Lake Cumberland 09/28/2024 Three Fish Tournament!

This was the second tournament on Lake Cumberland for the fall section of our tournament series. We fell short of the win because the first keeper smallmouth you see me catch in the video ended up dying. It was hooked in the tongue. I did everything I knew to do to keep it alive but unfortunalely it didn’t work. I try my best to ge a good steward of our fisheries and I make every effort to keep from a fish dying but as you all know, sometimes it happens anyway. All of the fish I caught came on 2 different baits, a 1/2 oz dirty sanchez jig with a green pumpkin craw by #C&SLURES and a bellow shad in smallmouth magic on a free rig. The jig fish was on my #DixieCustomRods 7”7” Meat Stick. All in all, it was a good day on Cumberland, especially since we were still dealing with some weather from Hurricane Helene.

Awesome video! I am fishing Cumberland for a high school tournament this weekend, Do you have any advice?

@@breadman8053 I would concentrate on points between Conley Bottom and Harmon Creek. That bellow shad was working well for me and a dirty sanchez or Cumberland craw jig is always a good option.

@@ChuckJohnsonFishing I was planning on fishing beaver or Otter, you think I should fish down that side of the lake more?

@@breadman8053 personally I would. I don’t do as well that far down the lake. A lot of guys do though.

Good video but need jerk earlier so you dont gut hook every fish you catch killing them

@@DougMartin-c2x well Doug, normally I do and normally I gut hook very few fish but the bite was very subtle that day for some reason and I did the best I could. Only 1 fish died, although that is unacceptable for me, I was able to save the rest of them. Thanks for the advice though.
