a must in all TES games...
is really hard to say in what TES game alchemy is the most powerful: Morrowind you have a lot of replenishing merchants, so, you can craft stacks and stacks of potions easily, vendorable even if you have just an apprentice mortar and pestle, in Skyrim you can use enchant loop, and get ridiculously powerful potions early.
Oblivion, not so sure... i played Oblivion a lot, but following the main quest you get a lot of good stuff, so, alchemy is not so useful, if you have enough coins for a nice provision of potions...

Dont rely on chance when you have a guarantee.
Side note enchanting is great. You can summon a dremora, deal with it without pissing it off, and loot daedric weapons and shields off it. Or summon Golden Saints a few times before running out of charges.

After the initial time I spent with Morrowind when it was new I've gone back and attempted to play it about a dozen different times over the years, and in each instance I've found myself going, "You know what? I'm good" and quitting before I've managed to do much. True both with the vanilla game and with mods. The farthest I tend to get is the Dwemer puzzle box quest and then I just get hit with a stiff punch of disinterest and nope out of the game. On every attempt I think, "THIS time it will be fun, if I just do X" but it never is. I know the trope is that old gamers only like and enjoy old games, but to be honest there aren't too many games from my youth and childhood that I can still go back and play. About the oldest game I still play somewhat regularly is Medieval II: Total War.

Well not a solution for all of Morrowinds problems but:
Custom Spell - Restore Fatigue 19-20 for one second (cast as you travel and you can level Restoration to boot)
Custom Spell (or enchanted Cast when used item) - Summon Bound Weapon 19 seconds (not many fights last longer than that and fully repaired magic weapon each cast)
Custom Spell (or enchanted Cast when used item) - Water walking for 11 or 12 seconds (on the enchanted item the one point is costs will regenerate before the spell wears off)
Custom Spell (or enchanted Cast when used item) - Levitate 1-1 for 11 or 12 seconds (cast just before you land and negates fall damage.
Ring of Aversion - Invis for 10 seconds (sold by the trader in Caldera it lasts long enough to run outside the agro range of cliffracers)

first time ever... i don't exactly remember what i choose, but i remember being a punching ball for everyhing outside Seyda Neen!
the second one was a Dunmer... i tried to kill Foryn Gilnith, "the killer of noobs", he killed me first time, tried again, killed again, checked my spells list... and i seen the conjure dagger.
now, i killed Foryn easily, because daedric dagger and short sword skill as a racial! :))))))))))
next time, i started to pay attention to races, racials, classes, birthsigns... and i feel the noobsiness pain only when i want to feel that frustration again! :)))))))))))))))))))
