I remember saving him as a kid just by standing under him and letting him land on your head. For some reason him landing on the pc causes him to take no fall damage.
Yeah, I did the same thing once, I figured out how to avoid his falling event early on, then came back later and saved nearby once I had enough speed to get underneath him in time.

I remember when Morrowind glitched out on me in one playthrough and Tarhiel just didn't die when I approached. Don't remember what I did back then - probably saved or slept breaking the fall physics, heard a scream and was very confused to find a weird elf that wanted nothing to do with me just standing on top of a book in the middle of nowhere.
I am a 36 year old boomer that rarely visits youtube and never comments and I just wanted to say that this video brought joy to my soul. Thank you for saving Tarhiel. He has been on my mind for 20 years.
If you have Tamriel Rebuilt installed you'll get an actual quest for saving him since according to TR's plotline Tarhiel is a court mage in Old Ebonheart. If he dies, you'll have to help a new court mage ascend to the post
@@prettyokandy230 it's not incorrect since there are still plenty of lands in Tamriel for the team to work on. But Tamriel Rebuilt already is a fully playable mod that includes tons of finished content. You could say that future updates for TR are like sequels or addons for a finished product. We defo shouldn't wait to play it. And the quality is in places even better than vanilla (especially in the two latest updates).

They already have more content than in TES V Skyrim or Oblivion and the landmass is 2 times bigger than Vvardenfel. This project is not about finishing but about continuously expanding the game world in every direction - a neverending task motivated by love and creativity!
There is nothing quite like your first play through of Morrowind when an elf randomly falls out of the sky. Also, when you try out the scrolls yourself and die on impact while aiming for Balmora.
A more efficient way to do this was creating 1 pt levitation spell on target with a high area and casting it on the ground below our jumper. I've tried it a few years ago and it's worked very well.

Slowfall is an essential spell and is used as a buff on an exquisite shirt. It gets 5 points of night-eye, 1 point of slowfall which is all you ever need for a feather light touch on the ground no matter how far you fall, and waterbreathing. Notice the order of the enchantments because it matters. Any other order and all that won't fit onto the shirt.
Oh hey, i did this a few days ago lmao I just made a spell that applied slowfall 1pt on target for like 10s and fortified my speed a bunch to run directly underneath him before casting I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who wanted to save him :)

Good video! Here are some tips you could have used to make the challenge easier: Slowfall's magnitude affects the fall speed, but as long as the target is affected by a magnitude 1 slowfall effect, they don't take any damage from falling, even though they seemingly fall at the normal speed. Very useful in conjunction with Jump effect, BTW, since it allows long jumps without fall damage for little mana investment; With that, you could have made a magnitude 1 on target slowfall spell that has area of effect (as big as you can afford mana and/or casting chance-wise), plus a very short duration. With this spell, instead of trying to hit the moving target, you rather time it to hit Tarhiel's impact point right before he falls. But of course, seeing RUclipsrs get progressively more frustrated with each attempt is more enjoyable than seeing them being smart, so this was an enjoyable watch nonetheless. You more than deserved a like and a comment as a sacrifice for the Almighty Algorithm!

I did this way back in the day and was so sad there wasn't any secret quest or just some dialogue options that came from this.
Good video! Here are some tips you could have used to make the challenge easier:
Slowfall's magnitude affects the fall speed, but as long as the target is affected by a magnitude 1 slowfall effect, they don't take any damage from falling, even though they seemingly fall at the normal speed. Very useful in conjunction with Jump effect, BTW, since it allows long jumps without fall damage for little mana investment;
With that, you could have made a magnitude 1 on target slowfall spell that has area of effect (as big as you can afford mana and/or casting chance-wise), plus a very short duration. With this spell, instead of trying to hit the moving target, you rather time it to hit Tarhiel's impact point right before he falls.
But of course, seeing RUclipsrs get progressively more frustrated with each attempt is more enjoyable than seeing them being smart, so this was an enjoyable watch nonetheless. You more than deserved a like and a comment as a sacrifice for the Almighty Algorithm!

“Down you go- gah” omg when you made that reference haha it’d be great if you did a play through or some dumb challenges in KOTOR 1 or 2 I only just finally played and beat the first game like year before last and loved it for how cheesy and quirky it was. Older games can really have all of these little dumb bits of content that really make everything feel special. I really need to finally play Morrowind through instead of just watching challenges and memes,
