    What grows hair?
    ✅Commitment
    ✅Consistency
    ✅Care (being extremely gentle)
    ✅Cleansing (solid scalp and hair cleansing regimen)
    ✅Crops (crops (vegetables), overall diet, ample water
    Hair is constantly growing, but must be maintained to thrive. (Cleansing, grooming)
    I have used these ingredients to help me achieve waist length hair. In addition, you must keep your hair in protective styles (twists, braids) for long periods of time. (3 - 4 weeks at a time etc) practice gratefulness, positive mindset, excellent diet, proper sleep, consistency, exercise, gentle detangling, no heat at all (my experience), daily oiling of hair ends , deep scalp massage, diy natural mild shampoos and deeply moisturizing diy conditioners, practice mindfulness and lower stress. The results are my own. All results vary. Hair does not grow long overnight. Average hair growth is 6 inches a year. I started my natural hair journey 10 years ago but had many setbacks as it took many years of research and trial and error to find methods/products that worked for me. Of the 10 years, it took me roughly 4 years to achieve waist length hair.
    More insight: I’m a non-smoker and do not drink alcoholic beverages, nor do I take any medications.

    I truly did learn and got some important reminders! As a tightly coiled natural, my hair gets dry. I didn't consider spraying my plaits with water and resealing the moisture with oil or butter DAILY! That's the part - DAILY! I'm going to do this everyday until my 7-day Wash day! Thank you! Your hair is beautiful! I keep my hair the same way you do - length retention over style and manipulation! Our hair is sooo beautifully textured, so we don't need all of those styles like we did when relaxed or like straight-haired people do. When we want style and volume - just undo our plaits or twists! - and let Our Creator's Handiwork be Glorified!

    Thanks for that tip on caring for the ends of your hair. I have to start being more mindful of that. I don't think I've ever seen anyone unravel their ends to moisturize. I usually see others spritz and moisturize the ends without unraveling it. And if they do unravel, it's when they're about to take down their hair to re-moisturize it. Your method looks very effective! 👍
    I appreciate naturals who take the time to demonstrate the methods they use on their hair instead of just verbally explaining. It really helps others to learn in my opinion. And it's great that you're emphasizing the importance of taking your time with your hair in order to care for the hair properly. I can see you're very patient and take your time with your hair (especially to do 15 braids! Wow! 😯). Keep up the good work Tia! Your videos are definitely helpful reminders to be kind to the hair and be consistent.
    Be blessed in Jesus' name and take care! 😊

    Hey, lovely hair. How long did it take you to grow your hair waist length?

    • @tialynn1111
      @tialynn1111  10 месяцев назад +11

      Hi Sonya!,
      With trial and error it took about 5 years. But I’ve been natural for 10+ years. However, the first 5 years, I had to relearn and learn my hair, what it needs and the best styles/regimens for it.
      I usually use Ayurvedic herbs, (Amla, Moringa, Hibiscus) and I’m big on onion/garlic oils and avocado, castor, Olive oils and Shea butter/aloe. Also into essential oils such as rosemary, vetiver and ylang ylang.
      I also keep my hair in protective styles either on a weekly basis or, currently, it’s been in a protective style for about 1 month. I wash it weekly in this protective style.
      I’ll post more vids soon on some of my top recipes. Thanks for watching 💕

    Hello, I think i take good care of my hair and get a trim every 4 months. But it seems like every time I go in for a trim, I have 1 inch cut off. Is this normal? My hair would grow back then I have to cut it off. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • @tialynn1111
      @tialynn1111  10 месяцев назад

      Hi thanks for watching,
      If your hair grows 1/2 inch per month and you trim every 4 months that means out of the 2 inches that you grow, 1inch of that is being removed so you’ll only see 3 inches retained for the year.
      Essentially half of your growth is being removed every year.
      I think 1 full inch every 4months seems a bit excessive unless you have major split ends. (Which I know you don’t have if you say you take good care of your hair). You are taking good care of your hair, and I feel 1 inch taken off, personally, seems very counter productive.
      Maybe try trimming less often, or having less hair removed every time you visit the salon…
      Decide with whatever feels right to you. Thank you 💕

    • @tialynn1111
      @tialynn1111  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hello Grace, Can you try this out?
      Place your hair in a protective style, literally do not manipulate it/touch it for at least one week. (Keep it in a moisturized, detangled, low tension low bun or regular bun. Put your hair in detangled, moisturized twists and leave it alone for one week)
      You can spray w/ water and oil the surface but leave it alone for a bit and see the difference.
      Even if you treat it gently, you may be manipulating it too much. How often do you actually touch your hair in a week?
      Also always keep it hydrated and well oiled

    • @gracewhite7827
      @gracewhite7827 10 месяцев назад

      You maybe right for I find myself twisting my ends throughout the day, dailly, I oil my scalp and I oil it 3 to 4 times a week. Wash and deep condition weekly or every 2 weeks depending if I have mini braids or mini twists. When I wash my hair this weekend I will put it in average size braids and try to leave it alone for at least a week. Thank you. @@tialynn1111

      You’re welcome💕
      I have not done much research on MSM.
      I’ve used herbal Ayurvedic and rosemary teas and they have helped my hair tremendously both with scalp health and hair growth!
      Please make sure that you or your daughter are not allergic to any of the herbs.

    Doesn’t aloe Vera close the cuticles.. ?according to naturally Nica aloe juice should be the last step

    • @tialynn1111
      @tialynn1111  10 месяцев назад

      That is true, but it also doesn’t hurt to apply oils after aloe juice is applied. (For further protection and to drastically reduce hair breakage)
      Personally, I’ve found this to be the best method for retaining hair length. Perhaps you can try both ways and see which method works best for you.

    I was spraying my hair and moisturizing often and my hair was doing good but the all that dampening and wetness started making me have the sniffles and catch a cold. • @tialynn1111
      @tialynn1111  10 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Shay I’m sorry to hear that about you and baby girl. Just a little hydration is good, don’t spray to where your hair is very wet. Just a light spray and then oils on top is enough.
      If you can’t spray the hair, then just use a hydrating Shea butter and aloe cream. (A leave in moisturizer that has both a water phase and oil phase within it)
      So the solution would be to use a creamy hydrating leave in moisturizer.
      I did create one in my video:
