BMW X7 xDrive 40i: Combined fuel consumption: 10.5 - 9.2* l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 240 - 210* g/km. All data according to WLTP (* preliminary data).
Official data on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions power consumption and electric range were determined inaccordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the NEDC take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size; figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment.
WLTP values are used for assessing taxes and other vehicle-related charges that are (also) based on CO2 emissions, as well as for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies, if applicable. Where applicable, the NEDC values listed were calculated based on the new WLTP measurement procedure and then converted back to the NEDC measurement procedure for comparability reasons. Is it just me or is the previous gen x7 better in looks and convenience with the physical buttons? A gear toggle?? But why, the previous gear lever was just perfect with the Crystal control knob.
I think the only real upgrade the car got is the backlights but other than that

In my opinion it’s amazing
As an X7 owner, I really like the older exterior design than the current one. In the interior though, I like the bigger screen and the upgraded ambient lighting. As many others have been saying, don't get rid of the physical buttons, especially the aircon buttons. It's really difficult to find something from the menu while driving. Example I like to toggle between recirculated air and outside air, today it's hard to do this while driving as there is no button.
totally agree. I have a current gen x5 and I love the layout with all the physical buttons for most used functions. I'm not a fan of this new minimalist design and the giant screen looks 'stuck on' versus the current generation's screens that actually flow with the dashboard.

@@sbanerjee007 people who haven't seen or been with the 'old' one will likely be wow'd by the giant screen and the new lights and stuff. those of us who were lucky enough to get the old one lament all this new stuff that's prioritizes aesthetics over functionality

No it doesn't. And how are they distracting? Are you some kind of subterranean breed?
@@ClaireYunFarronXIII Im not saying it's bad that it looks like that, it just does. Any sort of light source coming from anywhere other than the road (at night) is distracting. It's just common sense. My car has a version of that but more subtle, you get used to it but there is always something in the corner of your eye.
I have ambient lighting in my mercedes and it was never distracting at all. Maybe turn down the brightness a bit or use colors which aren't to bright. I always loved them in the dark.

Hyundai’s lead designer previously worked at Bentley/Audi. So it’s not surprising that BMW design is similar.

As x7 owner.... The screen we have now is the perfect size. Dunno why they make thing with annoying Mercedes sets with all those colors and screens. Also a/c physical controllers is a must for me... Other than that the car was and still is perfect. Can't wait to try the new engine.
Yeah most people at work are looking at a screen the whole day. When you go home you don’t really want more screens in your face especially at night, turn off the screens and chill.
Hard to put into words the anti-climatic disappointment caused by a panning shot that starts on the redesigned face and ends on the exact same rear as the current model.

It’s as if they took everything that was right about the X7 and ruined it. The air vents & arrows that light up on the dash are an overkill and quite honestly tacky in design. Also the head lights ruin the classic look of the BMW halo lights for the last 40 years. Also the changing of M50 to M60 and not giving it a V12 like the M760 is disappointing. A lot of mistakes made with this redesign.
I don't mind the new exterior design. I think more automakers should consider split headlights so that the active lights (high and low beams) are less glaring to oncoming traffic. I don't understand how eliminating physical buttons for HVAC and radio controls is luxurious. It takes several times longer to make changes via a voice assistant or multi step menu touch screen. It's also more distracting and less safe to use the touch screen because there's no tactile feedback and you have to look at it.

The headlight design though🦍I am huge fan of the previous design that has been part of the company's since its started . I love everything else...there was no need for the split and more lights... Traditional BMW lights would be great.
Looks like BMW is going Toyota Prius design lines. What happened to the BMW aggressiveness in design, the round Angel eyes with the kidney grills, I mean this looks 2050 but so far off from what BMW stands for.

@@BMW can you make a BMW called the 7Z5 pls it should be like a sedan car like the front lights should be like the 7 series and the back should be like a 5 series like a mix it would be cool and interior should be like a comfort car and make the screen different and nice and big and more cool modes and the interior of the door should be like a glassy strong door with some lights and 2 or 1 sunroof and a lot of space for the back passenger's and a fridge to step up and be better than the Mercedes and the A.C should be up so they could feel air on their face and the floor should be soft like a carpet and when you enter the car there should be like a BMW sign on the floor. Hopefully this could happen it's my dream if that couldhappen BMW the best forever.

@@hs5942 No that isn’t it in my opinion. It is because the design is too much for a small profile versus it being on a taller and longer vehicle.

This New X7 is a 6 passenger right? with better access to 3rd row seats with a corridor or its a optional feature?
Here in switzerland, the 6 seats is optional, as it comes as an 7 seater:)

As an owner of a X5 I really like the front of the older X7 better. The new front end looks like a Hyundai Santa fe. I hope BMW re think this design. The interior of the new X7 looks awesome.

Headlights were a mistake.
One big criticism I have of my 2021 BMW X7 are the OEM tires. H-Rated junk. The car jitters hard under braking. I hope this has been addressed in the new model.
I’m a current x7 owner and this is certainly not the successor people want. This is an exclusive, expensive family hauler not just an expensive exclusive fun vehicle. This is in every way less convenient and functional then the current model and the front looks hideous. Does bmw employ people with kids? Doesn’t seem that way
I have a 2021 X7 and LOVE it!!! I'm not a fan of this new version.
It had a very sleek headlight design on the pre-facelift that had not aged at all. This design will look less and less fitting as time goes on. It’s a big polished Hyundai Santa Fe

the issue with the 40i sport you don't even get close to 20 mpg bmw is claiming. I've tracked my mileage on normal city driving and i only get 10.5 mpg.
