Daggerfall NPCs are a unique breed too. Cardboard cutouts, but they get mad at you if you're *too* polite. The nerve.
To be fair I get the impression that being polite with low personality and/or etiquette skill comes of as you being a pretentious asshole that speaks like a pompous prick on purpose to common people rather than genuinely just being polite.
Makes sense because the people that dislike that are commoners and criminals. Imagine walking up to a bunch of gang members or some steel plant workers and sounding like a British fop, they'd be pissed.

They're senile and don't remember what they were doing 20 seconds before. Plus they're ugly and should not be in positions of power.

Not really fitting, Oblivion NPCs have actual schedules, Morrowind ones only stand or work aimlessly without mods to give them schedules and extra animations.
Skyrim NPC should have blocked the way and started telling his life story at the player... Or refer to their husband for the actual questline.
I unironically hate NPC schedules. Nothing is worse than searching a whole castle for a trainer..
