Something I love about Kosemen’s designs is that you can still see traces of humanity even in the modified forms. Temptors, despite looking like living decorations, have eyes eerily similar to our own. Same goes for the swimmers and the tool-breeders. Lopsiders have an odd, asymmetrical body plan, but their hands are unquestionably human. And most of them still have very human-like ears and appendages. Really nails in the fact that these are all still homo sapiens, in some odd way. Very, very cool.
it's both beautiful and sad. you can see how humanity fought to save and sustain itself, but it could only fight so much. yet there are still traces of human perseverance in those alien bodies. in a way, it is cool. eerily cool.
@@Int37 the flesh things are called colonials, another abomination made by the qu, essentially they are qu waste dumps with organs and taste buds, these group of star people resisted the qu multiple times, which made the qu angry turning them into the colonials
If there ever would come a day where an All Tomorrows movie/series gets made, I hope it's like this. I feel like it really captures the whole atmosphere with this style.
I think they'd need to read the book to understand the horror of this artwork. This is one book that really gives me pause about making this planet any more visible than we already have

I wonder if they grew more, and if the new generation of them had the same level of intelligence. Also, did they eat eachothers when the Qu left because they ate the Qu’s waste.
This could easily be the intro for an all tomorrows animated series. It would be cool if a lot of different animators could get on and construct stories in different styles based on what species each episode was centered around.
The clip with a ruin haunter is the most depressing one in my opinion, the way he drops his tool and covers his head shows how terrified and angry he is due to Qu ruining star people's world, it just hurts so much :(
I like how they are aren’t all depicted with completely human-looking skin draped over their body-plan (especially with the temptors), shows more of an evolutionary divergence from their ancestors that was hard to see in Kosemen’s original black and white illustrations.
To the confused and/or curious, this animation is based on the book titled All Tomorrows. Each creature shown were once humans. If the lore has piqued your interest, I suggest looking it up.
I've always thought that the book would wonderfully translate into an ultra-photorealistic documentary series, and these animations make me want it more.
So many people have tried their hand at animating C.M. Kösemen's work, and I respect their efforts. But if we were to have an animated and narrated version of the book, I imagine it'd work best in this style.
I really wanna see All Tomorrows made in the style of a Planet Earth documentary like that one they did about dinosaurs. And then it can be like those history channel documentaries when it gets to the evolved peoples

А через миллионы лет всех этих постлюдей больше не будет, все вымрут. И примтивно глупые, и высоко развитые - все. До меня только сейчас дошло, насколько это срашно. Насколько страшно осозновать, что представителей твоего вида превращают в кучу разного рода зверья, а через миллионы лет они все вымрут, не оставляя шанса на дальнейшее маломальское существования хотя-бы одного вида постлюдей... Soo good. Gives me vibes of Wess Anderson, and the way the animation moves reminds me of a great animated French film called "Fantastic Planet" by René Laloux. Great work all around. Makes me want to see a walking with dinosaurs style docufilm about all tomorrow's.

The antelope scares me to death its like a weird deja vu, a dremed that i had with basically the same concept of humans being captured and turned into that to later be slaughter. At first of course i didn't have no context and it was just a bad nightmare but now with the context it scares me a lot to just imagine that
Seeing it like this really brings out the horror of the situations. I feel the drawings we have all become accustom too felt almost like charts or diagrams of how discoverers of old would draw an flora or fauna they have never seen before, they sent sterile. But the moment you give them color and breathe life into these drawing, the real tragedy of the situation sinks in.
