I love how everyone agrees that the Snake People is the chillest of the human species.
I'd agree that they, at least, on the surface, seem rather chill. However the only main example we are given of the snake people is just the one fella chillin, while reading a book and smoking... these are things we associate with rather chill people in the modern day.
However, this is a mere singular example of an individual whose species has had an absolute ton of time to grow culturally, socially, and economically... all independently of humanities' influence.
It's kinda funny when you realize that in the timeline where these people exist, they have full lives, each with their own struggles, beliefs, and morals. It really gives a feeling of, well... It's hard to describe, though this video by trey the explainer explains it rather well;
ruclips.net/video/H_nT6EFUZmI/видео.html
There wasn't much to go on with the others, we get a closer look at what the snersons lives (or rather this individual's life) than we get about most of the rest.
I wonder what an assymetric's life is like, or a gravital, or one of the others. We only see a tiny fraction of their world and culture with each, some not at all
They Just want to be confy. I like them
@@skeepodoop5197 they are deffinatlly more chill than some other ones, you can immediatlly eliminate pterosapiens (I probably spelled that wrong) because they have such a short life, and satyriacs because their entire culture is based on pleasure seeking, they're probably more chill than the killer folk and the sail people, because both are said to have violence and war ingarained in them, so much so that the sail people go on hunts just for the sake of violence
So they may not be chill as a species, but they're chill relative to a lot of other ones
I mean, they're given the most chill and flattering image besides the Sateryaks (chilling at a concert), the Killer Folk (just a guy with a cool hat) and I guess the flying ones that don't live that long (a bird chick taking a selfie at a beach resort). The Snake People's main description is ''chill as fuck, listens to music and vapes all day, bruh''. I love the book and there's a lot that it lets you explore and make up on your own.

i like how all it took from the story itself was basically "they listen to music and read n shit" and the internet just adopted them as a whole vibe
This, this is what All Tomorrows is all about, at least from The Author's perspective. Not necessarily the civilizations and empires of long-gone species of humans, but the individual lives and experiences of each member of these species. In other words, All Tommorows is about how the snake people vibe harder than anyone else.
I'm not really sure I agree on that. In the book, the descriptions of each species are very brief, and we never get the perspective of individual members. Man After Man is actually closer to that, since it has several characters of different species and descriptions on how they live their lives. Sorry if I'm coming off as contrarian, I'm just rambling. XD
and then theres the funny looking man that shits aggressively
@@lukevankleef4245 I think All Tomorrows is more told through the pictures. In Man After Man, the environments and portraits of each type of human is more.. scientific? Even if it's a more sentient species. In All Tomorrows, we see what some are like just going on vacation, or sitting out and watching their farm. That's my perspective on it.
@@lukevankleef4245
It is said in the end though
Everything that happened, the empires, the wars, the genocide, the suffering and the pain that the Qu had done was not that important, of course it shaped their lifes. Even if it took billions of years, in reality, humanity was ephemeral.
The dominance of the universe was not really the end goal, but how they managed to keep the most basic value that everyone shared: "humanity". As said in the book """ Like the radio conversations of the gravitals, the daily lives of the bugfacers, the rampant and carefree fun of the hedonists, the rebellious demostrations of the martians against the humans, and even your very own life in a way.".
"It is not the destination, but the trip that matters. What you do today influences tomorrow, not the other way around. Love today and *_seize All Tomorrows!_* "
@@lukevankleef4245 In the end of the book the author talks about how the humanity's legacy doesn't matter, as no one will ever live to see the end of it from our perspective. The end goal was not what mattered, with today and tomorrow being the most important of all, all tomorrows in fact.
The design for this version of the snake human is actually somewhat adorable.
its rare but yeah actually yeah
Jesus Christ this comment blew up in a day. What the fuck RUclips?
Out of most of the book's illustrations, the snake people have perhaps the most chilled out design in general. A bit odd yes but not deeply unsettling or horrifying like others are.
But like as much as we meme on the Satyriacs, their illustration is really pushing but I guarantee a more realistic rendering of them would be pure nightmare fuel. I don't know if the snake people would have as much of a problem though.
I always thought snake people were adorable. They are honestly my favorite of the new human species.
@@therev.dr.deweybrownjr1931 Same! They look kinda cute tbh
I like to imagine that this is in an AU where the Gravitals were actually a lot weaker than they were and greatly underestimated the other Posthumans. They were then defeated and were turned into harmless, if annoying at times, plush toys.
Lol
Gravitals: NOOOOOOOO DONT TURN ME INTO A PLU-
*turns into a plushie*
Snek people: AHahahahahhaaa
Maybe in this timeline the Gravitals didn't wage any wars and instead gave dyson swarm technology to the other post human races.
Doesn't have to be an AU. They have millions of years to vibe before Gravitals attacked.
@@eel7818 then how do you account for the gravital plushie...
Snake vibrations to study/chill to
HI I TAKE MEGA INSPIRATION FROM YOUR ART!!
I have the headcanon, that during their existence, the alliance and before the extincion, the Snake People created something similar to a "Alexandria's library" that later was found by the author and its friends. This library have a million of books and Snake music. Like "Snake Jazz"
Oh god now i'm picturing a snake voiced by Jerry Seinfeld saying "ya like jazz?"
Fof my this Is canon 🤟
This is my headcanon now.
You could call it... the Serpent Hand's library.
a great theory! I love it! :D
Exactly how I picture the snake people, just vibin in their lil homes smokin a fat one and readin a good book.
The one and only thing I picture differently is that their music per-say is probably much more based on percussion and bass, relying more on rhythm then melody.
They could probably operate some small wind instruments with their lne hand.
@@insignificantduck313 Very true, however, it does say that they listen to vibrational ground music in the book, which I'm assuming means that they'd have an easier time hearing sounds with stronger vibrations rather then pitches, unlike modern humans.
@@skeepodoop5197 that means they probably enjoy bass or percussion rather than sax or guitars. Either way it would be cool to see them operate their musical instruments. Wonder if two of them have to be used for one instrument or they created machines to help them.
@@snek9008 Actually, the fact that they only have 1 effective hand for drumming isn't really that bad, as the drummer for Def leopard actually played despite only having one effective hand for drumming (he lost his one arm in a car crash).
Meaning that highly complex maneuvers were nowhere as impossible as you might think.
@@skeepodoop5197 Rick Allen has feet tho, snake people only have one hand and that's it, it could work with bongos or something like that, but a whole drumset, I doubt it, nonetheless, their technology is completely different, so their instruments obviously fit their anatomy without complications
When I watch this video, I don’t see an alien creature. All I see is humanity.
I think that was the author's point. Despite all the horrid monstrosities humanity have become they are no less human than you or me.
I would definitely chill with most of the post human races
