I've grown mine out a few times. It always gets to a point where it hurts my face for some reason. I have a beard again but I'm keeping it short for now.

I think I'd have had more fun with it. Mutton chops for a day, 70's style sideburns with fu manchu mustache and then cleaned it up in the end. The important question is what does your wife think of it?

When I grow it long it eventually starts hurting my face and getting in the way and I just want it gone. No time to mess around. She likes it. This is the first time she's seen my face. I had a bear when we met and I haven't shaved since.
