  • Jeep Badge of Honor Trails Series:
    Looking for information on Overlanding the Black Gap 4x4 Trail in Big Bend National Park, Texas, and want to get your badges. Check out our off-road adventure as we travel across the United States as we hit 20+ Badge of honor trails in just 2 short weeks. Our second stop in Texas where we explore and provide a trail review and trail guide for Black Gap Trail before heading to Arkansas.
    This was an exciting adventure as Joshua Noesser from TrailsOffroad and the crew takes their JL"s out across the country for adventure, camping, overlanding, rock crawling, 4wheeling, and adventure. They drive their ‪@GenRightOffRoad‬ Jeeps, equipped with ‪@falkentire‬, ‪@RacelineWheelsOfficial‬, RockJock4x4, and with ‪@Trailsoffroad‬ guides up what some say are hard trails. This is a must-watch and in the Top 5 trails.
    1:04 - Glen Springs Trail
    2:30 - Black Gap Trail
    3:04 - Creek Crossing (Jungle Cruise)
    4:12 - View Point
    6:20 - The Black Gap (Obstacle)
    8:13 - River Road East
    8:45 - Old Abandon Buildings

    Nice Video! Thanks for sharing. I like how you created this interesting video. Big Bend is such a great place! We really liked Grizzly Lake (Colorado) with that first obstacle, The Wall. However, the shelf road section made me want to walk rather than ride. First time I was really scared! LOL. Thanks for sharing!

    Haven't been on many BoH trails yet. But of the ones we've seen so far Schnebly Hill in AZ was the most scenic and Firebreak 5 in Oregon was the most fun. You're absolutely right about Table Mesa. Hoping they eventually add some in Washington.

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, we were talking about running up to the 1 trail in Washington to run that. Have you done that one?

    • @JanetGraniteJeep
      @JanetGraniteJeep 2 года назад

      @JeepAdventures Jeep doesn't have any BoH trails in Washington that I know of, unfortunately. Several groups have submitted trails to them. Naches Pass Trail should definitely be one. It's quite iconic here. Done it a few times. I've done the 2 in Oregon (Firebreak 5 and Cedar Tree) and they are great too, but Naches Pass and Lower Naches have a lot of history.

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +1

      You are right, it is firebreak #5 in OR that is in the badge of honor. I have heard of Naches and I was told it was really cool, worth doing. We might come up there this summer. If so we will have to hit them all up.

    Seeing this a year after you posted it, but great video. I did Black Gap 4x4 in 2021, and I got lost. :)
    I latched on to two Jeepers and they did Black Gap 4x4 again, then they did River Road.
    I'm going next weekend, hoping to find someone there so I don't get lost. I also hope to do River Road too.

    I just got off trail yesterday, it reminded me of 29 Palms Marine Corps base.
    I also towed a stranded Jeeper who was coming up from the south along River Road.
    I was surprised how few folks were on the trail.
    6:32 they were broken down just south of the Black Gap.

    • @JeepAdventures

      Yeah, it really does seem like 29 palms area.

      For sure, there is plenty of small campsites alone all the routes for people to camp at.

    Like your videos, but it seems that most of you are more interested in having your face on the screen more than the scenery..
    I do appreciate you and others sharing And would like to simply see the trails and areas given the screen time..
    Be Safe!

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the feedback. It really depends on how much trail there is to film for how much facetime in the video. The longer trails will have less talking while the shorter ones will have more as there is more to express on while to do the short trail.
      Thank you for watching

    I read there’s no phone service how did you check in for the app?

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +1

      Download the app before hand. when you get there you can open the app (offline) automatic then open the trail and check in. once you are in service later, reopen the app and follow the steps to finish. some times you need to click on your profile.

    How is the offroading?

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +1

      The area is mostly easy trails from what we saw. Even the "Hard" trails were mild at best.

    Could a stock Jeep do this trail?

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +3

      For sure, just make sure you take a friend driving their own vehicle as this place is rather remote.

    • @ElmoUnk1953
      @ElmoUnk1953 Год назад

      It’s VERY remote.
      Zero cell service once you go east of Panther Junction.
      Make sure your Jeep is running reliably, and take your time.

    How far is black gap from the entrance of the park? How long do I need to plan to go into the park, do the trail and head out?

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +1

      So the park is very slow moving (slow speed limits and rangers giving tickets). It took about 45 minutes from the gate to the turn off. Another 15 minutes to air down about 30-45 minutes to the trailhead. You can easily do the trail in 45 -60 minutes if you don't stop. Then to exit another 45 minutes. This is all carrying a decent (not fast) pace.

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +2

      So plan for 4 to 5 hours to be safe.

  • @ribjones2654
    @ribjones2654 2 года назад

    How long did it take you to finish the trail?

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +1

      It took us a little over an hour to do the trail. Overall, all the trails were about 3 hours including airing up.

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  2 года назад +1

      But could have easily taken longer if we enjoyed the drive a bit more. I would plan for a 3/4 day to do the trail and drive in and back out.
