I actually shed a tear at the "help me" scene. It was amazing in the Anime, but it is also good in the Live Action.
Is it bad that I have never shed a single tear in my life from watching something or reading something but still felt sad?
Not gonna lie I actually called my motha to tell her I love her after this episode
@@princezeke7549no not at all if you felt a little sad not if you don't feel sad at all then there something wrong with you😂
@@princezeke7549lol nah some people just get more emotional over movies, shows or books than others like how not everyone mourns the same
Shed more than one...
This adaptation has far and beyond my expectations. Normally I stray away from these, but OP has been so instrumental in my life, I had to. I can't wait for season 2!
I knew that Emily Rudd needs to really really nail this scene because it's among my favorite moments in One Piece, I've watched it dozens of time already. If she didn't do great I was afraid I would be too desensitized to get the feels. Yet she pulled it off. Awesome performance indeed.
Bro!!! How anyone can watch this and call it "trash" is devoid of good taste. My mom and I were absolutely crying messes for Nami's "Help me.". I've heard people call live action a "not like other girl" "strong women TM" and I genuinely think they came here from another dimension. Is such a rich and beautiful prefomance. Like WOW this show is amazing.
Also happy to report my mother is now so fully on board the crews she's watched it 3 times and is heartbroken to have to wait till 2025 for season 2. And I'm living in the delightful twilight zone where my mom is excitedly telling ME why Luffy taking the chains of the orange town prisoners in Buggy nightmare tent is the backbone of her loyalty and love for Luffy.
This is the best timeline!
Those people who would be so critical need to examine their double standards about women. It's really wild to see people like that.
Did they not watch the originla anime or something?
I am enjoying your reactions of One Pice live action a lot and yesterday I finished the series, the stories of the characters made me have all the emotions and Nami "Help Me" scene made me cry again hope for season 2 I really loved it.
My favourite music in the live action series is the fishman theme. It just bops so hard.
the music in that final scene is just gorgeous
The interaction between Zeff and Garp was such a W addition.
J'adore vos réactions... c'est touchant ! One piece c'est la vie !!!❤
My only complaint was that they changed that the villagers didn’t know about Nami’s sacrifice. The gut punch was even harder when you found out that they all knew all along and weren’t trying to pressure Nami and didn’t want her to feel guilty if she ever gave up on them. I have seen a good reason for all the other changes they’ve made so far, but I haven’t seen a good reason for that change. It’s my only gripe with the series so far.
The help me lufff scene is exactly same as the anime 😭
Arlong got that "Cyrus from 'The Warriors'" vibe there at the end. CAN YOU DIIIIIIG IIIIIT!!!!!!
10:21 I love how this relates to some of the recent chapters👀
Seems like they cut all the high comedy gag stuff. They cut shushu, the kids from syrup village and Jango, hachi. The tone is just much darker and more serious so those characters didn't fit as well.
You probably forgot but jimbe was mentioned in arlong park in the manga aswell.
Including buggy in arlong park was a surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one!
imagine seeing your child coming out your wife, you look at it and you say 'well, i wanted you to be a bill... but since you look like a rat, i will name you rat'
Cant wait to see white beard
Freaking love Garp and Zeff ❤
Nezumi translates to mouse. If you are caught up, we just met Captain Rat and he's just as shitty of a marine captain as Nezumi but they aren't related surprisingly.
Just watched 3dudes crying 😂
yo at 4:24 where you stop on the page that was Emu at the top left
its a little disappointing that Luffy was paying attention to Nami's backstory, because in the manga and anime he left before nojiko told her backstory and so that made the "Of course I will!" more impactful, cause He really didn't know what was happening or why, He just knew that Nami wanted help
Let's make them make a Skype arc by enlivening season 1
I love that they make you understand Arlongs point of view yes he's heartless but that's all in the name of helping the fishmen be treated the same as everyone else.
Thats not it. He wants revenge. He is basically a racist.
@@David-qs3jwNot basically, he is a racist, but not as bad as Hordy (or Hody, however the hell you say his name) who's just hates humans for no reason.
that "help me" didn't hit, but it was good acting, it's just that it was underwhelming because how good anime did the scene, not emily's fault tho... u can't adapt one piece greatness fully, it's impossible
Garp and Zeff having those scenes together was a fantastic addition, imo. We really don't get to see Garp interacting with his contemporaries besides Sengoku and Tsuru in the manga, so this was a nice touch.
I was so happy with that scene too! It's a nice touch and a scenario we'd never thought would happen 😊
I'd really like Garp having a drink with Rayleigh too.
Who do you think they'll get for Sngoku and Tsuru?
They can't write them out - definitely not Sengoku. And I'm hoping they won't write out Tsuru, I like her.
As far as the tough white haired ladies in this show goes, we've all but confirmed we'll get Jamie Lee Curtis to play Doctorine. Who can we get for Tsuru?
"Jimbei is a fool"
That line makes me hopeful to see "The first son of the sea" himself in all of his glory
Well, that would probably only happen in season 6 or 7 ... maybe 5, depending on the pace they are going ...
Boss Jimbei!
Honestly, the part that makes me respect the story so much is that Jimbei’s mentioned here in the manga too.
Honestly, the part that makes me respect the story so much is that Jimbei’s mentioned here in the manga too.
@@BestAnimeFreak if netflix lets it get that far
They did Nami sooooo well in this. A character who has had to be on her own for so long, who has been carrying not only the burden of her town's survival, but hatred from those same people, finally, FINALLY being able to ask for help. Luffy trusted her goodness even more than her own sister, and earned her trust through that. Nothing breaks me more than a character who has had to be strong finally being allowed to show weakness............I was in pieces
you described it perfeclty !!!
I love how they kept buggy important to the story also having the final part of the episode being the Nami asking for help and the squad getting ready to battle arlong is so freaking cool
Damn... no matter the medium this story just hits HARD 😢😭 And I cannot praise Emily Rudd enough, she is FANTASTIC as Nami and she did *justice* to the iconic "Luffy... help me" scene. Just perfect and heartbreaking 💔 I think what makes One Piece, One Piece is the CHARACTERS and this live action *nails* that aspect!
Perfection.
Emily and Inaki are INSANE. What a scene
Arlong Park is based off Sabaody park because Fishman weren’t really allowed there.
If they went it was risky as all the slave markets/celestial dragons were there.
They used to gaze at the lights from the sea and wish they could go, Fishman like Hody Jones and his crew, even Arlong and his crew etc.
So Arlong recreated a park like it for Fishman only.
Never knew how much i would enjoy a Garp and Zeff scene together
That scenes on Baratie between Zeff and Garp and Helmeppo and Koby is probably my favorite addition to the story. It worked fantastically.
I love the Help Me scene so much! The "Help Me" scene is treated with the reverence it deserves, serving as the emotional centerpiece of the season. After Nami finds out Arlong betrayed her, she runs, but collapses. Emily Rudd acts the _hell_ out of the scene, first repeating Arlong's name quietly before shouting at full volume, stabbing the tattoo on her arm before Luffy stops her. When she asks Luffy for help, tears are running. Not to be outdone, Inaki Godoy also puts in a great performance, quietly telling her he would help until he screams it to the heavens. To top it off, Zoro, Sanji and Usopp are positioned in ways that evoke the manga and anime.
her acting was shockinly good
@@esalesesales-z3m Why shockingly? Not a fan of Fear Street?
I'm shocked that I haven't seen any One Piece reactor comment on the fact that Nami's VERY FIRST LINE IN THE SHOW was "Help me".
why would it shock anyone? keymoment.
16:33 The Jimbei name drop reaction was the best😂
He’s name dropped that early in the anime too
Surprise Jimbei
@@garenthal9638Don’t count on people remembering that.
Probably my favorite episode. Emily Rudd as Nami really nailed it, everytime it gets me. That "Help Me" scene was too perfect
That's why Oda said it was perfect, he was impress by the Help me scene
no gonna lie , acting was a little too impressive
They Did a Great Job Reenacting that Famous Scene
- Young Nami is played by Lily Fisher (who also is Georgie in “General Hospitol”, young Ann in “Life & Beth”, Sarah in “Station 9”, & many more) while her being a toddler is played by Sophie Ellenbogen
- Nojiko is played by Chioma Umeala (who also is Ayo in “Isono” & Tara in “The Woman King”) while her younger self is played by Elihle Modise
- Belle-Mere is played by Genna Galloway who also is Enya (Resident Evil), Nadine (Alchemist), Jules (Our Girl), Misty (American Monster), & Reporter (Ice)
- Genzo is played by Grant Ross who also is Jannie (Catch Me A Killer), Horse Trader (Black Beauty), Henry (Grant), Bailiff (Warrior), & many more
- Capetian Nezumi is played by Rory Acton Burnbell who also is Colin (Black Sails), Hogg (Bluestone 42), Ferguson (Outcasts), & many more
- Easter Eggs in this Episode:
- While half of the crew are wearing their Arlong Part outfits Usopp is now wearing a new outfit that is based off the one he wears on Volume 11 cover
- Notice the back of the playing cards that Nami are playing have different designs with the ones in the flashback having a tangerine while the other has a Arlong & Sun Pirates design while on the front of that one the queen is a mermaid
- The money used in this series is actually designed just like the Berries used in the series
- Arlong Park is designed after a water park with one of its signs “Shark Attack” being a reference to one of Arlong’s attacks, “Shooting Galley” maybe a reference to Usopp / Chew, & Ghost Train a reference to the Sea Train but on the sign we can see a cameo of the zombie tree MocDonald
- If you look in the map room above every pillar there is a shark head statue
- When looking inside of the Historical Atlas of the East Blue book Nami is reading a page referencing the Oykot Kingdom which is Nami & Nojiko’s birthplace while underneath it you can see a Sea Cow & a Sea Boar, & you can also see it drawn on the map of the End credits
- Bogard mentions a curry house because Garp's favorite foods are senbei & curry
- If you notice at the bar you can see tiki heads which are based off 2 characters that being Ace & Spector (Mock Town Hotel owner)
- While a few of the fishmen are inspired by ones from the anime one is seen wearing the fashion brand Criminal which comes from Fishman Island
- That the Ending credits when they show the map of the Conomi Island you can see a drawing of Momoo the sea cow on the right
Hachi is in there... But not an octopus. In the cast list there's a HACHI/ANGRY FISHMAN...so yah, they changed it
Idk I'm pretty sure he was purposely kept out so he wouldn't get killed by Zoro. They clearly didn't want to have many fake out deaths.
nah that fishman was credited as hachi in the show, but he exists in the anime as a real fishman (the multicolored hair one)
But... Hachi means 8. Ya know, 8 arms?
Not to mention, Hachi is only his nickname. His full name is Hatchan.
THIS Hachi is just named Hachi.
@@beanzarubut Hachi was still alive in the anime though
Something else I love about this series are the practical effects, especially for Arlong and the Fishmen. They may have had to alter their appearance a bit, but they still look amazing. Also, I think the fishman with the multi-colored hair is supposed to be Hachi, but he's never name dropped, so I that's just my theory atm. And for those curious of what the music playing when Nami's money is being taken, it's an instrumental version of My Sails are Set, which is basically the theme song for this season.
nah, the multicolored hair fishman that nami played cards against with was an unnamed fishman, not hacchan. someone found him in the anime (idk if he appears in the manga) in the opla discord. however, the name he was credited with in the netflix series was hachi/random fishman, which kind of raises eyebrows imo lol
@@hellbunniez3 It's going to be a be twist for a future season. You thought he was just some generic fishman, but it was he, Hacchan!
It was I, kono Hacchan da, octopus cannibal
My Sails are Set is such a great song - it's specifically written about Nami and fits so well into her character, but you can hear it interwoven throughout the whole season. Fucking catchy, too. Got that song stuck in my head. XD
@@7thlittleleopard7 It is, especially with how everyone suffers from tragedy in some way, except for maybe Luffy. Zorro lost his best friend, Usopp lost his mom, Sanji nearly starved to death on an island (and even worse as it's revealed later on), and Nami not only lost her mother, but also her home and freedom.
Oda said Emily nailed the scene and it was fantastic. That made me bawl, she's such a good actress😭 all casts are so dang good, they all played their role so well. It doesn't matter to me if the actors doesn't look like the characters itself, or they look old for the character, or young, if they're too tall for the character they're playing, or it they're shorter. What matters is how would they act and deliver their lines, how would they give justice (in acting) their given roles. And so far? All actors did so great.
I don't care what anyone says but this live action??? The best so far. I don't give a sh*t to those wannabe one piece fans who are too demanding, entitled, and perfectionist, to the point they're sh*tting Oda for this. They don't even know the hard work that all people involved in this live action gives. Straight invalidating their hard work. If you don't want to watch it, if it's not your liking, then go away. Sh*tting on something that many people has worked hard for is not cool.
I thought Oda did say Emily nailed the scene?
The actors really loved their roles. You could tell they loved playing the role because of the passion that was portrayed, those vibes cant be imitated. Love all of them
Oda did mention he loved Emily's "help me" scene.
True!
@@nicktoons125he did, I typed the wrong word😭
Buggy obviously one of the people's favorite characters. But Arlong really did a great job as the villain. From weird looking in the trailer to menacing performance in the series.
And he manages to be menacing while wearing a moldy old ushanka
I can't believe I feel this way abt fucking ONE PIECE of all things... the original art style is way too wacky for me, but in this format the humor and heart really shines. Your excitement is contagious! And holy shit I think I... love One Piece now??
(Obligatory "English is not my first language" sry)
I never watched one piece anime before this. Now I'm in episode 70 in the anime . LMAO
@@zensawa271 haha oh nooo is this my future I'm seeing??
The Nami tattoo scene was perfect. Great casting and all the characters were done well. Loved this episode and the finale was lit.
Can't wait for S2. Guessing it might be Baroque Works arc.
I didn't catch it my first time watching, but when Nami tells Arlong "You'd better" and he laughs, he actually does the "Shahahaha!" laugh
That Nami scene! I was hoping they'd also do the whole crew posing, and they didn't disappoint.
The reason people feel it doesn't hit the same emotional notes is because Nami is tougher than she appears here. Lose 100 million? She'll be upset but she'll deal with it and regather the 100 million beri, having learned her lesson and no doubt having a backup plan for the next go around.
What truly broke Nami in the original was the knowledge that the villagers had always known and kept this knowledge from her (so that Nami could walk away with a lighter conscience if she decided to give up on gathering the money), and that her losing the treasure leads them to march on Arlong Park regardless of the death they might face because they believe Nami should no longer carry the weight. She was unable to stop her fellow villagers -her most precious treasure that she spent a lifetime trying to protect and save- and this is what breaks the tough Nami and makes her desperate enough to beg Luffy for help.
Treasure is a very important theme in early One Piece. For Luffy, it is his hat, and for Nami, it is the villagers who helped raise her. That is why Luffy placing his hat on her hat is so meaningful: you trust me to look after your treasure, and I'll trust you to look after mine.
The scene in the live action is still emotional and well-acted and without a doubt will be received well by audiences, but I really wish they hadn't adjusted that plot point and given it just a few more minutes to build out that part of the plot. (Then again, if they did, Netflix might become liable for psychiatry bills worldwide because that shit hits hard.)
Yeah, the twist is what gets me. Nami is 100% willing to suffer more under an abuser like Arlong if it means her village is safe. But the village returns her love and can't let nami suffer from square 1 again under someone who isn't gonna keep the deal.
Emily Rudd and Inaki do the scene perfect. It's just the circumstances around it is lessen. Probably due to time constricts. That's my real gripe. If the series had 10 eps than 8, then all the minor problems I have would probably be gone.
@@ruga-ventoj I think what they were going for is her letting the villagers hate her because she doesn't want anyone risking their lives by helping her which they may have been tempted to do if they knew, and because she hates herself for working for her mothers killer and feels that she deserves to be hated.
If that makes sense.
With this i gelt they did nami justice even with the slight changes it actually works for the pace of the show 💯🔥
Once done with the live adaptation, I highly recommend everyone check out the OST, especially Nami's theme (My Sails are Set). It's just so beautiful and sums up Nami's character so well.
Im so glad they kept buggy along with them for a while in their adaptation. The actor nailed it!!!!!!!😂
The help me scene got me but when luffy says lets go and the guys in unison go RIGHT that gave me chills. No hesitation at all
Gahh! I just finished ep 8 and waiting for more reactions from you guys! Finally getting to ep 7! 😁
I think when ever Buggy is on he steals the scene.
I am curious if anyone noticed if anyone had a problem with Nami sister's? I know I haven't.
This is the 1 think I truly dislike about the adaptation, Nojiko and the villagers TRULY hating Nami.
They lost all of the potency as characters for me, they became flat u know
One piece is real
In one piece this scene between a nami and Luffy made me cry man this was the most saddest thing I have ever seen including the anime and corn this show this actually made me cry
I feel like Sanji being in charge of Buggy’s head was a subtle nod to when he had Kinemon’s head in Punk Hazard
I have watched through this 3 times. This is the best live action anime ever made
Adding all the marine stuff works for me because it helps establish the scale and size of the world and it’s corruption faster than the anime does and if this season made the world feel small I think it would be a disservice to One Piece
To be fair, you can see there is corruption from the beginning with morgan and the nezumi captain and even the coby cover story when morgan took Helmepo hostage and it looked like they were going to attack but Coby intervened first.
but at the same time we also see that there are not also good marines.
and they did not have to tell us that there are good and bad pirates
like good and bad marines like they did in the first episode of LA.
Amd that also why smoker have a big impression
Because is the first strong good marine
@@m.alexanderduenas3077smoker isn’t the first good and strong marine what are you talking about 😭 garp’s literally right there, and so does some of them in the older gen
@@hellbunniez3 I'm talking about the anime/manga how the story is presented to us. we see marines who are good but they are afraid of morgan, they can't do anything. Marine who tries to rescue the people of nami island, and was defeated at one point. We must also remember that Nezumi would not have been the first marine to accept a bribe from Arlong.
Making it so everyone in the village didnt know about why nami joined the arlong pirate's was an unnecessary change that kinda makes namis story less impactful and when nami says luffy dosent know whats going on in this version dosent make since because he actually heard the story this time when luffy says of course he will when nami asks for help in the anime it means alot more because itbdidnt matter to him what happened just that it made her cry and for him that was enough
I found it to be the opposite, TBH. She didn’t have the secret support of the village, they legit thought she turned against them and hated her for it. It made her even more isolated and took away that little piece of silver lining. She really was all alone. I thought it made her backstory even more impactful.
👍
@Hellbilly709 I thought the same. By not telling the whole village it makes it even more impactful when she asks luffy for help. Cause in this version nobody knows but her. So the fact that she told luffy says a lot about how much she trusts him
@@Hellbilly709 i felt they took all the bite out of the villagers rising up in the mob because of that it was them deciding to die trying to fight back and let nami free from her burden that causes her to break in the first place but she breaks so quick in the live action I felt it was rushed I don't think it was bad but I get they only had 8 episodes and did the best they probably could have done
@@Hellbilly709 agree. It made Help Me more impactful as she was literally alone and helpless at that time. And Luffy lending her hand made you understand why Nami would follow Luffy everywhere after this.
I believe not including Hachi comes from not knowing if they are going to get to the point of the story where his part in plot becomes more relevant, since that is very, very, very far from this. So trying to make Hachi work visually just wasn't worth it. Plus, even if they got there, they could play it out as Hachi leaving before arlong park, showing his relationship with nami in flashbacks
This is the part of season 1 that was annoying to me, and it's the removal of Nami telling Nojiko about Arlong's deal, and she, in turn, told the whole village and they kept silent about knowing, adding up to the tragedy of not being able to stop Genzo and others from launching a suicidal attack on fishmen.
I really love your reaction to the point that i always check your channel if you uploaded the reaction already 😭😭
You guys should react to Fear Street trilogy, Emily Rudd (Nami) is also in there (If i remember correctly, she's in the 2 movies) she also did great there!!!!
I love how although they tie up some plot points diffrently it´s actually still more manga accurat than the anime is.
@@KruseControl Yes you're right however the anime censors some dark moments or exaggerates to the point where it loses impact. This feels more like Odas vibe even if it's different.
I disagree that it's more accurate. There's no sense in a kid that has seen her mother killed deciding to go and offer help to the killer.
I love how when buggy starts singing the shanty his neck flaps do a little dance
Stop with this titles
Our first “Marimo”! They called out Jimbei, my favorite character! I love the detail that they turn the tangerine peels into pinwheels. God, the “Help me” scene gets me every time! My only complaint about it is that I wish it was daytime. Also, Nojiko and the village not knowing about it and skipping the scene where Nami is trying to put on a brave face doesn't make Nami feel as desperate as in the source material. And while it's hard to watch Nami stab herself, it didnt feel like the mutilation it does in the original.
I think it's fine they changed some stuff so it hits new viewers just as hard the second time around (whether it be by anime or manga) as it does in the Live Action. I don't see why people hate the changes made so much when it just means that new fans to the series are going to get all the hype of "What, this is different?! But still... awesome?!" that we got in watching this.
@@7thlittleleopard7Not everyone gets the same reaction as you.
most people have had the same experience. most reactors - on both sides of the experience, have too. those who haven't liked it are few and far between. they exist, sure, but there's a reason it's gotten such great scores on rotten tomatoes and other sites - because universally it's fucking great. just a handful of people have bitched.@@Biostar96
About Hachi, the director said that they wished to have put him in but the cost to get an 8 armed swordsman would have been too much and even then it might not have looked great, so they had to cut him.
If you look in the credits they did name one of the fishmen after him
I never knew Zeff & Garp meeting was something I needed, but I’m so glad I got it
15:10 In French, her name means "step-mother", but that'd have no effect on the English (or Japanese) versions of the show. Like, we don't call Chi-Chi from Dragon Ball "milk" in English just because that's what her name means in Spanish.
I loved this LA series and I recon everything will hinge on how good chopper is done in season 2
My OP background (anime /ovas/movies watched multiple times through &read manga too)
The only change I wasn’t ok with was changing the cocoyashi townsfolk’s knowledge of nami’s deal
It diminishes the resolve of the town from what it was, something like “silently hopeful but resigned”
I didn’t care about the village (besides genzo &nojiko) as much because of that
It also removes all meaning behind nojiko’s tattoos 😢
Literally only thing I dont like with OPLA is the lack of Hatchan.. everything else is awesome!
Zeff was talking to Sanji about Luffy's determination
when he was fighting Don Kreig. : )
So refreshing seeing men get emotional. Loved your reactions
You know, when Luffy trusts someone with his hat, it means real trust.

real men cry at scenes like these, kinda feel bad for some reactors who feel ashamed for crying, like no, FEEL THE EMOTIONS
One time I do disagree with the title, making it so the villagers and nojiko didn’t know nami was trying to save the village is a terrible change that robs the story of its drama
Agreed but I think it’s cause the fact they had to speed run arlong park so they went with an easier storyline.
Agreed. I actually kinda hate this episode. The original arlong park is one of my favorite arcs.
they also underutilized bellemere and genzo 😭 i wanted to see more of them bc genna and grant were amazing
These last two episodes made me bawl. For a trans girl who recently started HRT that's a big deal.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH, god im glad i was so wrong about the show we NEED a season 2 PLEASE me and my mother loved every episode
I hope the g line Arc of the action live one piece is going to be like a fusion tween the anime and manga I want to see that in season 2 of the one-piece action version of it
There's a distinct lack of Hachi it's true... which probably stems from the fact that he has *SIX ARMS.* You can't really make that happen with costumes and makeup, you need CG.
Richie probably got sidelined in Orange Town for much the same reason. By the time we get to Sabondy, they might have the budget to CG Hachi into existence.
But for now... all of that goes into Luffy's and Buggy's DF Powers, the Lord of the Coast and putting the finishing touches on Arlong and his boys.
The "help me" got me all emotional
From the view of a series producer a long Arlong walk would take away lots of episode time so I think they way they did this was great. Walk to arlong park would have been great for every Fan of course but for every decision we have to seperate Anime, Manga and the live action. Its so nice to see your reactions as you are also all passionate viewers and even readers of One Piece. Now I saw last episode is also uploaded already so I'm excited to hear your final thoughts.
I think the adaptation is really great, however I am one of the people who some of the emotional beats aren't hitting as hard for me. Idk if it's the more rushed pace, or in some instances it ends up more subdued because of the translation but I'm not saying they don't hit they just don't hit me as hard.
Possible reasons for Hachi not being in this season? A deciding factor could have been because of budget. A lot of money was put into this season of One Piece. Even with such a large cost, a producer or something in a video interview did say that there were things they really wanted to do but could not because of time and budget.
Hachi’s anatomy leans towards CG or a practical and CG blend to look and perform well for live action. But, CG COSTS MONEY, more than you would think.
Keep an eye on how they do Chopper in a season 2. That, I feel, will set the precedent for how they will do more fantastical character designs like Chopper and Hachi.
I want apologies from everyone who doubted Emily Rudd based on the trailers. Girl has knocked it out of the fucking park.
Ok😂
One thing I don't really get is why the Marines allow Zeff to run his business. They know he's there, and he's a former captain of a bloodthirsty pirate crew. Yeah, he stopped pirating after the whole Sanji thing, but that doesn't erase his crimes, right? He still must have a bounty on his head. Yet he can have a dinner chat with a vice-admiral and nobody gives him any trouble.
Hachi WAS there... he was the one playing cards that accused Nami of cheating... Or well that's what I heard... They changed him a lot....if that is him
Some of the background fishmen don’t look great but Arlong, Kuroobi and Chew look awesome. Arlong especially, he doesn’t look like a guy wearing prosthetics he looks like an actual sawshark man.
10:27 Oh, ha ha...(Only manga readers, or anime watchers - like me - get it...FOR NOW.)
Anyone here rewatching the Arlong Pirates scenes in this show looking for the Sun Pirates symbol?
Don't think I saw it on Arlong because he was always wearing something that covered it, but we know he wouldn't get rid of it even if he could, he'd probably have too much pride over having sailed with Fisher Tiger to do that.
The live action Arlong reminds me a lot of Michael Clark Duncan's Kingpin from the og Daredevil movie.
I reread the manga on purpose before I watched this and this episode was kind of a dissapointment. But this is just because the manga is so great. Remember we have the whole zoro nami and usoppe nami dimension and also the villagers know about what nami is doing which makes it more powerful and also bellemere kicks arlongs ass before he bites off her shotgun. Especially usoppe is underdeveloped in this show. Sanji a little. Then again the garp, fishmen and buggy stuff is phenomenal. We got a mention of jinbei even. But why did they made these changes? Its not like what they did with luffy here was so exceptional that it was worth it.
ngl after watching all the emotional scenes in the live action I'm really hyped for Drum Island, Enies Lobby and Marine Ford ... if we get that far
