    a very nice interview- Host asked excellent questions and gave Eli the opportunity to answer: that's the technical perspective. What I learned is the humility of Reb Eli: I am privileged to be part of the chaburah ( a member of the silent minority)

    I tried numerous times to commit to Daf Yomi. R. Eli is the reason I committed to doing the Daf daily starting since Nedarim 15. His teaching style is perfect for me and I am Sephardic!

    Reb Eli, you changed my Life, and my family’s,
    My kids can’t wait to hear the “good morning Rabosiiii….AHHHH, even when I’m not understanding the Daf on a particular day, just listening the the holy words of Hashems Torah is like sitting next to a warm fire when your freezing, it’s a tremendous Shmera on my physical and soul. since starting in middle of Pesachim, (259 Days in a row, BH) I’ve seen it over and over agin.
    Reb Eli you and your family should be blessed over and over again with continued strength and Parnassah, health and happiness.

    Gevaldige interview!! I remember Reb Eli from East 4th st in Kensington back in the day. Reb Eli and his חשוב father, who happens to be a huge תלמיד חכם, would daven נץ in the shul in their garage. It's been a long time, but It's great to see him again, and especially being part of the Shiur. Hatzlacha Rabba!! We will be in Israel in a few weeks אי'ה, and hope to meet.

      @@hannahsarah60 I am not sure it is Yiddish as much as the Ashkenazi pronunciation. Not sure if that is who their main focus is (Orthodox communities) but most American Reform and Conservative Jews are taught Modern Hebrew so it would be more challenging to listen and learn. I slow the whole thing down and also watch Reb Eli’s shorter version. I don’t want to give it up yet. Also there are many other Daf’s online you could try as well. Good Luck!

    Eli, you try to make daf yomi more accessible to people, by doing a fair amount of schmoozing and joking around. I get it. But you limit the shiur to 45 minutes, and I've noticed that the levity takes up so much time, that often you allot only 10 minutes for the entire amud beis. There has to be a limit to the levity, because the quality of the shiur is being compromised.
    Btw, what's with the socks? :)

      @@ion_iot Please explain it to me.

    • @ion_iot
      @ion_iot 2 года назад +1

      @@EPA18 the whole point of the shiur is to have jokes, letsonus, emails, sponsorship so by the time they actually get round to learning, there;s only 35 mins left for 2 sides of gemorah, which means no time for anything but very basic Peshat (no Meforshim.) So you are left with a Shiur that isn't too mentally taxing and is easy listening from a charisamtic guy.
