@@HELLO_KORO oh girl this was NOT Disney. Disney movies even sucked back then, trust me. You don't want them to bring back the old ways (maybe animation, but not designs). This movie had traditional animation but was ahead of it's time also I forgot to add that despite the old animation looking cool, we're trying to change things for the better instead of make things like how they were 30-100 years ago. Like, Disney can bring back the old techniques but I don't to see underage mermaids wearing nothing but tiny seashells and I don't want the villains to all be portrayed as cartoonish ugly while the main characters are always seen as "attractive" and I don't want the sidekicks to always be short and fat. I also don't want racial stereotypes either. Hopefully Disney is aware how the themes in their old movies caused a lot of body issues for people. Raggedy Ann even kind of breaks away from that, notice how none of the female characters are sexualized, not even Babette! She's curvy, but not excessively curvy with a two inch waist. Also, King Kuku with his body dysmorphia and being so insecure about his height that he tries to control everyone to make him get bigger. Like, this movie did so many things that Disney still doesn't even do today, let alone back then! It'd be nice to see a 2D animated movie but NOT FROM DISNEY!
@@jocelynecupcake the villains didn’t look ugly, you just have bad beauty standards. Imagine complaining about the beauty standards while complaining about girlboss Ursula. Also, sidekicks weren’t all fat and short. Sorry your standards are messed up, you’re here complimenting a literal toy for beauty standards that shouldn’t apply to you. Same as the “sidekicks”. Also, wow I can’t believe racism existed in the past?? /s. Disney should be ashamed of doing the same thing every single animation studio did lol (not saying racism is ok but it’s not like racism wasn’t everywhere back then). Considering they’re dolls tho, Bedette is pretty sexualized. But that’s expected for the time.
@@ma.2089 Babette is not sexualized, she has a normal curvy body, not exaggerated curves like Ariel or Jasmine. Also, Disney movies were mostly focused on romance while this didn't. Also, sorry but Ursula was portrayed as "ugly" because if she wasn't, why would they draw her face so cartoony compared to Ariel?

Mark Baker, American stage and film actor, who sadly passed away in August of 2018.
I'm probably the only other person here who loves Mark, ESPECIALLY as his role as Andy. R.I.P.
Thank you! ❤️
Aw... I only just now discover the miracle that is Raggedy Andy's voice to discover the man behind it has passed. Rest in peace.
Rest In Peace, Mr. Mark Baker
Rip Mr Baker
Okay but this video made me watch the whole movie and his and Ann's brother-sister relationship is probably the sweetest dynamic I've ever seen. I love how Andy's always making sure if Ann is okay and tells her she means a lot to him.
Same I watched it all like 3 days ago it's so cute
I really wanna see this sibling dynamic in modern media more often. Most shows with siblings make them hate each other or have the younger sibling be annoying. You never really see this sweet of a dynamic between sibs anymore, save for animaniacs.
@@princeofvos
Yeah I do get the whole annoying thing and all but like what is this
@@NameName-yj7lp Wdym by that? Are you referring to my comment or..
@@princeofvos
Like the annoying brother sister aspect is understandable but why do that when you could make a cute sibling duo
i genuinely love how the internet will revive an old forgotten cartoon every now and then just to simp for one of the characters
This comment literally made my face quickly go 😯😗👀
Bro fr... it’s actually kinda nice to see. It’s cute.

I love it when a touch of southern charm shines through!
Now I just wish he’d called Leonard a “yankee”
His voice is really attractive and calming in a weird way
It's weird

Weird means beautyful if you Ask me :]
It’s just attractive in general. I feel like I have a memory of having a crush on him as a kid too 😂
He was voiced by Mark Baker if any of you were interested in that knowledge

Ik this is an Andy appreciation video but Anne’s little “don’t worry now” at 2:50 made my heart go 🥰🥰
Honestly!! her voice actress sounds just as sweet and soft as Andy’s, this is such a pleasant film to listen to :)

I love how sassy wet careful he can be with his sister one minute andy's like "too many girls" and the other "DON'T YOU DARE DO THIS TO MY SISTER!!",is a shame this movie doest have many fans outside animation peeps and old school people even with all it's problems

Back when American animation actually had soul...
Disney needs to bring back it's 2D films, all these CGI movies look identical
@@HELLO_KORO There's Tangled series tho
@@HELLO_KORO oh girl this was NOT Disney. Disney movies even sucked back then, trust me. You don't want them to bring back the old ways (maybe animation, but not designs). This movie had traditional animation but was ahead of it's time
also I forgot to add that despite the old animation looking cool, we're trying to change things for the better instead of make things like how they were 30-100 years ago.
