What a find by your mother! It’s interesting to see more of the everyday parts of normal life preserved as they weren’t treated and handled with extra care because they were just so normal.
That long stitch is wonderful. Well done. Keep dabbling with stitches in-between the chaos that is inevitable with smalls around. I didn't and I think I lost part of myself for a few years
You have a lot of History in your collection. Dates back to the 1880'n& 1890's are a true treasure to have. Yes they are that old!! Take care of them. Love your channel.
Hi Lyndsey, so lovely to see you back. Your stitching is absolutely beautiful. Love seeing everything you do. Thank you for the lovely shoutout. Take care. Happy stitching 😊
I stitched some of these little houses and cottages way back in the 1990's. They've been lost in the mists of time so it was fun to see them again. Another Poldark fan here, I'm on my 3rd go around with the series and just never tire of it. You asked what the 'd' meant on your vintage pattern book. Its the old fashioned sign for penny. So that 2d means two pence, in old money. ( it changed to decimal in 1971).
Hello Lyndsey. Such a lovely flosstube as always. Love that you’ve done some other stitchy projects. You know how much I love that ‘wings’ from just nan. Thank you so much for the mention too 🥰 (you said my name right too) Happy stitching 🪡🧵 x
Fab video, I love all your projects especially all the vintage bits you manage to pick up. I just literally laughed out loud at the way you used your say Hermione, I used to say it exactly the same! I didn’t know how to pronounce it until the Harry Potter films came out! 😂😂
So many beautiful projects... but I adore the Shepherd stitchery... absolutely stunning! I also love the underwater scene! The Slow Stitch for your Mom is beautiful! Yes... a new start fixes everything! 😉
Lovely video! Love seeing those old patterns, I'd have bought them too if I'd seen them so your not alone in liking stuff like that and i know exactly what you mean about the smell! :) Jen
Lindsey, don't worry about mispronounced words, we all do and it's entertaining because we are all guilty of. There is a Google pronunciation that I use. I'm going on 70 and am a voracious reader. If I find a word I don't know, I look it up. We just adore you❤ I love all your thrifts finds! I've found great pricing on yards of Aida (old stock.) And I've started dying my own colors and love the surprising results. Enjoy motherhood, it goes so fast! And please share any creative pursuits you've tried. The embroidery is fantastic❤
Hi Lindsay, just found this episode and loved it - subscribed 😊 You have lovely projects and I love that you try new things, need to take a leaf out of your book. And those old books/leaflets your mum found were awesome 🤩 We all have pronunciation mishaps I think, Hermione got me too back in the day. I can help you with your Scottish castle though - Eilean Donan is Ay-len Don-en. You weren’t far off - and it’s beautiful if you ever get the chance to visit. I’m off to watch your previous episodes, and maybe introduce myself to Poldark too 🤔☺️
Oh my ! Loved loved the vintage books your Mom found for you ! You will cherish those always . I am so happy to have found your sweet flosstube , I look forward to seeing you again . Friends in history of stitching and loving the “smell” of vintage :)
Love everything that you show in the Video. Everything is so pretty. I love love your Embroidery Pieces. They are so pretty. I hope that you will finish the Red Barn one. I love doing Stamped Cross Stitch. You don’t have to Count. You just make the X’s with Thread where they are at on the Pattern. Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🧵🦯🧵❤️
Hi! Loved watching your video. The just nan chart you're working on is gorgeous! I recently discovered Just Nan and am starting one of the birds in my maynia starts 😊 The Emilie Ferris book is lovely. I bought it a while ago because of that beautiful bee pattern 😍 Your thrifty video is great too. Can't go wrong with a cross stitch bargain!
Came across you by accident and really loved your video you come across as a very genuine and charming person and I will be pleased when I see you post again. Thanks
i really loved seeing the long stitch kits..i had quite long pause from cross stitch and was doing different things and i think i wold enjoy bit of stitching with wool..off to ebay i go to have a look
I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes the smell! 😂 yes you’re so right, I’d love to know who she was. I might have to do some Facebook searching or go old school and post a letter through the door asking for this person who is potentially from the 1800’s 😂 thank you for watching! 🥰
NO WAY!!! I’m so excited that I’m not the only person who thought you said Hermione like that! 😂😂 that’s hilarious. Thank you so much for watching! I’ve thought about reading the books also! I might have to have a look on eBay for them. 💕
In Russian Hermione is pronounced almost like you did. So maybe you don't pronounce thing wrong, maybe you just speak a lot of languages! Anyway, so glad I found your channel. For some reasons English flosstubers are a perfect mix of Western and Eastern cross stitch styles for me. Keep going!
So happy to see you post another video, i still owe you a reply on insta (sorry 🫣) but had to comment here. I feel the struggles to find time to stitch, film, edit, post...its a lot. I meant to film this weekend too but was just braindead and couldn't. Thats ok. Anyway its so hilarious that you pronounced Hermione, just with the letters pronounced in the order they come up. Makes total sense to me. I pronounced it (in my head) the same way until i watched the movies and was like "what"? The most funny thing though is, as you continued talking about you cockerel pattern. My mind was blown as i virtually just read a book about poor cock-e-rel who forgot how to crow to my son and had that lightbulb moment of...oh, thats apparently not the way to pronounce it 😂 you would like german 😊 we pronounce things exactly as they are written 👍
Loved your video. Seeing those vintage kits took me back to a time many, many years ago when I visited the Harrogate show and one of the stands had all of the Derwentwater Designs model stitched and hanging up. They seemed way above my limited capabilities at that time being petite point and stitched over one. I do have a few in my stash and am inspired to get started on one of them. I was a big Just Nan fan too and still have one as a long time WIP. Love that you cherish these older designs and will be looking forward to your next video. Happy stitching, Margaret

@Wolfystitches Haha. I bought mine from 123 stitch. There is a Bluebird and a rose bird 😊

I love the vintage finds ❤I so would buy them and I love the smell too 😂 you just wonder who she was and if she stitched them ❤

I just did the mushroom jar too! I beaded the spots also. I’m just not sure how I want to ffo it, any ideas?
Poldark is one of my favorite shows of all time, I’ve been feeling a rewatch coming on. I’ve thought about reading the books as well but haven’t yet!
I’m dying I used to say Hermy-ohne too! I’ll never forget hearing them say it in the movie the first time I was like ohhhhhh 😲
NO WAY!!! I’m so excited that I’m not the only person who thought you said Hermione like that! 😂😂 that’s hilarious. Thank you so much for watching! I’ve thought about reading the books also! I might have to have a look on eBay for them. 💕
🌸🌸🌸
I also pronounced Hermione wrong! I was reading out loud to my cousins, and my uncle corrected me. I was so embarrassed! Glad I’m not the only one… 😂
