These 3 cars belonged to my grandfather and they truly are something very special. I’ve missed them hugely over the past few years where he’s been unable to drive them and some of my happiest memories with him are sitting in the passenger seats of the C and the D. The D is just an animal that wants to be driven like an animal. Having been lucky enough to go from 0 - 110mph at full revs in that thing a few times, it really is an experience like no other. The noise is just porn. But as sad as I am to see these cars go, it’s nice to see somebody else enjoying them and some good content being created. Well done.
I wouldnt classify my car as a Classic, yet that is, but my 1993 Mercedes 190e w201 is def a pleasure to drive. I love driving older cars because the ride is so much more different then cars of today. I have driven an E type Jag and I have to say, what a car! Hope you enjoyed it Sam. Once in a lifetime opportunity!
@@asifnoaman8978 thanks mate. And yea oath mate. Guess youre right haha. Doesnt feel like 30 years old though. Cruising through the terrible uneven roads of Sydney is a dream, the handling is just incredible.
Also, the Jannarelly Design-One (Seb Delanney had one last year) has an optional shark fin inspired by this and...well, I love it! It's really the perfect modern interpretation/version of this imo!
Time for a classic jaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggg on the channel. Jaguar Mk2s of a similar vintage are not horrendously expensive (around the £20k mark for a good one)- maybe something to consider in the future. Anyway, as usual a fantastic video.
@@fotorabia before they had those slightly odd long rear doors? Well played. Just watched an XJ6 pillarless coupe go for $14000 nzd. Needs work but gorgeous car. Would have bought it if I'd had the disposable income...
3:13 that line up is absolutely stunning. It really makes it easy to see the difference in generations especially because they are all similar in colour 😁👌🏾
One of my favourite videos you’ve done Sam. My favourite car of all time is the D type. My dad had a Mark 2 when I was a kid and an old Jag got me into cars. Your passion and love of cars and way to describe how they are really put you in the drivers seat. I don’t think I’ll ever drive the D type so thank you.
I just love this channel for content like this. It's so so different from mainstream RUclips automotive videos. Feels like just a friend of ours is visiting some place and sharing his experience through a video.
Enjoyed that Sam. I had a ride in Duncan Hamilton's actual car once.....exhilarating!! Your enthusiasm shines through....I think your content is currently right up there with Harry's.
Sell everything (except the 360) and buy a couple of very interesting classic cars. Its clear to me its a rapidly developing passion of yours. I love it Sam!
Very well-done video! Here I am a couple of years in the future to let you know that's still one of the yummiest sets of British sports cars around. Those would fill the toy box quite nicely indeed.
The 'F'-type looks like a clumsy, overweight truck by comparison with the grace of the other 3. The 'D'-type is a replica of one of the later ones, with the divided cockpit and the headrest integral with the fin. The early models had a full-width cockpit, and only a headrest fairing. When it became obvious that the stabilising fin was necessary for stability on the high-speed straights, it was riveted onto the fairing. In later years, the fairing and fin were blended as in this example. The cockpit changed to the dual design, (usually with a windshield wrapping around the driver, rather than the full width. The original 3.4 litre motor was expanded to the later 3.8. I've hand-waved about the years, but I'm sure that you can find them in 5 minutes, if you care.
I have a 1998 C43 AMG which im restoring te near original. Lovely car to cruise around in. Very planted and the torque of the NA V8 is great. And mine is loaded with for example 10 CD changer, electric folding mirrors, rear sun curtain and wait for it NAVIGATION from 98!!
I absolutely love the content this year, a bit more personalized and special with everything stilll locked dowm. What an escape from reality, thank you 😄 Edit: hear to year.
Lovely video and an awesome soundtrack. Very interesting to see the size comparison between the modern and classic cars, especially when the F Type isn't considered to be particularly big.
I was thinking an air cooled 911 was the obvious classic car choice for you, something like a 67-73ish 911 T. However, given your love for Jaguar (and their evident love for you), something like an XK120 - XK150 could be really awesome. Maybe a Mille Miglia rally style build?
You are through and through a Jag head and that’s ok Sam, that’s ok. All this Jag content is making me start to LIKE the brand 😆. Great content as always.
Amazing, but that steering wheel being off centre in the D-Type must have driven you mad, it would have me!! Amazing Sam, thank you for being the best you tuber at the mo, you are smashing it
Sam, instead of a replica/recreation C/D type, how about a XK120 OTS? Can pick up a "well loved" but drivable RHD for less than £100k. It gives that raw, classic feel as it's a 50's car and then can also work as a project car too for content
At 3:36 we see how huge the F-Type is compared to the rest. I love my F-Type but it is a very large car compared to the E-Type I once had, pity I will never be able to afford another one.
The mark of a Petrol head... Just wants everything. Would rather have a replica C-Type or a replica 250-SWB 🤔 Another brilliant vid Sam. My level of excitement would have been exactly the same 👍🏻
A classic car is anything that is 25 years old (or older). Doesn't have to neccisarily be a car from the 50's, 60's or 70's. Putting aside money, if there was one car that would suit Sam to a tee more than any other, I feel that car would be the Ferrari 550 Barchetta. Obviously a rare and expensive car, but a car that personifies Sam and what Sam likes and is all about.
Nice video, but 06:58 "Steelies" on the D? Those are Dunlop alloy knock-offs, and when Jaguar could have used any wheels on the D they went with those. Why? Lighter and stronger than wire wheels and made possible by the adoption of disc brakes, since the ventilation of wire wheels was no longer necessary to cool huge racing drum brakes. Repros are God-awful expensive today! I'll take them over wires any time. Look pretty bad-ass on an MGA too.

Wow, what a cool experience. Not often you get to see all of them together!

You pulled it out of the hat big time Sam! Awesome video, on form, facts on point and so brilliantly enthusiastic. Thank you!

Love the E Type! One of the most beautiful cars ever made! Also, that's one heck of a lineup
For me the e type roadster is still one of the greatest looking cars on the road. Timeless design. Amazing to be 60 yrs old.
The hairs on the back of my neck stood up when they started all three. So great to see your uncontrolled enthusiasm.
Your overtaking wins the day. Thanks for your efforts Sam.
The C-type is my favourite. It's so simple, pure and beautiful.
What a experience man and what a video too. This is why you are the best automotive RUclipsr 🙌🏼
Ha thank you. Very kind

Seeing your excitement is contagious and captivating. A pure joy to watch
Do it! I bought a 1970 Triumph TR6 to use as my daily driver. I get compliments all the time. You feel so much more connected to the road.
I love how the younger generation - still include myself with 34 - is just experiencing and understanding why drivers were heroes back in the day

You might be right there but based on these examples, I’d pick the C Type

OMG! Okay we need to see a classic car on STG! Great Video and can’t wait for more :)

OMG! That very first scene was so beautiful and exciting. Wow!
Okay, now I'll watch the rest of the video. 😁
D Type is my ultimate. I think there is a company that creates replicas. Beautiful cars.
If ever there was a video that shows Sam deserves so many more subs. Great Sam, keep on trucking

Great video Sam. More classic content please. I think that the C-Type mat be one of the best sounding cars yet featured on STG.
Truly beautiful machines from the days when cars such as these had true character and soul.....
Wow, so jealous, great content, to see the cars up close and driven. Keep up the great work 👍
The "D" type was the pinnacle of Jaguars. The only one I would ever want.
You can see how,if done well " replica's of iconic cars can give you 90% of the feel and thrill for a fraction of the real deal. 👍

Reminds me of Mike Hawthorn narrating his lap at Lemans in a D type...
I’ve seen that video. I remember him saying that it’s a relatively boring track, or something along those lines 😂
Amazing to see how huge the F Type looks next to the others
I'm building a 1951 XK120 roadster and they're fun to work on too.

Hi Sam great vid. My dad at 75 has just bought an F Type Reims edition go on lad.
That camera angle made it look like the C D and E were going to hit the garage being pulled out
Epic Sam - great video and yep I'm nursing one as Clarkson once said!!!
What machines!!! Filmed this by Rutherford Appleton Laboratory??
Keep the road trips coming. Love 'em!

Have a look at the Proteus c-type! Cheaper option that is similar to the eagle, gto engineering, alfaholics etc. approach.
Hey Sam, Carfection called. They want their Jaguar C to F-Type video back
The takeaway from this video for me is the size of the F type compared to the others its huge! especially width
Living with these cars is alot different then a great drive
