅

This is one of the best, if not the best, movie of this genre. Thanks for the recap, made me remember the surprise I felt when I found out that they were the ghosts, very good and cleverly done movie...
This literally took the saying “Oh! So, I’m the problem?” to another level 😅
Go in time out! Lol 😂😂😂
I enjoyed this movie when it came out. They hid the ending twist well when the trailer was out.
The film was actually a Spanish production, being shot entirely in Spain with a Spanish crew (including writer/director), despite being entirely in English.
Yeah, remember the movie. You can say it was very "haunting" for me. If there would be an afterlife, I guess this is what makes the most sense to me and it's terrifying.
This was one of the first movies that actually blew my mind with the twist
This is such a good horror and emotional movie!
How to ruin the twist of the film too early?

Thanks for the recap! 💯
I've watched this movie a good 5 or 6 times throughout my life and every single time, that scene with the little girl playing on the floor, who turned into an old lady...smh that scene will forever and always scare me shitless
Honestly, what I find the most terrifying about this film is the idea of dying and then 'living' the same life day after day, year after year, millennium after millennium, never being able to leave. Especially bad if you happen to be a servant! Cooking and cleaning all day for eternity. Yikes!
Honestly, I wouldn't mind. Now that I think about it, I don't think it's that bad. I mean no rent, no bills, no threat of being driven out into the streets, and for some unknown reason there's always food plus the fact that I will never age nor gain weight, my nice clothes fitting me perfectly for eternity. Then I get to mindf**k the living people if I feel like it, just for laughs. So yeah, I'd be happy.
