Two things amaze me about the videos you share: 1) the number of cams shared by people who have actually caused the accident shown; and 2) the number of drivers that drive straight past an accident they just witnessed.
To be fair stopping your perfectly fine car in the middle of an intersection is still not ok even if you're going to render assistance By that I mean just because you see them drive of screen doesn't mean they aren't just finding somewhere safe to park before rendering assistance
@Matthew Cycling : In SE Asia it is mandatory to have a dashcam with certain insurance companies. No dashcam = no insurance. That may happen in Oz as well. It's possible that the video has been "leaked" onto the Internet by an insurance employee, not the camcar driver.

A cyclist almost killed himself on my bonnet one day. I was crossing two lanes of traffic in congestion, both lanes gave way to me as they were in stop start traffic anyway. A cyclist was riding down the middle of the stopped cars and went straight into the front side of my car as I crossed. Tried to blame me for his stupidity. This was long before lane splitting was allowed for bikes in traffic.
But also, if the next line over is full of stopped cars, slow the fuck down until you can safely figure out why! Chances are pretty high that not doing so risks an accident.

@@ElusiveTy In Germany we have a system called zip merging, where the cars from two lanes have to give way to each other in turns at the point where the lanes merge. This allows for more fluent traffic flow. So in that case the driver who didn't make space would be 100% at fault.

As a motorcyclist this is one of the most dangerous things you can do and the cause of many crashes as people change lanes as they want to get into the free lane.
Yup. High speeds through intersections and past stationary/slowing vehicles was a common theme in this compilation. Slow down when approaching a busy intersection or anywhere that's busy that you might need to stop at a short distance. It isn't rocket science
Also, from someone who lives in a city with a ton of red light runners: you NEVER want to be the first one to jump right into an intersection after the light turns green if you can at all help it. Slowly accelerate and look around while proceeding.
Sounded like he was on a call as well. Good demonstration of why you should try to minimise distractions while driving - your mind wanders and you go into auto driving mode and then you're more likely to make a mistake like that.
I see this all the time. There are too many "Good Samaritan" drivers on the road creating situations like this, thinking they are doing their good deed for the day. I'm talking about the car in the left lane. They give way when they should not. They create dangerous situations for pedestrians and other drivers. Encouraging kids to cross the road in front of you is stupid. Kids trust adults. My sister spent a week in hospital 35 years ago due to ignorant drivers in the same sort of situation.

They will go in the left hand lane that is ending shortly and slam on the acelerator to try and get in front of you, causing you to slam on your brakes to avoid an accident. They were about level, and the car in the right hand lane has priority. Why do you think he should have slowed down to let them in? I think they were both pricks. The 4WD driver is trying to pull ahead at the very last part of the merge lane to get ahead. Usually to get someone to let you in you need to give them a bit more notice than that. It should never be a "desperation merge" where you're running out of road. But once it was apparent the truck was coming over, the dash cammer could've avoided the accident by braking and pulling back. Two stubborn idiots who refused to budge an inch because they just HAD to have that coveted spot behind the white Subaru.
This is why I took my dad's license off him at around 75. I didn't think he was a safe driver. No discussion. No appeal, no doctors tests. And no complaints from my father. He knew. Family members need to take more responsibility if they were to kill someone, its as much on you for doing nothing.

The guy filming doesn't have to give way to an asshole forcing their way in (and speeding, upping the danger in the first place), they dug their own grave at that point driving so recklessly. Would I have slowed and let them in? Probably, and I would've honked for ten seconds straight. But was the person driving to blame? No, they were not the ones speeding and recklessly merging.

I find this fairly terrifying. I usually think of accidents as caused by a series of unforeseen or unavoidable incidents or mistakes but honestly most of these seem to be caused by blinding incompetence. How did these folks get a driving license?
Two things I learned: 1) Be extra careful around traffic lights. 2) Beware the blind spot when turning across two lanes. BTW, I was surprised by some of the bad behaviour after the accidents.
Yes, I was on vacation in the USA and saw a women crash into a parked truck while putting on makeup. I went to help and no one else did becasuser the people on the rebuilding sister were all illegal aliens. She was unconscious in her car and when she came round I said I'd call an ambulance and she said no as she could not afford it. I sort of insisted and even though she was injured had just been unconscious she said it was $1000 dollars and she could not pay for it. Talk about exposing everything wrong with the USA in one accident. They hire illegals to build their houses as they don't have to train or pay them properly. They parked badly half in the road and caused a crash and then they would not help her because of their status.

I’ve been here before, towing a 2t tractor on a car trailer with a navara, was whipping over 80km/h, only thing that pulled me out was flooring it to straighten up then back off

1. Always have a dash cam in your car
2. Use arse-holed instead of rear-ended

In Germany we have a system called zip merging, where the cars from two lanes have to give way to each other in turns at the point where the lanes merge. This allows for more fluent traffic flow.
So in that case the driver who didn't make space would be 100% at fault.

As a motorcyclist this is one of the most dangerous things you can do and the cause of many crashes as people change lanes as they want to get into the free lane.
Yup. High speeds through intersections and past stationary/slowing vehicles was a common theme in this compilation. Slow down when approaching a busy intersection or anywhere that's busy that you might need to stop at a short distance. It isn't rocket science
Its the ones when one entire lane is slowing to a stop and they continue as if nothing is happening. They are slowing for a reason, read the road.
Also, from someone who lives in a city with a ton of red light runners: you NEVER want to be the first one to jump right into an intersection after the light turns green if you can at all help it. Slowly accelerate and look around while proceeding.

I see this all the time. There are too many "Good Samaritan" drivers on the road creating situations like this, thinking they are doing their good deed for the day. I'm talking about the car in the left lane. They give way when they should not. They create dangerous situations for pedestrians and other drivers. Encouraging kids to cross the road in front of you is stupid. Kids trust adults. My sister spent a week in hospital 35 years ago due to ignorant drivers in the same sort of situation.

You learned to drive in Australia didn't you? The car in the left hand lane does not have priority, this happens all the time in Australia. They will go in the left hand lane that is ending shortly and slam on the acelerator to try and get in front of you, causing you to slam on your brakes to avoid an accident. Undertaking in most countries around the World is ILLEGAL. This shit infuriates me. Why didn't the car just slow down and go behind? They were about level, and the car in the right hand lane has priority. Why do you think he should have slowed down to let them in? Why shouldn't the car in the left lane slow down and just go behind?

I think they were both pricks. The 4WD driver is trying to pull ahead at the very last part of the merge lane to get ahead. Usually to get someone to let you in you need to give them a bit more notice than that. It should never be a "desperation merge" where you're running out of road. But once it was apparent the truck was coming over, the dash cammer could've avoided the accident by braking and pulling back. Two stubborn idiots who refused to budge an inch because they just HAD to have that coveted spot behind the white Subaru.

The guy filming doesn't have to give way to an asshole forcing their way in (and speeding, upping the danger in the first place), they dug their own grave at that point driving so recklessly. Would I have slowed and let them in? Probably, and I would've honked for ten seconds straight. But was the person driving to blame? No, they were not the ones speeding and recklessly merging.

Yes, I was on vacation in the USA and saw a women crash into a parked truck while putting on makeup. I went to help and no one else did becasuser the people on the rebuilding sister were all illegal aliens. She was unconscious in her car and when she came round I said I'd call an ambulance and she said no as she could not afford it. I sort of insisted and even though she was injured had just been unconscious she said it was $1000 dollars and she could not pay for it.
Talk about exposing everything wrong with the USA in one accident. They hire illegals to build their houses as they don't have to train or pay them properly. They parked badly half in the road and caused a crash and then they would not help her because of their status.

Legally, the car on the left had to give way to the car on the right. So why is everybody saying the car on the right should have slowed down when it's the responsibility of the driver of the car on the left to slow down?
@RonnyDonny13 Well you seem to be quite happy to ignore the law just to get in front of another car. That literally makes you one of the drivers that we expect to see in these videos.
The person in the black car had to give way. That means slowing the fuck down for the other cars that have right of way to carry on.
Just because you don't like that law, it doesn't mean that law doesn't apply to you.

@@hamburgerfatso Maybe, maybe not. Slowing down might kill the oscillation or at least reduce the energy of the impact. Hitting the gas might work or might make it worse, and if you still crash it will be a worse crash.
I’ve been here before, towing a 2t tractor on a car trailer with a navara, was whipping over 80km/h, only thing that pulled me out was flooring it to straighten up then back off
