- Code Snippets is an amazing plugin that will enable you to run PHP and CSS snippets on your website. With code snippets you don’t need to add custom snippets to your theme’s function.php anymore.
A snippet is a small chunk of PHP code that you can use to extend the functionality of a WordPress-powered website; essentially a mini-plugin with less load on your site.
Most snippet-hosting sites tell you to add snippet code to your active theme’s functions.php file, which can get rather long and messy after a while.
Code Snippets changes that by providing a GUI interface for adding snippets and actually running them on your site just as if they were in your theme’s functions.php file.
Code Snippets provides graphical interface, similar to the Plugins menu, for managing snippets. Snippets can can be activated and deactivated, just like plugins. The snippet editor includes fields for a name, a visual editor-enabled description, tags to allow you to categorize snippets, and a full-featured code editor. Snippets can be exported for transfer to another side, either in JSON for later importing by the Code Snippets plugin, or in PHP for creating your own plugin or theme.

Code Snippets Plugin became Pro as you predicted, because it will not let me add CSS in free version. Good thing is, I found a replacement for that named: ""Custom CSS and JS". Anyhow, the video was awesome because it pretty much gave me the idea on how to achieve custom CSS on my website. Thanks man, you're a life saver.

Thanks for this video. I am using a child theme. So far, for many reasons and on different occasions, codes have been inserted into the theme using plugins like Custom CSS, Additional CSS, and also in the Style css, functions.php .... If I want to edit anything, i do not know where i have made the changes. In this plugin title and description will make it easy locate and edit it if the need arises later. I intend to bring all those codes that are in different locations to this Code Snippets. Will it affect the site in anyway?. Thanks

This looks like what I need.
I want to add an extra field for product categories called "category description bottom". This is extra (wysiwyg) text below the products of the category. So you basically have "category description (top)" and "category description bottom".
Have you got a tutorial on this or do you know where to find a tutorial?

I have subscription form on my divi website page. A have an subscribe.php file with a code that handle the data that summited to the server. In order that to work I need to upload the subscribe.php file to the server. Uploading files to the server is not easy for me and i am trying to avoid it.
My question is, is there a way I can do it without uploading the php file to the server? maybe define php code snippet and call it somehow?
I would use Bloom to get subscriptions from your website.

And in case you define custom html form and want to customize something about the submission handler you need to define .php handler and upload it to rhe server. I qm trying yo find a way to avoid the need to upload file to the server. Any idea?

Hi, i like the organisation in Code Snippets. You can turn everything on and of. But when you use a child theme you can keep using it. Code Snippets is more future proof.
@@ferdycom thanks Ferdy..so you like the flexibility of enabling and disabling code in the site rather than it always running in a child theme....I agree :) I think I will stop using child themes and try it this way from now on. Great video!
