I have to say Thank You Jack and Megan for paying it forward. I'm in Georgetown at the moment and in a local restaurant and this young lad comes up and gives us some Christmas chocolates. I thought he looked familiar so I went back to the hotel and watched this video and yes, it's him! I'll have to go back tomorrow and tip him so your legacy lives on! 😂😅😂😅
Penang looks like the sort of place you could easily spend a month exploring and still find hidden gems every single day........fascinating! Thanks so much for taking me there.
Hi Guys, I've been subscribed to you for ages and love your adventures in Oz and now Asia. A couple of tips for travelling overseas: never sit things like wallets or phones on your table at restaurants (at 17:10) and don't have drinks with ice in them if you wouldn't drink the water in that country. Also, avoid vegetables that have not been cooked or peeled. Have a great time. Stay safe and healthy.
The snake temple brings back so many memories of back in the seventies when I lived there, you could have a photo taken holding a snake that was supposed to be defanged and safe, but was later proven they were not!!
This place looks amazing and I’m like you Megan. I just like to have a walk around and see what’s about not really got a destination I do enjoy your videos to see where you are ❤
Cheers guys , once watched a doco about foodie Rick Stein on a food tour around Penang and it was magic…would love more map references as you go (more work I know) Interested on the currency exchange vs aud too. Looking forward to the next one.
What accent? You both sound normal to me. 😁 I love how you explore and try to experience the true culture of the areas you visit. Another enjoyable episode guys. 👍
I really really really hate crowds and probably couldn't enjoy tripping around Asia so watching it through your eyes while i am alone is awesome ... to answer Megans question, i dont have a destination in mind, just a general direction whenever i am touring so that allows me to explore every thing that attracts me along the way. I have found so many awesome things while exploring and the pure joy that brings makes every trip worthwhile.
hi guys, great video, good laughs- esp the bloops!!!. as i am living in Thailand at this moment i need to do visa runs every 2 months. my last trip was to Penang and found most shops and areas closed. Its a pity because i really liked it there on my first trip.....i was on the ferry to penang when the Tsunami hit on boxing day- We all know that day!!! what a ride that was....everyone getting tossed around the boat. i thought it was just rough seas. shocking once we got off the boat. From your video i will travel into Georgetown next time as it all seems like its back to normal after the covid situation. Take care monty
Another awesome video, sometimes the local drivers can be the best source of info on places to go and see. We have quite often got a driver for the day and told them to takes us to all his favourite spots in Bali, you'd be surprised at some of the places you end up at off the beaten track.
Yes it’s so true hey! We actually had the idea about a month ago to actually go up to any driver and just do exactly what you said you did! It would make for a great episode hey!
Carrying around those big expensive cameras in plain view makes you a prime target for pick pockets and thieves. Why not buy a very plain looking bag and keep your cameras in that until you pull them out to use them and then put them away again. Travelling OS is very different to travelling in Oz and there are a few more steps to take to keep yourselves and your belongings safe. Also suggest a thin stainless steel wire with a padlock to thread through the handles of your suitcases and through a handle in the train to prevent anyone from picking up your gear and walking off with it. It’s easily done if you are travelling in seats separated from your luggage. Believe me it can happen!
We’re extremely careful with all our stuff!! Everything is kept in my back pack which has a zip then another layer that is locked and can only be opened if you know how to open it which isn’t easy. The bag is plain black so not sure how much more plain it can get. Can be hard sometimes as we are constantly filming everything, so far it has been ok but definitely on the look out as soon as we leave our accommodations always.
nice trip but seems a bit rush. there are still many nice place and food that you both havent went and tried. next time if have chances to come PENANG again i would love to introduce both of you where to go and eat. at night also have night market for certain days😊
Excellent episode guys. I'm digging the things you noticed when in the places you visit. Some of the B rolls you add are very interesting. It gives the vibe of the place. Great one. 👍
Yum to the food. Loved the jetty houses, no to snakes😂. Living these videos of your travels. Looking forward to next one. Did you guys have travel vaccinations before travelling? I am because going to Vietnam at Christmas and looking at all options. It is ok if you don't want to answer on this platform.
Great stuff you two 👍 how have you found Singapore/ Penang as far feeling safe etc? Been to bali and visited the out regions but the in town barter hassel is so annoying plus yeah the Bali belly🥴🥴 that was enough to never want to go back 🤣
Oh man, my anxiety was going off with the water bottle on the suitcase hahaha. How the hell did it not fall off 🤣🤣🤣 Another Great video, those jettys looks so cool! no rails or anything, just a platform out over the water. They certainly do it differently around the world hey. I've seen that umbrella alleyway on Instagram before and i had no idea it was in Malaysia! We're all learning so much from your adventures Always amazing videos. I cant wait for the next one already
Classic so funny you mention that because we ended up losing that water bottle! It was on the case all the way up until we jumped in the train after that we don’t know what happened to it 😂 awesome place hey! Cannot wait to share where we are now!!
Loving your travels, showing us (hubby and I) what we missed out on when younger!! Our travels now are far more sedate, but still very enjoyable. Loving seeing how passionate you are in experiencing new things.
When i was a child, the forest nearby brought many snakes into the temple. Of course, i was scared and horrified. My late father assured us it was "tame". I think they were attracted by the burning of joss stick , incense.
Gee look at you two lapping it up in Business class!!!😎🔝 At least you had the lounge to yourselves👌🏻🤣🤣 only thing missing was your Gucci and Louis Vuitton haha Haha I love how everyone just ignores fire alarms🤪 Penang looks beautiful❤️🩹 Haha funny when you talk about our language cause everyone loves Aussies👌🏻 I’m with Megan. Every country, state, town I’ve travelled to I’ve purposely got lost to explore and come across stuff that the average tourist doesn’t see. It’s unreal and discovered heaps in doing so😎👌🏻
I have to say Thank You Jack and Megan for paying it forward. I'm in Georgetown at the moment and in a local restaurant and this young lad comes up and gives us some Christmas chocolates. You’re spot on Heather! We needed more time!!!

That's "wan tan mee" you're having at the end of the vid. Popular Chinese dish all over Malaysia. Try a Chinese char kuey teow next.
I learned something new in this video. Taking the speed train to Penang from KL Sentral BUSINESS CLASS!
It was such a nice train ride!
Megan & Jack thanks for the video 👍👍
🙏😊

Way back when, I was a kid, there were so many snakes twisting and winding... not so many now...

Loved this vlog, has a more outdoorsy feel, you have to love those countries where you can afford the 5 star treatment,
Yay so happy to hear you enjoyed it! 🙌🏼 So good to feel a bit fancy every once in a while 😆

In my opinion your filming and content is extraordinary. I think your asian odessy has been a walk in the park compared to 3 laps of Aus. 😊
Thanks Brian such a nice comment 🥰👍🙏😊

Hey what suitcases are you guys travelling with? We are looking to travel europe with just a carry on
They’re called July suitcases they have been great so far very tough!
@@itsJackandMegan thank you 🙂
Dont have a discount code do you? 😄
@@Rizaldi112 We don’t sorry about that.
😊😊😊😊😊
Stall owners weren't like that in the past, now whoever seat at their table is required to order a drink to "book" that table
Was odd that the guy told us to sit at that table then the lady that had the drinks stall said we have to buy a drink!
We are loving going with you on this trip and seeing some of what you are experiencing 😊
welcome to my place
Thank you! 🥰🙏🏼
5:12 old ferry more fun than this

The Milo sign was pretty random 😂
Haha we’ve seen milo everywhere in Malaysia and Singapore!
Had to laugh, step off air-conditioning train into humid air and camera instantly fogged, don't ya hate that .😊
Haha we gotta get used to that here 😅
