This seemed like a very intense movie. Yet through every scene, I couldn't stop thinking about the fly the guy ate. The recap didn't show if he drank something to wash it down, get rid of the taste...

As an Aussie - yes, our parties are lit.
My dad was once at one where they had a Jelly pool that people were wrestling in, a mini golf course, a dj and a bar at this guy’s house.
By the end of the party, somebody shat in the jelly pool, there was a person who was smearing crap all over the walls of the bathroom, the guy’s teenage daughter sneaking drinks up into her room and much more.
(Honestly I can’t remember all of the details because he told me this a few years ago)

I'm struggling to find any metaphorical meanings behind any scene, this could all be really taking place behind all the weird murder cases, unsolved disappearances, crooked politicians that we trust.
Seems like a lot of work went into making this plot.
I don't know if it's even metaphorical, it could be just displaying the human condition, and what people, even very kind people, what lengths they might go, out of desperation for security.
Could be how easy it is to control a person through their greed
Not all movies or stories have to be metaphorical or even have a real deep meaning behind them, you know about cow tools? To make a deep storie you only need hints or the start of something that looks that it could be deep, we the viewers fill in the blanks and make it deeper than it really is.
Everyone in my family thinks it’s weird that I watch these but won’t watch actual movies, yet I always know the movies they’re talking about and can explain the plots

1 and 3: haven’t took a deep dive in the film enough to find every secret in the van or what the conspiracy guy said and had in his brief case so as far as I know, it’s not known. Reason why is guessed to be “they must’ve been people so politically and economically powerful that they became bored and want to see a bunch of poorer people die and tortured (physically and mentally) for the sake of their entertainment and an actual reason to spend their money somehow”. Which is the most uninspired, barebones, played out motivation for a villain in these death game movies. Just let this trope fucking die if nobody can use it in a way thats cool and unique anymore, suck it up and send more time in the writing process to come up with an ACTUAL motivation for the villain 🙄
2: The initiator mentions some people making comments on Elliot’s performance of the game right after the motorcycle scene, so I guess it was being broadcasted somewhere

The premise of the film is somehow irrational. If you need to complete all 13 sins to actually get any money, there's little to gain in playing the game. You can always bump into a totally unacceptable 13th sin, and see all your efforts going down the sink. In fact, I presume the characters end up doing things that aren't worth that amount of money - nor any other amount. for that matter.
Thats the point though, when you get to your last unacceptable but youve come so far and you dont want to lose your money youll just do it

You can’t really make rational decisions if your too greedy or desperate to get a lot of money. Tho at least the movie shows one character that takes an actual rational decision to not play the game, being a good person and not really desperate for money and all.

Although this film is a remake of the Thai version, the story in this film is quite exciting because it is similar to a squid game, but I prefer the Thai version because it is more sadistic and disgusting

I mean the wife killing father is gone + the very special brother he cared for which also wanted to kill him is gone. They are both no loss.
Well he did care for his family despite their flaws and if his luck has ran out he'll be imprisoned by murder or ar the very least spend a couple of months for the disturbance he caused previously.
Id say he didn't get it too bad. His brother was the one that murdered the biker gang, and he killed his brother out of self defence so I highly doubt he'd feel any guilty conscious
I always fall asleep during movies but since these are done in about 15-20 minutes I get the satisfaction that I don’t get from the same 2 hour movie
