On the road in Malaysia: From Penang to Malacca by bus
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 фев 2020
- We get the road in Malaysia on a bus from Penang to Malacca (or Melaka in Malay). What we thought was a 7-hour drive turned into 10 hours on a bus trip. In this vlog in Malaysia, you will see what went right, what didn't and the surprises along the way.
In George Town, we first went to Komtar bus terminal, and the long-distance bus departed from Sungai Nibong. In Malacca, we arrived in the area close to Melaka Sentral station. If you're going from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka, don't worry, it's much easier. It should be a 2 to 3-hour trip depending on what time of the day.

► WHO AM I?
Short answer: I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
Detailed answer: • How we afford to trave... 😉
P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely camera shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;-)

Bus drivers are NOT supposed to smoke while driving. It is against the law. Should complaint to the bus company.
Interesting, next time we may speak up
Sometimes my uni bus smells like cigar when we board, so I knew the driver was smoking in the bus before picking us up and it smells gross 🤨
@@RenataPereiraTV Hi Renata 🙎👒did you know that smoking 🚬 in bar or on a coach in the UK is a criminal offence,to do so you can be arrested and locked up,and let me say this,I am not against somebody having a smoke 🚬,but I hate people smoking 🚬 in restraunt when having a meal, also the smell 👃of smoke 💨on your clothes👔👕👖👗👚🚭but travelling on a coach for 10 hours is a big No No especially if there is young children 👭👦👶👪 on board in a hot and humid climate.
Welcome to Malaysia
Thank you!! 😊❤

Hi Renata ! Welcome back to Malaysia ! I'm so sorry for the unpleasant experience that you and Gordon had to endured during your bus trip from Penang To Malacca. Happy safe travelling.
Adrian Koh thank you very much. It is a pleasure to see your country and the small inconvenience pales in comparison to the interesting history, fantastic food and warmth of the Malay.

Yay! More Malaysia videos... Your Singapore to KL luxury coach / bus video is why I subscribed to your channel a long time ago..have seen EVERY upload since :)
Arnold WOW! Thank you very much for following us all these months!
Renata the Bonita back again in lovely Malaysia,,
Please say hello to your husband 😊
Hi. I am from Melaka. Google map was telling the right thing. For a bus to travel from Penang to melaka will take 7 hours, but Google map doesn't know that the bus will detour and make 2 stops at 2 different stations (the reason they do that is to add passengers since the bus will be most likely empty on a direct trip to melaka).
Second. No bus drivers not allowed to smoke. Should have shoot a video so we can report him against the authority.
And Third. The bus driver did drop you at the bus terminal and its known as Melaka Sentral but he was supposed to drop passengers inside the terminal complex and not outside. In the video, the terminal complex was just across the road.
Do come again please. Tq
Thank you for the information. Yes, we learned about the bus terminal as we circled around it. Strange he dropped us outside. Guess there are better bus companies in MY
The way you tease Gordon is very cute...
Thanks...we like to have fun
You are back!....
Looking forward to learning more about Malaysia!
David Cole, we have some previous videos about Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Penang. These cities are all very different. Do check them out. 😀
Hey... Welcome back to Malaysia.
Really happy to see you both here again. Love your vlog.... 😊
Thank you very much
Hi Renata...welcome back to Malaysia enjoy ur trip
Thank you! 😃
I'm here again! I love your channel and I watch for training my English!
Congratulations Renata!
That’s awesome, Alex! Welcome back 🤗🤗
Y me too...
Penang to Melacca took 10 hours Wowww! Just a suggestion if next time you visiting Malaysia and want use BUS , I recommend Mayangsari,KKKL,City holiday express or Meridian holidays . All same price or maybe not much different from Billion Bus that you took. Never took Billion bus again.. anyway thanks for visiting my country ❤️ hope you'll come back again.
Thanks for the tips! Yes, we will be back as there is so much more to explore😀👍
wow..you come again to malaysia renata.😘😘😘
Iam now for our vacay in Malaysia (KL) 7th time. I don’t know what’s Going on. Especially malay woman are so grumpy and not kind (some are still the best) Less Tourist (afraid of Corona) malls are empty. People are complaining. Malaysia stay 💪🏻!
Could be just the moment, maybe

Welcome back to Malaysia ^^
Thanks for youre video
Thank you for watching! 👍
Welcome back to Malaysia
Last week I bought Billion Stars ticket to Penang from KL. But the bus canceled at the last minutes so they passed me to another operator without explanation, without apology and unfortunately the bus wasn't as attractive as Billion Stars' ads. Disappointing. If I knew it would happen, I'd choose KKKL rather than Billion Stars.
Sorry to hear. Unfortunate, but looking at the bright side at least they transferred and got you to Penang and did not leave you behind. Good to hear the bus companies work with each other
i did the same trip last year. but by train. Penang to Tampin , then a GRAB ride to malacca.
Ok, another option. Why Tampin, I assume train does not reach into Malacca or does ir? How long was the train ride?
@@RenataPereiraTV Train don't go to Malacca. Almost 7 hours on train + 30 mins by car.
Wow can’t wait Melaka videos 🥰
Coming up!
enjoy Melaka River and town at night... also Joker walk...
Jonker coming up!👍😋
Renata there are many bus companies that do not reach the level of cleanliness and consumer satisfaction. As a Malaysian i just wanna share some bus companies like MaraLiner express, Transnasional express, Plusliner Express, Etika express, Arwana express, Utama Ekspress, Sani express which is care about quality of their services. Hope it helps you to choose Bus in Malaysia.
Y Khrul, thank you very much for the information. This is what we look to share with our audience. Prices are pretty much the same?
@@RenataPereiraTV yup.. the price is about the same. if have, the difference is only about 1-2 ringgit malaysia. Not too much differences.
2 fighters)) Cool video👌👍
ha ha! thanks for watching oleg popov! 😀
Welcome to melaka.glad tat u made it.yes, the Portuguese were here.if u have visited the Portuguese settlement, u will experience the unique cultures.unfortunately, the language spoken there are different. Anyway, melaka has a diverse ethnic culture. Enjoy
That's what we love about SE Asia and especially Malaysia....the mix of cultures and traditions and food. And Portuguese too! Would be fascinating to compare with Brazil/Brazilians.
Eyy, welcome back to Malaysia for both of you. I take it you enjoyed your flight journey from Japan to here. Also, since you speak portuguese, don't forget to check out Portuguese Settlement (Perkampungan Portugis).
Welcome back to Malaysia !!!!
Thank you!
Welcome to Malaysia, I'm from Ipoh, perak Malaysia
Thank you. Looks like a charming city and we passed right by. Next time we stop in
omg. there's a bus from penang to melaka. just what i need!
HAHA, yes but also check if there is a train. The bus we took, thru KL, was a long journey. a flight may be just as good
I'm so glad that you decided to come to Melaka! I've been studying here for 4 years and even though I'm a KL girl, Melaka will always hold a very special place in my heart. Hope you enjoyed your time here!
Serena Khoo, a a great little city to study big enough to offer variety but not so big to get distracted. What are you studying? Almost graduated? Will you move back to KL? We had a great time though too short.
@@RenataPereiraTV I'm studying law and this is my final year here. I'll definitely be going back to KL after I graduate 😁 And I totally agree with you! My campus is located in a quiet place which is good for studying (I would've been wasting my time shopping if I were still in KL 🙈) but it's not too secluded. My friends and I still go to town every other day for dinner and shopping to unwind. Melaka strikes a nice balance between touristy things and the local life, so I hope that you got the most out of your experience here!
Serene Khoo How nice! We stayed in 2 places, one far from downtown (this one in the video) just to relax, and another downtown to enjoy the touristy areas. Indeed, we had a great time! ❤️. All the best to you!
@@RenataPereiraTV Ahh I saw that the one in this video is Atlantis Residences. It's actually located in Kota Laksamana and is still what we locals consider as "town" 🤭 Still, I get your point, it's a place where more locals than tourists hang out since tourists will immediately flock to the area within the vicinity of Jonker, A' Famosa, Stadhuys etc.
Serene Khoo Yeah! Wow, you even recognize the building!! 😁 I’m impressed! 😁😁😂🤗😉😘😘
god bless u amazing vlogs & great edit Obrigado
Thank you 🙌

Renata: These Busses in Penang, Malaysia are just remarkable busses for tourists to rides in Malaysia around the cities in 2022!
Easy transport between cities.
there is a flight directly from penang to melaka@malacca,melaka to penang by airasia and malindoair
Thank you for the information. Next time it would be the transportation of choice
@@RenataPereiraTV your welcome and also have a train to tampin border of melaka (which is ETS), then need to take a grab or taxi..
Fyi, Malaysia has electric trains (ETS) running on certain sectors, too. If you like to take train journeys instead, like from Butterworth (Penang) and along the route to KL.
Be a travel journalist. Maybe an investment in publishing travel guides will generate some returns, too.
As Asian countries are now developing, they have many ATM machines in major cities including towns too, for Cash and Credit Cards withdrawals.
Meantime, continue to explore the history, culture and traditions of each country.
Cheers
jc kalden, thank you for the information. You suggestions are very appreciated! And we will keep exploring and most of all enjoying!
Well come back dear I wish I want to meet u me in kululumper😊

Thank you for the suggestions! 😍👍
Welcome to my hometown Melaka city. Actually your hotel is really close to my house. Hehehehe
I like the explanation
Thank you! 👍😀
Pls dont travel with gjg Express bus as well. Bus so dirty as well . I had a very bad experience before
Seems some companies could raise their standards of service.
Same with me... Even i lost my phone there and there's no response from the management office
I love watching your video. It is so exciting to drive from North to South because of many beautiful scenes you can see. But I do once driving from North to South and East using the federal roads. Not the toll expressway. The bus you two boarded I believe using the toll expressway. The duration for taking federal roads could be much longer. You mentioned 10 hours of travelling. The federal roads will take as similar as that but could be more because of the numbers of traffic lights and road congestion at certain areas especially when approaching nearby towns. By the way I am Malaysian from Pahang. It is situated at the east coast of Malaysian Peninsular. It would take 3 hours driving from KL and 8 hours from Penang driving car and using expressway.
Ahhh! Yes, we took the expressway, as I saw the tolls. The road was amazing!!!
Have a wonderful weekend 🌞
Thank you, Florin! You too 😊😊
@@RenataPereiraTV Thank you 😊🌞
Jumpa lagi😊
Arigato... sawa de kap to Peneng..!
😃👍
Actually, Malacca have their own big bus terminal. But the bus company doesn't want to drop you inside the terminal. Enjoy your day at Malacca ;)
Thank you very much. Yes, we drove around it!👍
Welcome to Malaysia again!
😊🤗❤
Actually u dont need to go to any office. All u can do is go directly to to the bus station. But when u buy online, pls select which station u want to departure.. so u go to the nearest departure station. The station has all ticket counter..
And from georgetown. ETS the best option direct to kl sentral.. but u need to buy ticket early. Sunday ticket sold out early.. but sad no ets to melaka.. 😂😂
Thank you for the information. We and our audience appreciate.
I love kedah malacca
Thanks for sharing. What would you suggest to visit in Kedah?
Hi! See you guys are back in Malaysia... 😁👍 Missing the food here already? Thank you = Terima Kasih in local language. Good on you guys, finally visiting Melaka. Enjoy this historical city and all it got to offer. Don't miss the Nyonya cuisines and the Cendol gula Melaka ok! 😜😄😆
Ohhhhhh! There’s so such to do in Melaka 😊😀! It’s a lovely city
