A great alternative to Screen Opener for loosening up old tape, is Mineral Spirits. It has the same effect as the screen opener, but it was WAY cheaper, and it has a much lower VOC, so it doesn't evaporate as quickly. It seems to 'melt' the old glue.

Good note. I have not used mineral spirits since if first started printing in my home a life time ago. I cant remeber if it was the mineral spirits, or acetone, or some other solvent but one of them locks the emulsion into the mesh right??

Hey dude, I use a technique where I use the actual roll to smooth out the whole pallet in one swipe. It works insanely well.

    Hi Cam,
I have 2 little questions : the pallet tape, what is it for ? Is it just a way to protect your pallets from the glue you're going to put on it ?
And what type of tape are you using ?
By the way, I'm going to start a small business in france and I must tell you that your videos are a real gold mine ! Thank you !

Hey Cam, do you think "wrapping" your pallet tape has a better effect for long runs where eventually your tape likes to get caught/picked up from the additional fibers of the shirts being repeatedly loaded onto the pallet???... Ive never tried the wrapping method.

For sure, Wrapping prevents tape edge lift, and protects the sides of the pallet from adhesive. It's just the better way to go.
