      Thanks. The rod is great very sensitive on small bites. The owner told me it was supposed to be for fresh water rod. It work on the salt so far.

    Went to Poplar Beach 2 days ago and caught two small surf perch. Only fish for about an hour cuz I have three kids running around LOL but I guess that was more than all the other fishermen that were next to me they didn't catch anything. I enjoy the videos keep them coming.

    Fisherman your timing was on spot and a beautiful day too. I was at Francis 4 days ago; lots of bait stealing dinks. Nothing of size caught by any of like 5 other fishers in the 2 hours that I was there. That bunch of diving birds was likely over some nice stripers. As always an excellent informative. Do you bait with a rabbits foot? Justin's report below makes feel a little better. I wasn't the only one with bad timing.

      Most of us in the group, just fish the paddle tail by themselves I noticed. I often use gulp sandworm but often changing colour until I found the one they like on that day

      Hi Ron. I'm very picky with tides and structures, there are some days me driving for an hour and head back home after 10 minutes of jigging simply because of the tide or weather was not in my favor. I'm guessing my guesstimate sometimes works and No Rabbit foot just pure luck hehehe.

      You can buy them online. It's called Motor oil Grub, make sure you buy the paddle tail. Hope this help.

      I normally pinch the head of the perch hard enough to dispatch them quickly, For Stripers, i take some of the gills out after a quick blow to the head, it's almost like bleeding them. Thanks for the support my friend.

    Wow nonstop action, looks like a lot of fun. What is the rod that you're using? I'm in the market for a 11 foot surf rod, light weight so I can toss bait all day long.

    • @fishermanally
      @fishermanally  2 года назад +1

      It's a Ray Rod elite 7+ footer. This is actually a fresh water rod according to the owner of the Ray Rod, however its been great on the surf. I'm not quite sure what kind of lures you are using, i think those OKuma Rockaway is also a great rod for surf. Thanks for watching.
