To add on the coloring at 10:00, it's actually very common in the professional world but always ignored by RUclipsrs that they combine costume and set design to create a color scheme but many of these RUclips tutorials just tell you to put a gel or push a specific color in post. Anyhow, I just stumbled upon this and this is great info. Amazing videos on your channel!
Finally after over 5 years of watching youtube gear and tips related video I've came across this. Finally someone says the correct thing. I agree with you at 100% of ALL the points you've talked about. Good stuff, keep it up and let's hope this video get to the most people possible.
@@WhiteJadeProductions as a "youtuber "filmmaker"" (in small scale) I totally agree on that... and got myself a new point when it comes to self doubt haha :)
8:04 So my problem with that is that the lens I currently have on the camera also stays on that same camera most of the time because all the accessories are somehow interconnected and attached to it. From an efficiency-point of view, it's much better to just have it on. Sigma 18-35 f1.8 (27-52.5mm on ff) just gets me 80% of the shots. I have a wide and a standard 50mil (basically) in one thing with a fast aperture and insane quality. It has wonderful manual focussing and feels like it's just meant to be there. Here and there, I use my 50mm (75 on ff), or a vintage 58mm (87 on ff), but it's always that minute of changing lenses, reattaching the matte box for ND, getting used to the new manual focus position. It's just way more efficient to have a do-it-all and USING it like it's two primes.
sure i totally get that! it definitely makes sense in some scenarios but just try it out from time to time! zooms definitely save time if possible using a prime could get force you to get a shot you otherwise wouldn’t even think about!
Putting yourself in an awkward position using primes is great advice. I forced myself to only use primes the past 2 years, and learned so much from it. I even learned to love super wide lenses that I'd previously hated 😂
This is something I regret with ytb videos. They are produced to match youtube videos standards. Its hard to discover new workflows, new technics and new ways to think the jobs. Just a little feedback, it has been said before, but music was a bit loud
Resolution is a lie, you can’t tell the difference between 1080 P and8K without a magnifying glass. If you’re just starting your videography business, makes more sense to get some thing like the Sony FS7, or, if you wanna get hired out to shoot features, get the Sony f55 or an older Arri
the stuff i’m saying are things i’ve been aware of for a while. just sharing my thoughts and opinions! i don’t think any of this is super profound, just not talked about often
To me, your color grade is not that pleasant. Why everybody is color grading or tries to color grade or push and manipulate the colors to the point at which the image feels weird? Unorganic? Unnatural colors?
That's a totally fine opinion! because this is a cinema lens (and movies shot on anamorphic typically are very stylized) I opted for a slightly more pushed grade however the colors are fairly similar to the actual ungraded footage!
Binge watching your videos man . This channel is gonna be HUGE !!!!
ahaha thanks man!!

you’re absolutely right! when i shoot commercials we create a color scheme as far as months in advance!

Glad it was helpful!
I really enjoy your stance on this common misconception. Especially pertaining to the "copy and paste" prospective.
i appreciate it thanks!!
10:49 that's the best advice/thought of the video.
Creativity shrinks, the bigger a company/person gets. Not just in Film.
youtuber “film makers” (who don’t actually make films) are kind of an issue when it comes to actually giving advice for people on real sets

Great info, and video my man! I see you put a lot of work into it, and i appreciate it🙏
thank you! i appreciate it!
Great points and you’re very good communicator! Just a little feedback, the music was quite loud and distracting at times
thanks for the feedback! i will definitely pay more attention to that next time!

@@WhiteJadeProductions I agree. Primes boost your creativity. Zooms boost your Efficiency. And somehow, one must find a balance between that.
it all depends on what the job requires!

it’s definitely the best way to think outside the box!
Your audio is fantastic!
What mic did you use? And what did you do in post production?
I used the Holland Lark M2 mics and just a little EQ and compassion in post
When the man says gear is not important, while he is using FX3, FX30, A7lV, Lumix S5ii. 😂😂😂😂
it’s definitely important!

very true unfortunately! and thanks for the feedback
I still think it’s funny that we call it 4K (image width) which is the opposite dimension used to label 1080p (image height).
it is a bit weird how it works ahaha
Solid video. New sub, I’m sure you’ll go far 👌🏼
thanks dude!!
I will Tell my Kids this was fix it in Post Malone 😀

depending on the type of editing monitor the difference between 1080 and 4k is a bit noticeable but for a beginner definitely doesn’t matter!
Enjoyed this video, new sub.
appreciate it!
The colour grade 🤌🤌
