    I wouldn't do it full time. Better part time 2 or 3 hours a day.

    If I had to drive 45 minutes away it would not be worth it. Lucky for me the hotspots are like 5 minutes away. All restaurants near me.

      @@mitchabrams4082 As you said determining if you can make a living off of something is very difficult indeed. Just too many variables involved to be able to accurately answer that. Where I live for example is most likely a whole lot busier than where you live. We have many restaurants and many wealthy people, and many businesses. And therefore probably many Door Dash drivers, maybe too many. Anyway I don't think there's a way to determine that answer without just going out and doing it.

    Hi....have you tried scheduling your week ahead of time so you get first choice?

    So this video was over a year ago, so hopefully you can see this. Honestly you're cheery picking and not putting alot of time in.
    I've been doing this for a year just with door dash and love it. However, I work 12 hour days Wednesday-sundays. I make anywhere from 700-1000 per week and spend about 100 in gas. I take some low paying high mile orders and they do reward me.
    Also I do have other side hustles I do in sales.

    • @mitchabrams4082
      @mitchabrams4082  Год назад

      Glad it's working for you. I'm definitely cherry picking. I've got a threshold of what I want to make per hour which is around $25 before deducting for gas. You note that you're working 60 hours/week and making 700-1000 before taking out gas money. That's around $11-16/hr. If that works for you, terrific. We each set our own goals re: what works for us.

      @@mitchabrams4082 it's alot of hours but I figure being independent or running your own business you put in those hours anyway. It's definitely a weekly check I cam count on. It's basically a base pay. I run another sales job I do on the side that's also 1099.

    Mitch, I have two questions, maybe they are silly but I will ask anyway... 1. Do all tips go through dash app or customer can give you in person as well? 2. When you deliver the food, do you ring the bell and wait when customer open the door or you just put the order by the door and leave, plus take a pic for proof? Thank you in advance

    • @mitchabrams4082
      @mitchabrams4082  3 года назад

      Irina - customers can and do give in person tips. I've had customers hand me $20 before, in addition to the tip they have left on the app. Doesn't happen often but it's nice when it does. I don't ring the bell or knock unless the customer specifically requests that. I take a picture of the food on the porch, complete the order and leave.

    How are doing with doing this full-time....I'm asking because I'm currently part-time who wants to quit his full-time job to do this gig work only....I'm waiting till year end for health insurance reasons....I'm figuring 5 days a week would come close to my full-time job but working 6 would exceed it I feel

      Hey Nicholas - I'm finding that it's pretty tough to do this full time and make enough to cover monthly expenses. That definitely is not the case in all markets but it is in my area of Northern Virginia. Now that folks are going back out to restaurants the delivery business has slowed down. I'm hopeful that once school starts up this fall the business will pick back up. Right now everyone is so sick of staying home there is a huge rush to go out to eat, I don't blame them! Once that wears off the delivery business should bounce back - I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    Five Guys has been making me wait 8 minutes all the time. So today I declined them..... 2 times !!!! And I got some better orders !!!

    • @mitchabrams4082
      @mitchabrams4082  3 года назад

      Five Guys is definitely a bit of a wait. I've been told that they don't start cooking the fry order until you get there which would definitely account for the delay.

    My Monday night was busy, great, but tons of $4 orders going 6 miles,’not so great… also, I find I decline a lot of the $7 orders going 5 miles on a busy night but on slower nights, that $7 order going 5 miles doesn’t look so bad

    • @mitchabrams4082
      @mitchabrams4082  3 года назад
