    I'm so glad Raeen got to see this! I'm not surprised Babu doesn't remember he already watched it. I couldn't help but laugh when he was arguing that Mr.Jingles couldn't be brought back to life, partly because he already saw it and party because he's always so sure he's right. Too bad Ruby couldn't watch with Raeen. They are a perfect pair for a movie with this kind of depth.

      @@dullaf4099 I don't think they're all acting. Raeen and Ruby, especially Ruby, get very engrossed in the movies they watch. They hardly talk at all because they get so busy taking it in. I've had people comment in the past that Babu is doing what he should as a reactor by talking so much. To me if you're reacting you have to actually be watching. Babu just rambles no matter what he's watching. Sarru watches and seems to be really trying to grasp sometimes but I think some things go over his head either due to interpretation or not getting references because of his age.

    This film is based on a book by the same author as The Shawshank Redemption, Stephen King.

    I hadn't been able to watch the original reaction with Babu and Badshah before it was taken down for copyright, but I'm so glad Raeen got to see it this time. It's funny Babu didn't seem to remember watching it already, but honestly they've watched so many movies in the last year, and this was one of the earliest reactions they shot, it doesn't bother me any.
    The movie is so emotional, I haven't watched it in probably 20 years, but even during this reaction it reminded me of pieces of the story I had forgotten about and I still got teary eyed in a few scenes. I was kind of worried they might not have caught some of the important details, but Raeen was following the story very closely and picked up on everything. The mix of supernatural elements in this movie makes it really unique. I was happy they both picked up on how he was able to absorb the illnesses and release it through the flies. And I had totally forgotten about the reveal at the end that both Tom Hanks' character and the mouse lived so long after due to the influence of that healing power.

    1. YOU WILL CRY😭😭😭😭
    2. Dabbs Greer/old Paul was ill during production, so his part was done later. He also played Reverend Alden on "Little House on the Prairie".
    3. Hammersmith was not a good lawyer. (most likely a racial thing. It was 1935 South.)
    4. In the book King briefly covers why the Chief and Del are on death row.
    5. This movie was nominated for Best Supporting Actor (MCD) and Best Cast but unfortunately neither won.☹☹
    6. Players in other King adaptations: Jeffery DeMunn: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist,
    Storm of the Century and William Sadler: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist. David Morse: The Langoliers. Patricia Clarkson played Margarat White in King's remake of Carrie". Needless to say, it was a much different part.
    7. Movie magic Electricity makes the body contract. Del wouldn't be able to scream. I know it' just for the movie because of the length of the execution scene.
    8. IRL James Cromwell is a vegan and didn't want to grill meat for the BBQ scene but
    was told that in 1935 people actually ate meat so he agreed to have some on the grill.
    9. RE Percy: Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. KARMA's a Bitch. BTW Kudos to Doug Hutchison for the great job of playing Percy. EVERYONE hates him.🤬
    10. John also rescues the other patients at Briar Ridge.
    11. IRL both David Morse and James Cromwell are about the same height as Michael Clark Duncan. They used planks, a small bed and smaller chair along with trick photography/angles to make John look taller.
    12 The scene where John takes Mr. Jingles for safe keeping before Del's execution, they used a real mouse, and it pooped on Paul's shoulder, and he brushed it off.
    13. Now we know what the "day old is fine" dry toast is for.
    14 EVERYBODY cries and has to take time to reflect. Congratulations you just experienced.
    the GREATEST MOVIE EVER. (GOAT)🤩

    I love that Melinda gave him that medallion after John healed her. - St. Christopher is a patron saint... he offered protection to travelers and against sudden death, many churches placed images or statues of him, usually opposite the south door, so he could be easily seen. He is usually depicted as a giant, with a child on his shoulder and a sheperd's staff in one hand.

      Paul was 44 the year John Coffey (age unknown) walked the Green Mile (1935) which means he was born in 1891. So, in '99 Paul was 108 and Mr Jingles was 64 years old. A pet mouse in captivity has an average life expectancy of about 4-5 years... makes you wonder how long Paul will live, eh?! Several hundred years probably. And his penance is to lose everyone he loves, to outlive them all. John, on the other hand - I think he was thousands of years old... he was a very powerful empath who absorbed the pain of others his whole life, stated he was so tired and he welcomed the sweet release of death for that very reason.

    • @LittleBlueOwl318
      @LittleBlueOwl318 11 дней назад

      Yes. He's an "Empath ", a Seer and a Healer. John absorbed EVERYTHING around him emotionally... that's why he felt the little girls' pain and Del's pain. When he was walking to the chair he said to Paul the people there hated him and he could feel it. Paul told him to focus on what the 4 guards were feeling instead. He helped Paul "see" what Wild Bill had done through touch and prove his innocence. He healed Paul's infection, healed Mr Jingles and healed the warden's wife. He tried to heal the little girls when he found them, but it was "too late" and he "couldn't help it" and that's how they found him sobbing holding the girls. John Coffey was a Miracle.
      Also, John Coffey has the same initials as Jesus Christ, who was also an empath, a seer, a teacher and a healer... whose story is told to us by a man named Paul. JC dies for someone else's sin and while doing so gave his loved ones the the gift of LIFE, 🙏

  • @dionysiacosmos
    @dionysiacosmos 14 дней назад +1

    I agree with Babu. Just because the story can't happen in real life it's still such an important story, like the heart and souls of characters in other stories that everyone wants to see them. It makes us better people and reminds us what's really valuable is learning to think and feel in our in our own lives.
    John Coffey is always obeyed. He's just so soft spoken and patient it's easy to miss. He could have changed the outcome if he had wanted. But he was just too tired to go on living. There's no telling how old John was at that point. He had scars that looked as though he'd been beaten with a whip when he was a child. But when was that? In the US slavery was abolished in the 1860s. Was he born before that? He says he doesn't know much of anything, so he doesn't know. Just his touch made Paul and Mr Jingles live very long lives.

    Very good movie but hard to watch. It can make you very sad and quite angry.

    Babu has trouble witnessing cruel and merciless prison systems, real or fictional. Surely the Green Mile was the perfect movie to lift his spirits.

    I've noticed this before, but is it a mistranslation, or do they not make a distinction between mice and rats? Or mosquitos and flies, for that matter?

    Great movie, I'll watch this one before any Marvel spectacle.

    i love this channel as a long time viewer, but the audio has dropped recently. i understand cutting audio for copyright, but the microphones have gotten worse and its much harder to follow.
