One big takeaway from so many of these dash cams is that the air bags rarely deploy. They should deploy and immobilise the car. It seems from so many hit and runs this does not occur.

For a good chunk of these, either people look no further than the end of their bonnet or are glued to their mobile phone. And so many red light runners !
All you have to do when you're driving on the road, is look at the other people around you. So many people just sit, looking ahead, with no peripheral vision at all.
Unless, like me, you're a motorbike rider and you slide into one, like someone I (used to) know did. They're rider shredders and not survivable. The barriers with the strips on them we are more likely to bounce off but these things suck us in.
@noid919 coming from a family with many riders I have always questioned these barriers ever since they came out. Obviously the risk assessment on them did not include motorbikes
@@noid919 Get real - not good to ride into, sure, but better than the tree or oncoming traffic they're saving you from. Lets face it - bikes will always be bloody dangerous and if you want the fun of riding you have to accept that, not blame the traffic engineers or car drivers.
@@kenoliver8913 The barriers/guardrails/dividers with the metal strips running horizontally are much better at protecting riders and preventing them from being instantly killed. But I assume they're more expensive to install or repair or something because these ones are taking over where I'm from. I do accept bikes are more dangerous and I do ride anyway, but that doesn't mean I can't complain about supposed 'safety' features that are most definitely worse than nothing (for a rider). There's a chance I'd miss a tree (they're spaced further apart) or maybe no-one would be coming the other way, or maybe the oncoming car dodges my sliding body, but there's no way I'm surviving a slide into one of those wire barriers at anything over 20kph.
09:27 Another prime example as to why maintaining a safe following distance is so important. Even on a motorcycle, you cannot just tailgate and expect to be able to stop safely.
Overtaking on double lines on a bridge with oncoming DC car, DC had nowhere to go, was easily able to stop unlike the moron who skidded into them head on.

How can that shit be good for you, I didn't understand what all that was until he arseholed that poor basted, that was the worst case of hives I have ever seen 😮
Ok I watched that part a few times. That turn is pretty masked in, and it could confuse some people that they are indicating left but it was just go into that lane. The white car did kind of brake hard but that doesn't matter because they were indicating left and no-one behind them should be that close. The car turning into and cutting off the truck, pretty much slammed their brakes. To me that car is to blame, because the truck driver has plenty of space behind the white car but not enough for someone basically cutting in and slamming the brakes - a truck can't stop in that distance that quickly. So for me 100% the car cutting in is to blame.
Its amazing how many of these crashes involve someone tooling down an urban road at some crazy speed and then acting all surprised when someone turns or pulls out in front of them

There's a chance I'd miss a tree (they're spaced further apart) or maybe no-one would be coming the other way, or maybe the oncoming car dodges my sliding body, but there's no way I'm surviving a slide into one of those wire barriers at anything over 20kph.
