Love the film Sam. Made me mourn for my F-Type V8R convertible. If anyone doesn’t think you suffer for your art, worse than the 4AM start, capsule coffee in your hotel. Feeling. Your pain Dude….
Absolutely! It looks so good! Early morning drive and raining and hearing only car sound! Wish I could make such great POVs but Respect what STG giving us such great content!
I live in that area and drive that road regularly. About 20 years ago I was driving home from Edinburgh in my Fiat Coupe 20 Valve Turbo, enjoying a test of speed with a motorbike. I crested the peak of the hill in front, and as we passed the ski centre had to slow down for several vehicles that pulled out from the left. The bike cheekily scooted past and I went to follow, only to have the rearmost of the other vehicles swerve into my path as I tried to overtake. The air turned sprint blue to match the car as I lay on the brakes. I then noticed the passenger of that car, a black Discovery, looking directly at me while talking on a handset, the array of non standard aerials and the cars in front of it. That black Discovery, a black Range Rover, a little green Series 1 Landrover , a black Range Rover and a black Discovery in the lead. They drove at 35 - 40 for the next 30 miles , not letting anyone overtake, until they turned into the right, where the driver of the Series 1 , a little old lady in a headscarf, has a wee holiday home.
The intro, footage and professionalism is just amazing. And no music with the driving shots so that we can hear that amazing V8 is a nice decision! Enjoyed this very much, loving the recent F-Type content.
That road looks epic and you got some amazing footage, breakfast looked decent too! Loving the roof down spirit Sam, loving the F-Type and road trip content......
Absolutely loving the Top Gear tribute drive. Without having re-watched the original piece, the bit starting at 15:15 feels exactly like the TG segment. Fantastic!
still loving my rwd f-type r since ordering it new back in 2015. this piece has made me want to get up at 4am and get it out more. I’ve thought about buying a roma to freshen things up but just when I thought I was out, that sound pulls me back in
Unbelievable how underrated your videos are. Quality is one of the best out there. Thank you for not giving up when views might not be as good as we would like.
Everyone: Love the sound the car makes, sounds really nice. SAM: The car doesn't sound good any more. Great video, the channel is coming back to its glory days again, loving the content recently :)
Glen shee. Yup I remember stopping there one may when it was cold wet and windy in a heaterless caterham. It was open, the coffee was terrible. But I genuinely didn't want to get back on the road it was so cold! Love Scotland
It was such a surprise seeing the St Andrews cathedral. I went there for Uni and it brought back nice memories of walking down to the Pier right alongside the cathedral. Great video as usual mate!
Sam, I've been following your channel for around 6 years now, and this was one of my favourite videos yet! The amount of effort put into the B roll is incredible, great drone shots, the driving shots with no music were just perfection, the way you conveyed the story was superb, you really make us feel like we're in the car with you. What a stunning place and definitely worth the early start!
Drove my Calibra to Glenshee on a long road trip many years ago ,it's a beautiful part of the world ,stunning video as als Sam ( oops it was Glencoe 😊)
Being inspired by Top Gear's F-Type video too and to have done this road on a V6 F-Type few summers ago I can only confirm how great this road is. Thanks a lot for this kind of content Sam. Such a special place for drivers and your F-Type fits so well in that special place. Can't wait to come back to Scotland with a proper british car too. Hope to see more content like this one with your F-Type Sam - a french fan.
I don’t often post comments on videos, however, I felt compelled to this time. I have been a fan of Sam’s vlog since he collected his first Jaguar F-Type R (about 5 years now), it’s how I learnt that RUclips was more than videos of ‘funny animals’ and ‘how to guides’. Since then I’ve followed Sam’s journey in different cars, countries and adventures. From the 540c, to taking a Carrera T around the work. I don’t think I’ve missed much. Sam always produces great content, his production is fantastic. However, this video is one of his best. Sam is always engaging but the footage and passion in this video was another level. One for the greatest hits. Thank you. I also want to talk about the Jaguar, a car I wanted and lusted for, for years and it’s why I started watching Sam in the first place, I wanted to see his adventures and how he got on with the car. I would go to Goodwood and find the Jaguar stand just talk about the R and SVR, I gave my details and after a number of attempts at trying to get a test drive of an SVR or an R, it wasn’t to be. Sadly my local Jaguar dealers never come back to me. Eventually I decided to speak with a dealer who was further away and I drove a Jaguar E-Pace 240 and an F-F-Type 300. Knowing that if I liked them both of them I could take my money and buy a used SVR (I had a pretty reasonable budget of 80k). I loved the F-Type, it is British, it sounds bonkers and it looks cool. I drove both cars and the gear change was awful, it lacked urgency, it was soft and delayed. No kick in the back, it seemed that the fly by wire delayed or held the gear change. After an hours drive car didn’t give me the fizz I wanted, which was a shame as everything else was amazing. I asked if the gear box was the same in the V8’s, hoping that it was different, I was told it was the same. It wasn’t meant to be. I love seeing Sam enjoy the F-Type and it makes me think what could have been. It is still a car I love but the one that got away. Finally, to say, great content Sam and the production was amazing. I can’t wait to see what you do next. Thank you.
Great video Sam. They all look so well edited and shot now, with the different in-car, on-car, drive-by, and drone parts, I’d be interested to see some funny outtakes of your videos. And the interior color of the jag looks really really sharp too.
That comment about early morning drives is so true. I drove the whole of the Isle of Mann TT circuit starting at 5.30am and only saw one car in the whole drive and no upper speed limit in places
I’ve been watching your channel for several years now and I have to tell you I reaaally enjoyed this video! I love the simplicity of the drive and sounds and views. I quite enjoyed the lack of talking and don’t take that the wrong way. It’s a style that we don’t see often in car you tubers anymore. Love your content and will be watching you for years to come!
The Cairngorms (and just Scotland in general) is amazing. Haven’t been for 3 years now so I really miss it but the last time I did was with 2 of my best mates and we camped in the middle of winter (nearly freezing in the process) and woke up to the most amazing sunrise I’ve ever seen over Loch Morlich
@@seenthroughglass Ever since I saw that video the F Type has been my dream car! I hope to own one someday, if I ever stop buying guitars and basses. 😅
Have you ever thought about starting a second channel called "STG POV" where you would post only raw POV footage from your road trips ? That could be a great additional content (not that anything is wrong with a current format, it's bloody lovely! Keep up the good work Sam, cheers!
There was a lot of amazing B roll in this video. The drone flying with the birds was a beautiful shot. This is one of the reasons Sam stands out from the rest. it’s not just your typical blog style video, it’s a beautiful film to enjoy.
Bilal Malek beat me to it. I simply wanted to say that I appreciate the considerable amount of work that went into this video, especially since you’re a one man production crew. Well done and cheers!

Beautiful cinematography as always! Especially loved the bits at the beginning and the end of the video with the long cuts and no background music, perfectly captures the mood.

Good job, major respect for putting in the work for video like this, rather than buying a Golf R, M4, RS6, and wrapping them all the same colour like Archie does.
Nice piece Sam, I've done a couple of vids on that section too, had a lovely summer night for it in my 981 Boxster. Impressed with you filming that on your own it's certainly not easy!
Scotland is one of my favourite places on the entire planet, and when there's no traffic, some amazing driving roads. I've actually been up that road and didn't realise it was the highest in the UK. Feel like you need to do the North Coast 500 whilst you're there.
The added sound of the birds and the water splashing is a very nice detail... Great video Sam! Kind of reminds me of the mclaren video with seb from few years ago
Sam! It’s bloody awesome to see you enjoying our local roads. I worked a season at the Ski Centre in Glenshee and was lucky enough to drive that very road every day! Sad to have missed you but maybe catch you next time you’re up 😎 keep up the great work!
Dude!! I was like wow this roads looks alot like the one Jeremy drove an F-Type. The length you went to put out content like this, wow. Jeremy's videos along with your POVlogs are the sole reason I love F-Type the way I do.
Sam, knocked it out of the park with this one mate. Getting footage like this doesn’t come without a great deal of graft. Not to mention the rest of it!
Fantastic content Sam! The amount of effort involved with the b-roll angles and drone work etc is mind blowing, especially when you consider that you are doing it on your own! The ending was perfect as well, essence of C'était un rendez-vous, love it, thank you.
Everytime I’m watching STG, I constantly spend time trying to count how many different shots Sam takes for B-Roll. Immense amount of work. Thanks Sam.
Haha, I've got a fitness dvd coming out soon which mainly involves running up and down the road picking up cameras
