Good thing they can’t reboot Jingle all the way.
The main character can just order turboman off of amazon on cyber Monday.
Remake you mean
Amazon could still run out of stock
They did though
Lmao for real no more midnight launches for games :/
They could remake it. Arnold’s character is smart and orders it online only for the shipment to get robbed by parents desperately looking for Turboman toys resulting in him having to go into the chaotic world of in person toy shopping to try and find it
I always considered Jingle all the Way being one of those fun, dumb 90s movies. It’s dripping in 90s cheese, and if you can’t laugh at Arnie beating up a warehouse full of scummy Santa’s, you just can’t laugh.
no wonder Doug hated it. he clearly doesn't have a sense of humor.

Jingle All The Way is a personal favorite! didn't know it had a bad rep, I think it's campy and hilarious
My favorite thing about JotW is that for years after the fact on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Arnold would come on the TV monitor and continue to plug this movie over and over again

After watching Christmas with the Kranks it made Jingle all the way looks like a masterpiece
Same, I saw it as a child without social media and it was enjoyable and now it has a place as a childhood memory even if it’s not great. I always cherish this movie and going with my dad :)

Jesus are all of y'all are still alive?
why the hell did his kid want Turbo Man, when he could build his own pod racer?!
And droids.
Jake Lloyd was also two different characters in The Pretender as a dead pilot's son and Young Angelo.
It would have been nice if people would have just left him alone. He's gotten into trouble with the law and suffers from schizophrenia because of his abuse at the hands of Star Wars "fans." The backlash from his Star Wars role basically ruined his life.
Jake Lloyd's mental health suffered a great deal from the Phantom Menace fallout, I agree. Do you know if schizophrenia has environmental triggers though? Environment can certainly make it worse, but I thought it was largely from heredity and mutation.
MrFig 358
he should've tried spinning; that's a cool trick
@@DragonTigerBoss I don't know if other, pre-existing causes also need to be present, but I do know that schizophrenia can be at least partially caused by environmental triggers.

VHS.....everything was great lol well except rewinding star wars that sucked
I rented this back in the days of Blockbuster. It really wasn't bad at all. Like James says, it was kind of like a live-action cartoon, completely over-the-top and not even trying to take itself seriously. Schwarzenegger and Sinbad actually had some pretty good synergy together. And as someone who spent ten years working in retail, I can relate to the resentment of how overcommercialized the holiday was (and still is).
Like the brain Washington in Halloween 3 : buy masks , buy masks now !

Jingle all the way was one of those movies that I would just watch on repeat as a kid. I can remember watching all the way through it, then as soon as the tape finished rewinding and popped out of the VCR I would walk over and push it back in. Oh the 90s when they could make a joke about postal workers snapping and sending bombs in the mail....it was a simpler time
They could have cartoons where guns get brought into a movie theater. I remember watching an episode of the Disney afternoon cartoon Darkwing Duck as a kid where NegaDuck pulls out a gun in the theater. I'm pretty sure that would be banned nowadays.
This was back when people didn't go crazy when real guns appeared in cartoons.
The 90's also seemed to have this weird obsession with marital infidelity jokes and subplots in kid's movies, too. I remember there was one with Halle Berry in the live action Flintstones, as well as a joke about a guy's secretary sitting in his lap in the opening scene of The Santa Clause.
The 90's were wild, man.
@@DragnSly The 90's were great though. That's why they're rebooting all the TV shows that were popular in the 90's and also Seinfeld reruns will be airing until the end of the world.

Still not as bad as Christmas with the cranks.
By far. Kranks is so bad I saw the whole movie was on this site like so many other bad movies neither RUclips staff or production company even cares. Right up there with _Home Alone 4_ ...which I couldn't make past the 10 minute mark. -_-
Christmas with the Kranks is on all the time. You'd think no one knows there are other Tim Allen Christmas movies.
Now on FreeForm--24 hours of The Santa Clause 3.....never mind.
Its not bad at all.
My only real problem with Christmas with the Kranks was Austin Pendleton as Santa Claus. David Huddleston and Sir Richard Attenborough were among the best actors to play Santa. The Kranks movie had the opposite end of the spectrum.
Jingle All the Way is my favorite guilty pleasure.
One of mine too.
There is nothing guilty about this masterpiece 🤔
Yeah same. I recognize its not a good movie but I still get some enjoyment over how dumb it is

I never thought Jingle all the Way was even bad at all, it's one of my favourite Christmas films. It has a good moral which people can follow too: "Don't leave Christmas shopping until the last second"
Bad!? This is my favorite "modern" Christmas movie
*PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN! NOW!*
I like how the whole movie they call Turboman a Doll. Everytime.
Haha
LOL xD Actually I was watching through the movie, and I think at one point Merlin corrects Howard as he's leaving the diner and says it's an action figure. o: I could have that wrong though.
EDIT: oops, Myron, not Merlin xD
I think this is something that most parents from this era would do, particularly mothers. I believe they call them "dolls" probably because that's what mothers had when they were kids, and I believe it's only been since around the 70's / 80's when companies started making "action figures" for boys (and now man babies) when in the past they would have Tonka Trucks, toy guns and things like that.
I could be totally wrong, though.. just some speculation :-)
@@ARescueToaster My dad called my Star Wars figures and superheroes dolls all the time just to piss me off. He knew I hated it.
Films they are though
I thought this movie definitely had some great scenes. I've enjoyed Sinbad since his standup days. Even in unnecessary roughness. Phil is wonderful as always. Absolutely underrated. I wouldn't call it great, but it's good for sure.

There are people who don't like Jingle All The Way? It's maybe my favorite Christmas movie! It's intentionally overly goofy, full of hilarious moments and lots of heart. People don't seem to understand the whole "silly on purpose" genre, like this or Pixels or a few other good movies
iJerseyDevil I hate this movie. I get that it was supposed to be silly on purpose, and I totally understand that genre, I’m a huge fan of movies like Airplane!, Young Frankenstein, and The Naked Gun. Those movies are hilariously silly, but they work for me because they exhibit a surreal balance between taking themselves seriously, and then suddenly turning in the silly to make you suddenly realize how silly what they are spoofing is. This movie never takes itself seriously enough to justify its sudden silliness, it’s like a cartoon. A bad cartoon. Silly throughout with no consistent logic or respect for reality.
@Dan S Well, I don't agree with his OPINION but he's got a point in his description, and really it all comes down to...a matter of taste, OPINION actually. Yours - ours - differs from his (though I understand and consider those movies [mentioned by *Nick Manzo* ] more cerebrally complex, _Jingle All The Way_ is consciously more silly, and kid-friendly with the more mindless gags and slapstick.) *Still, each of us has an OPINION,* and you just shat on his, insulting him furthermore. Come on dude! - Right before Christmas, EVEN on the internet?! Don't be rude, or you'll witness Santa's _Slay_ :P I'd like to be the one "to make you suddenly realize how silly" what people arguing over difference of opinion really is! It's childish - if anything, people could learn from one another's experience and perspective. FACTS have to be correct, opinions DON'T.
Anyway, Happy Holidays
I think if you grew up with jingle all the way you find it ok, if you had to watch it as a critic there is less nostalgia. Its an ok movie of its time, nothing ground breaking, i have watched it a few times as a kid, i would say low replay value.
There is one good scene in the extended cut when Sinbad is actually listing all the guns on the Johnny 7 OMA. It's the one scene I wish they didn't cut.

Aw, I miss Phil Hartman.
I honestly never hear anyone say anything bad about Jingle All The Way. Anyone who takes it seriously enough to pick out its flaws and find a million reasons to criticize it, are not people I want in my life. It's not supposed to be thought of as a brilliant work of art. It's a dumb but hilarious and entertaining Christmas movie that never gets old. I loved it as a kid, and I still love it as an adult.
"It's not supposed to be thought of as a brilliant work of art."
That's not an argument. That's a dismissal.
I don't think anyone has ever argued it's meant to be a great work of art.
I think it belongs in the realm of so bad it is good but I just don't like it. Not for any particular reason, just not for me. It just isn't funny.
Just look up the IMDb score or average user rating on Letterboxd, people really seem to hate the movie for some reason... I honestly don't get it, it's targeted at kids and I utterly loved it in my childhood. So it did everything right...

One of the few channels where i actually rewatch vids.
I just re-watched this with my 5yr old daughter and she actually laughed at a lot of the slapstick moments, but overall the film is a hot mess and a million times worse than I remember.
I honestly don't understand why this movie gets such a bad rap. There is NOTHING wrong with this movie, as far as Christmas movies go. Maybe Jake Lloyd could've been better and Sinbad is Sinbad, but Jake was a little kid and Sinbad is Sinbad. I think people just confuse the definitions of "bad movie" and "movie I don't like" The movie had everything a Christmas movie should have. A "Christmas feel" throughout, satirization of Christmas commercialization, "bad santas", and even a fight scene against the bad santas. It has learned lessons, a look at Christmas through the eyes of both children and adults. It even includes fairly original jokes, like a false "Christmas bomb" sent through the mail which turns out to be a real bomb. The movie even has a call back to Conan, when Arnold knocks out a reindeer, instead of a camel. He even later shares some beer with said reindeer. It is all set to the tone of an epic Christmas quest . . . STOP HATING ON JUNGLE ALL THE WAY!!
It's cheesy, crazy , improbable, impossible, ludicrous and ...... I love it. Guiltiest pleasure 😋
What's not to love?! Phil Hartman, great one liners. Even Sinbad managed to make me chuckle with the whole "Out of my way, box!"
Verne Troyer dead, Phil Hartman dead and Jake Lloyd is off the rails as well.
