Don't think Chase will ever forget that trip. Looked like a pretty good boat hand, he was all over that net anything someone hooked up. Good work gents!
Wow!!! Looks like great fun and a thoroughly rewarding way to spend the weekend. You lucky guys have some great eating in the future with those catches.
Nice...down in South Carolina , at a hydra electric dam when it would kick on and the water would rise up a foot. The stripers would come, smack the shads on the surface. Stun them and gobble up the shads. My wife missed a big one with a shad jerk bait
To cool.ive had the opportunity to witness strpe bass from wolf creek caught 30 year s ago that weight of 38 pounds.no ?? There is a ks.record waiting for the young man to claim
Near St. Paris , Ohio , there's Kiser Lake, a 394 acre paddle only lake. That place has serveral species. That place has huge "Wipers" , hybrids white striped Bass. I have to finish moddin my kayak and get out there. The fish are in the middle on the bottom
Great video and thanks for posting it. What a blast. Is it still good fishing the damn with all the we’ve had recently. Thinking about coming down next weekend... thanks!
How on earth do you keep your boat up there in that current??? I don't have a boat but soon will and wonder how to keep it so still!!!?? Wow what a great video !!
We were on my buddy's boat that day. I believe he kept his outboard in gear, and also used the trolling motor when we were up against the dam. I appreciate you watching!!
I honestly can't remember if he kept them or not. Older vid so I'd have to watch. But yeah if it's legal I'll harvest once here and there. I know a trip or two ago we did good. Kept a few and added to a mess in the freezer of crappie I'd caught at grayson. Fed like 15 people back in April for a big celebration. Was a great time. Walleye crappie bluegill and a hybrid striped bass. Great memory of friendship.
Great catch there at Wolf Creek I witnessed the 38 pounder over 30 years ago get caught by the guy that ram rotted the nuclear plant before the lake was ever open he put a 38 pounder on his wall after that he caught some around 42 to 44 lb so I'm certain there is a state maybe world record waiting on that young man right there at Wolf Creek I know he's in there I used to guide Beaver lake caught a lot of 40 pounds and I believe Wolf Creek will be the next world record freshwater striped bass so keep that young man in that boat let him get it
Jonathan (the bearded guy) actually brought shiners from a nearby bait shop. I think there is one in Monticello? But, that being said, after fishing that day I know for a fact that hair jigs, swimbaits and spoons would work too.
Long distance I use surf gear. Personally I use a saltwater setup. But here I had a 2500 sized reel with 8lb mono and a good med fast rod. But if I could do it again on this setup I'd use 10 or 12 lb mono

He really is a great boat hand. His energy motivates me :) Thank you!

I like how the camera didn't show you putting those walleye back.Never be concerned about what other people think.

Awesome video! I'm heading to wolf creek in September and staying at the campground for 4 days. Was this video early morning or later near sundown?
Thanks man. Early early morn!
Great catch! what's the limit for Stripers?
It’s 5 that are 15” or better unless you’re on the lake, then it’s 2 at least 22”
Thanks :) Jon is correct I believe
Great fishing , great host, but that boat is a mess !
Thank you!

@@johnlodwig940 amazing story. I'm sure there are some brutes in there. I hope he gets one soon 🙏
Where did you get the shiners?
I believe we picked them up in Winchester on the way.
There is a bait shop close to the dam that usually has big shiners.
If u were to go to the river with one lure, what would u through?
Probably a swim bait
Was wondering how you drove all the way there and didn't fish for trout or stripes
Yeah man! Part 2 after this I actually fished hatchery creek the next day as well
how do you catch your bait , ive been trying to go down there a catcha few but don't have the bait to do it ?
Jonathan (the bearded guy) actually brought shiners from a nearby bait shop. I think there is one in Monticello? But, that being said, after fishing that day I know for a fact that hair jigs, swimbaits and spoons would work too.
@@thesaltygoogan thanks for the info might have to go check them out and see if i can catch a few !
Do you know how many cfs the dam was running this day?
I do not :( and trying to figure out exactly which generators will run is a thing I can't figure out either.
Your reels were doing overtime
Def put in work!
Dud i was just waching this
What's your go to rod and reel. I have never fished for striper. What's your go to rod and reel

Why don't I ever get the invite to fish, oh because I am retired
Man I'd love to have a trip with you and Paul anytime 😊
